Recap: " What are you doing here?"

" Kimia please!, Let me explain myself."
" The clock is ticking."
" I'm sorry for not telling you. I knew all along but I was against it. I told him to tell you the truth but he kept pushing it back telling me that he would tell you. That day that eventually found out, I had called to tell you about everything but then he got made at me and that's when you overheard us. Again, I am so sorry Kimia."
" I forgive you." I said and he looked at me in disbelief.
" Really?"
" Yeah. You know I can't stay mad at you?" I replied and he grinned.
Rosa was busy looking around the room akwardly and I nudged her.
" Jason, I'm sure you know who Rosa is, Rosa this is Jason. He is he who shall not be named's best friend and, he's also the lawyer that's looking into your case and is gonna get you out."
" Actually, I'm looking into both your cases."
I chuckled.
" Didn't he tell you?, I'm not leaving."
" Kimia don't be ridiculous." Rosa said and I shook my head.
" I know what I'm doing."
" Kimia. Let me help you."
" If you do, what do I have outside here?"
They both kept quiet and I nodded.
" That's what I thought. I'd rather you channel all your energy towards Rosa's case. There's nothing for me out there."
I turned to leave the room and Jason spoke,
" He's waiting for you."
" I'm not a fool anymore Jason." I replied walking out.
You did the right thing Kimia.

" So, you and Jason huh?" I teased Rosa wiggling my eyebrows.
" What's up with Jason and I?"
" You're spending so much time together!"
" Because he's helping me with my case!"
" But still!, Time = friendship, friendship= feelings= and feelings= love!"
" I thought you hated love."
" I don't hate love, I love love. For other people. But personally, I have given up on love."
" You shouldn't."
" So any new developments?" I asked changing the topic from my love life.
" Yes actually, a date has been fixed for my retrial."
" Oh my God Rosa!, That's incredible news!"
" I know. I'm excited but also kind of nervous."
" Everything is going to go great. I believe in you and mostly Jason."
She grinned and I hugged her.
" You'll finally be reunited with your son and family."
" Kimia, you're my family too. Let Jason help you. He can do it."
" There's nothing for me out there."
" Yes there is. Stop saying that. My world won't be the same without you Kim. It's always been, Rosa and Kim against everything."
" I can't-"
" Is it because of him?"
I gulped.
" Is it because he lied about getting you out? That's why you don't want to leave?"
" It's not that simple."
" Actually, it is."
" Don't let him define you or whatever decisions you make."
I nodded and she hugged me.
" We'll get out of here. I promise you." She whispered.

I paced up and down the room biting my nails.
" Kimia relax."
" I can't. Today is a big day for her."
" She'll be fine."
" How do you know that?" I snapped. I realised my mistake and I sighed.
" I'm sorry Andy, I'm just stressed right now. Everything has to go right."
" I know, and it will. Have faith." He replied smiling and I offered him a small smile.
I was in the warden's lounge watching Rosa's retrial on the TV there. The case was being aired due to the corruption scandal that surrounded Rosa's original preceding judge.
I wasn't an expert in law nor did I watch law related shows but from Jason's speech, body language and stance, I knew he was extremely good at his job.
He was muttering some law gibberish and I bit my lip silently praying for Rosa's freedom.
" After long deliberation, the jury finds Delarosa Tsteves not guilty and she will be acquitted…"
Not guilty!
She's free!
Rosa's free!
I fell on my knees and cried, happy tears.
She's finally free.
After 5 years in jail!
She's free!
I looked up at the screen and saw Rosa hugging Miguel and Nona.
She's finally out,
She's finally with her family.
