All the arrangements to move Katie to my home was made and finally slated for tomorrow morning, if you ask me it would have been done this evening but her doctors said it was medically impossible. I put some extra security measures around the hospital in case there was an attack.
We had confirmed the man I sighted was no tourist, or was it a coincidence that he was looking up at Katie's room. After looking through the hospital outside CCTV footages, we noticed that was not the first time he did that.
There was obviously another plan to attack, they were doing surveillance.
There is no other way, she has to be moved.
The medical team was hand picked by Dr.Ribert and have already signed a none disclosure contract. They will be in my house, exposed to information and the workings of my home. as my lawyer always says cover all the bases.
The main concern with the transfer of Katie is maintaining the continuity of medical care. Dr. Robert explained that the key elements of safe transfer involve pre-transfer stabilisation and preparation, choosing the appropriate mode of transfer, that is land transport or air transport, personnel accompanying the patient, equipment and monitoring required during the transfer, and finally, the documentation and handover of the patient at the receiving facility. I had not thought of all those modalities when I decided she should be transferred tonight.
Apparently, there is an existing international guidelines on patient transfer that has to be followed. These transfer guidelines should be followed in each transfer to prevent any adverse events which may severely affect the patient prognosis.
Moving Katie to my home is a very big decision, my lawyer has voiced his objections, he thinks since I don't know her and it was my car that knocked her down, that the whole matter is a potential lqw suit in the making.
But I disagreed with him although I didn't tell him so, I just told him to go prepare for it after all that's why I pay him so much money. How is he going to earn it if there is no law suit.
When I got home, I immediately went to see my mother in her suite. She was already in bed and was surprised when I knocked and entered.
What's so urgent that it couldnt wait until tomorrow son she asked sitting up on her bed.
I'm bringing Katie home tomorrow, she is not safe in the hospital. As I explained to her I saw the look of shock on her face. , I wanted to come home and tell you first but I noticed something unusually today when I went to see Katie and Sunshine. I just had to, and I'm sorry for springing it on you like this, I explained looking at her for understanding.
It's okay Eric, I understand but I hope you've made all the necessary arrangements she asked. She will need 24 hours care.
Yes, Dr.Robert has arranged everything.
Which room are putting her? Iit has to be a big room and downstairs, so the medical staff are not walking long distance to get to her.
Yes mum, the house staff are taking care of that as we speak.
The medical team is six but only three will be on the premises. The other three will come every other day to check on her I explained
I see, I'm glad Sunshine can get to visit her mother everyday. It might help her heal faster and wake up my mother said.
I didn't think of that but I hope. I bent down and kissed her on the cheek. You are the best mum I said, wished her a good night and left her room.
....,...
In the morning, there was a lot of activities going on around the house in preparation for Katie"s coming. I"m working from home today because I wanted to be around when she is moved here. I've checked the room that is been converted to an hospital room for her, the equipments added and modification made. Some are still being fixed, a special hospital bed had to be brought specially this morning.
I realised I was excited, I don't know why but I felt it was because Sunshine gets to see her mum everyday like my mother had said or it's just all me and nothing to do with Sunshine. It's okay Eric, I told myself you don't have to explain every feeling, you're excited, nothing wrong with being excited!
With all the comings and goings downstairs, I gave an instruction that Sunshine stays upstairs. All the noise will probably unsettle her anyway.
When I checked on her earlier my mother was with her, she has told me before she loved bathing, dressing and feeling her in the morning. I stood there and watched them.
Sometimes I wonder If her nanny has work to do because Sunshine has so many people taking care of her. She is an adorable baby, and has many fans I thought to myself smiling.
Hello sunny I said to her as I moved closer, she smiled at me sleepily, ready to sleep again. Don't blame her; she is loved, she is warm and full what else does she need.
I kissed her and left the nursery.
As I got back to my study and started working, I got a phone call from Dr.Robert that the ambulance carrying Katie and security escort just left the hospital.
I called Andrew my assistant to inform him they were on their way.
I heard a knock on my study door and Andrew came in; he asked if the nurses will be staying with Katie in her room when they were on duty?
Oh...I didn't think about that but I guess so I replied
Okay they might have to have a station they sit in, probably outside her room he said.
You're still taking about that now, she is on her way here already I replied
I got it covered boss he said, as he was leaving his phone rung, he picked the call and the next thing we heard were very loud gun shots.
What is going on?, he asked after getting over his initial shock "_"
I stood up immediately, are those gun shots I'm hearing I asked, not quite believing my ears.
We're on our way to the Vila, and suddenly attacked on Bendor Road the subordinate replied agitated.
