Chapter 1 - The beginning of mysteries

Philip stood there looking like a mystified mummy in front of the crime scene. what he was looking at was shocking even for him.

"Ekk! so gory, how can a human body be so badly mutilated like this" he wondered out loud, as he couldn't understand how such a thing happened.

Cops could be seen moving around the not so spacious crime scene.

"Detective! Hey Detective Philip" Philip was drawn out of his thoughts, as a forensic officer was calling out to him. "Thomas, have you finished conducting tests on the deceased " Philip replied with a cough; feeling embarrassed about being lost in his thoughts.

"It's Andrew sir." The forensic officer replied with an annoyed look, disgusted by the fact that he couldn't recollect his name. "Ah, my bad. but you really don't look like an Andrew" Philip gave a sarcastic reply.

Andrew; "..." (did he just try to justify his inability to remember names)

"your report?" Philip reminded him.

"Yes, we have finished conducting tests, the deceased name was Micheal Dickson, 33 years of age, no spouse, no kids, his parents are also deceased but he has relatives outside the country. There are still some mysteries surrounding his death as there were no signs of Struggle almost like he left the murderers to do as they pleased to him and we also found out that all 'seven hundred and eighty two' cuts all across the deceased body happened at the same time" Andrew gave the report with a solemn face. Philip was shocked as he replied with a blank stare, "did you just say 'Seven hundred and eighty two' cuts", Andrew nodded affirmatively. "Is there even enough room for that amount Lacerations on a person's body" he looked at the deceased again who was mutilated and wondered about the feud that the criminals and the deceased shared with one another. (Maybe he broke their sister's heart or something) he wondered foolishly, before he came to a realisation, "Wait! did u just say that every cut inflicted on the body of the deceased happened at the same time?", Andrew nodded again. "Are you sure?" Philip asked with shock written all over his face, Andrew nodded yet again.

"That's impossible in this small apartment, and in the bathroom not the less. They will have to be at least that amount of people attacking at the same time, in this small bathroom that's not possible", Philip started pacing back and forth as he contemplated. "This is the third murder case that I've investigated recently that doesn't make any sense when you piece everything together and the investigation of the two previous cases led to dead ends. Now looking at this new case, apart from the gory corpse, the crime scene is very neat. There is no sign of struggle or anything being moved, the neighbours claimed not to have heard any sounds. Can over seven hundred people break into an apartment without making a sound? This is freaking ridiculous. This isn't normal, but i don't believe in the supernatural. Even if i did, how do i go about my investigation and who do i tell the higher ups that I am investigating? A supernatural gang. What a joke by the time i submit such a report, I'll be in the psychiatric ward some hours later as a new patient" Philip thoughts were in so much chaos that he didn't notice that there was a person standing right behind him. The voice of this person brought him back to reality as he asked, "Huh? come again?...
