Chapter 27 - BEGIN AGAIN

"Okay, so we know Atreus most probably have Walter stuck in some princess castle, deep in his slumber unable to wake up. How do we get to him without facing the dragon?" Zia plotted drawing on Xavier's mirror in his room. "I have never seen the inside of the cult, so I have no input on that," Evan said, drinking some coffee. Ashley agreed to as well to not knowing a single thing about the cult. "Okay, so Stone and Ash are out. The three of us are the only ones who have a chance of getting in and most probably not make it out alive." Zia drew her, Autumn and Xavier on the mirror as horribly as she could. "Atreus know we will be coming so what if he just kill us as we make inside. I mean he already said he would kill Autumn and all of us if we dare to go after him again. Add that to your mirror of horrible drawing." Xavier joked. Zia rolled her eyes and wiped off the drawings. "In my alternate reality or whatever it was, I was stuck inside of an upside-down tower which I have never seen before because we all know the cult is underground." Autumn rambled.

Evan and Ashley had their conversation about Walter as the other plotted. "Yes but Atreus is and was never underground. There was a council that ruled underground. He only gave the orders, which means we back to not knowing where he could be keeping Walter." Xavier took the marker from Zia and threw it across the room. "I know we hopeless, and we don't know exactly how to save diner boy but don't take your bullshit out on the marker." Zia nagged walking across the room to pick it up. Autumn turned around and watched Ashley and Evan in deep conversation. "I think I know what we can do. But it's going to piss off Atreus even more." Autumn grind.

Evan and Ashley moved in the shadows as they ran through an underground tunnel. They could hear distanced voices dictating. Evan stopped Ashley before they enter inside of the cult. "How sure are you this is going to work?" He asked. "I'm not, but I trust Autumn." She said, and they both covered their heads with their black ropes. Ashley pushed open the metal door, letting Evan in first. The room was ominous, filled with followers roaming around. The four councilmen sat in the sky watching over them. Each one of them in blood-red ropes, older than time as well. Evan and Ashley kept close to each other getting lost in the crowd. Ashley stared up to the council seeing their eyes fixed on the group. "We need to get this over with." She whispered to Evan. He stared casting underneath his breath, keeping her hand. Ashley let go of his hand bumped into everyone she could. Evan did the same keeping the council's eyes on him. A loud siren went off, which means it was their time to praise Atreus. Evan grabbed Ashley and moved to the back of the room, kneeling. "Just a few more minutes." He said. The followers all kneeled before the council as they ascended down upon them. "Hail Lord Atreus. Creator of the land below and followers of death." One of them led the crowd on. The followers all praised Atreus continuously.

A young boy stood up and went up to them. "Get ready," Evan whispered to Ashley. "Let us consume the blood of the pure." The first council member said, laying his hands on the boy. The followers cheered, giving Evan and Ashley the time to move to the door. The young boy was stabbed by each of the council members leaving him to bleed out. "Now," Evan said as he and Ashley stood in the door. "Burn. Burn. Burn." They chanted. The followers all lit upon by one burning. Ashley rushed, but Evan waited, he waited until the councilmen were all burning, until the whole room was in flames. "Burn." He grinned and ran off.

Autumn patiently waited on Atreus arrival in Xavier's room. He kept running the plan over and over again in his head. Making sure that he didn't leave one thing out. "You have quite a nerve Autumn." Atreus stepped out of a shadow. Lean and tall, hair short but visible with a scar just below his right eye. "I warned you, and yet you went against everything I said. I gave you another chance, and you threw it back into my face. How disrespectful." Autumn exhaled not wanting to show any type of fear. "I never knew you were a father. Not exactly Walter's father." Atreus laughed at his statement gracefully playing both his hands behind his back. "I have always been a father Autumn. I've been a father to countless lost souls. I've been a father to you and your friends leading and shaping you into fine followers, but instead, you burn down a legacy I build. I don't care that much for the ones I've lost. I have my son now, and we will begin again. Starting a new generation of followers. Ones who will rule alongside us. Claiming every young soul, we can get our powerful hands-on. You see Autumn your little fire show was nothing but just a mere tick off of my list. I should be thanking you. You have been gracefully handing me over everything that I want without lifting an inch of a finger. Such a waste that you have to die." Atreus circled Autumn like a shark ready to rip his prey apart. "I want Walter back but – I have an offer for you." Autumn saw the malicious look on Atreus face, "I'm listening, boy."

"You sure this is the place?" Zia asked as Xavier stopped his Audi at a cabin far up the east forest. "This is the place we tracked him too. Since his mind is a complete mess, it was easy to find him." Xavier parked his car, nearer to the cabin and got out. "What is it with everyone and houses in the forest. It's goddamn depressing." Zia rambled walking over some lose branches. It was an isolated modern cabin, windows all around, spacey but comfortable. Xavier was ready to bust open the door, but it was already halfway open. "I hope this goes well." Zia prayed and entered inside. The living room, dining room and kitchen were all insight as they made it inside. Xavier searched around but didn't find any rooms just a small space near the bathroom that has a couch or could be bed against the wall. "There is not a room insight here. I don't understand." He reported back to Zia, who was fidgeting with the carpet in the living room. "Does cabins have underground bunkers?" She asked, pulling the rug aside. "I guess this one has," Xavier said seeing the square wooden door hidden well with the floor. Zia bent down and opened it. "You coming?" She asked and took the spiral stairs down, which kept on going and going down, a depth of 15 meters. The bunker was about 170 square meters, big enough to live in. "If he dies. I want this place." Zia said in awe. Xavier ran off and searched for Walter. She couldn't keep her eyes off of how utterly amazing the designing was.

Xavier called for her when he found Walter laying in a bed in one of the rooms. "He's waking up," Xavier said as Zia rushed inside. "Walter, can you hear me?" Xavier held him up, giving him the class of water from the bedside table. "Hey, buddy." He smiled when Walter opened his eyes. "Where am I?" Walter sat up straight rubbing his aching head. "You are trapped inside of a gorgeous bunker which I assume will be yours in the future." Walter didn't understand a word Zia said. "I need to get home. My dad is most properly worried about me." Walter tried to get up but felt an instant pain in his stomach.

"Wait…" Walter realized that he was speaking to Zia and Xavier, who was supposed to be dead. "How are you guys even alive? Am I seeing things again?" Walter started hyperventilating as the two realities fought inside of his mind. Xavier held him down when he wanted to get up. "You have been stuck in an alternate reality, Walter. We never died, and Autumn never killed us. We have tried to save you but we couldn't. I can't explain everything now, but you need to breathe." Walter fought Xavier to get up. Screaming, they are not real. "Xavier we don't have much time left. We need to get back to the house before 5." Zia pushed Xavier aside when Walter would not shut up. She jerked him up and pulled him out of bed. "Listen here, diner boy, I don't care that you do not think that we are real. All that I care about is getting your ass out of here and back home where I do not have to worry about a vindictive man trying to kill us all. So start walking before I make you." Zia pushed him into Xavier's arms and told them one last time they had to leave. The way back was a struggle as Xavier had to carry most of Walter weight. They shoved Walter in the back of the car and drove off.

Ashley and Evan celebrated their win as they entered into the house of Xavier. "I have never done that before in my life. We took out a cult Evan." Ashley felt the exhilarating rush through her body. The feeling of control. Evan grabbed two beers from the fridge and handed her one. "They deserve it. For fucking up people's lives anyway. Cheers." Evan opened the bottle cap and took a huge sip. Ashley finally realized that the house was quiet, "Where is everyone?" Xavier pulled up in the driveway, got out of the car and dragged Walter into the house. "Oh my god, you got him," Evan said relieved, helping Xavier with Walter. "Well, he was too easy to find." Zia shut the door behind her and checked the time, five o clock on the dot. "Where's Autumn it's five." She asked Ashley and went upstairs to look for him. Evan sat down in front of Walter comforting him. "His mind is still stuck in his alternate reality. It's going to be a while before he's back to normal." Xavier said garbing a beer from the fridge. "How did he ever wake up?" Evan asked. Zia came from downstairs saying that Autumn is nowhere to be found. "I don't feel so good." Walter moaned. "What do you mean he's not here?" Ashley slammed down her beer bottle on the table. "It means he's not here!" Zia raised voice over Walter's painful moans. "Well, where the hell is he?" Evan barked. "I don't feel so good." Walter moaned and pushed Evan aside, throwing up gallons of black blood. Everyone scattered away, keeping their distance from him. "I told you I don't feel right." Walter wiped his mouth, leaving some blood on his cheek.
