"What did you want to talk about, Makayla?" Dominique asked as they walked.
"Can we go somewhere private and talk? I don't want everyone overhearing our conversation," Makayla replied.
"Sure, baby. Let's go to my room. Your dad is with the boys so we'll be alone."
They walked into Dominique's room and Makayla looked around. She hadn't been in here since she was little. There were pictures of all of them on the walls. Dominique sat on the bed and Makayla sat in the desk chair. Dominique waited for Makayla to say something. She watched as her expression showed a range of emotions. Her daughter was obviously distraught.
"Makayla, whatever it is that is bothering you, just tell me. I have always been here for you."
"Mom, what you said about planning Laura's wedding...." Makayla trailed off.
