Chris groaned as he opened his eyes. His body ached and his back burned. He looked around and didn't know where he was. There was a fire burning off to the side of him. He looked around without moving and saw a figure coming out of the woods. He closed his eyes so he was looking through the slits in them.
"I can tell you are awake, Chris. Don't worry. We are in the mountains. You've been out for a while. I decided to let you sleep since bleeding you really took it out of you," Josh said.
"How far away are we?" Chris asked, his voice raspy from dehydration.
"About two hours away. I linked Karen. She packed everything up and then started to cover our tracks. I couldn't leave you alone to get eaten," Josh laughed.
"Haha," Chris said snidely.
"Your father sent out an open link to the pack to find you. He said you were injured and were taken. He told everyone to kill the person who took you."
