Chapter 10 - Breakthrough

Reaching out to me, it took all my will power not too pull away from the madman filled with an extra dimensional and possibly highly unstable form of energy. Still if what he said was true, and I would be in with the chance of accessing a power that was far beyond the average reach of Qi, that would be incredible.

It would also greatly help work in the more demonic arts that require more esoteric sources of energy, if we could change out a mass sacrifice for a simple dimensional exchange, than we could lie low for quite some time, preparing some truly apocalyptic rituals and take out the Towering Mountain and all righteous sects under its umbrella once and for all. Thus bringing in a wave of peace to us all for quite some time.

His touch was electric in all the wrong ways, it filled my body with such an intense feeling of negative charge, that rivaled even the feelings of the worst of dark magics.

Still I soldiered on through, as his abhorrent energy began to burrow its way through my body and skin, healing me simultaneously as it went through. A very strange feeling. Especially from a completely foreign energy source that made me feel sick just by existing. Soon I would be filled by a similar strain of energy.

I thought I knew pain, having endured and inflicted it throughout my life, the feeling of having my dantian crack in front of my eyes, while it was being filled by foreign energy, that I couldn't trace or understand. It felt like a million volcanoes going off in my face, as a crisscross of needles intersected me millions of times, all while being eaten by sharks in a pit of acid, even that was barely comparable to the pain I felt. Unlike Elder Leos Verdant green power, this color was a lot weaker. A sickly yellow seemed to edge out of my dantian slowly, far from even the strong foundation of my Qi before I came here, this energy seemed like it would willow away at a moments notice.

It soon began to fester however, seeming more like pus off a wound than any great form of energy. Its reaches extended further and further, as it left the space where my dantian used to be, I could feel the properties of this new energy. It was built to drain and wound. To slowly bring all its opponents to death. Either in a tidal wave of pain, or a slow stream of ailments. A sickly energy that just brought death.

Elder Leo seemed to recoil away for a brief second before he caught himself.

That sent me into a panic. If his reaction to my energy was that bad, was he going to just kill me outright, or would I be imprisoned, forced into an eternity of suffering. I might not be the main soul, but that still doesn't mean I want that brought upon me.

"I never understood why my master reacted so badly to my crackening, till now that is. My your new energy is quite something, not as malevolent as my master but close, such is the randomness of it all I suppose, at least your constitution is perfectly suited to counteract and use such a force."

His nonchalance immediately calmed my panicked musings to a halt. He wasn't going to toss me into a torture chamber and toss away the key.

"How do you feel?"

How did I feel. I felt great actually, the energy slowly merging with my body as a whole, filling it with strength, replacing the void the QI left behind and creating something new and improved. I let it naturally flow through me, I had been subconsciously blocking its movements like a poisonous qi in my body.

My body was suddenly filled with immense strength.

A different strength than I have ever felt before. Not like the strength of Qi that could make you lift mountains, this one told me of the strength to kill and subjugate any opponent.

That all who stood before me in challenge would experience nothing but ruin and pain. I had always had those thoughts within me, this new form of power seemed to be fully supportive of my inclinations towards chaos. Seemed to revel in it, promised untold power If i just continued down the same path.

That brought me to a stop. I couldn't let anything have such control over me. I brought myself back together. Calmed myself with a breath. Detaching myself from the flow around my body that was slowly pushing me through foundation building. Soon I would reach Mid foundation building if this stream didn't let up.

"Impressive, it took me a far longer time than I would like to admit, to detach from the wants of this other power."

All I could do was nod my head in thanks.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity, I feel my strength even now, I am confident there are very few Foundation Building cultivators who could stand against".

His flick on the head was so fast I couldn't even see the blur, just the immense pain from it being the only indicator that it had actually happened.

"Do not be overconfident. There are many Hidden dragons and crouching Tigers, let alone in our Sect, in the greater world out there. You are never the strongest. You must remember that."

I nodded my head to seem chastised, but I had to disagree with Gramps there. I have yet to come across a foundation Building cultivator in all my travels in either body, that would be able to rival a continued assault from what I have become now. I was very confident about that.

"Good, now that you have come to grips with your power I will take my leave, report to me when you reach Core formation."

"Yes, Master"

Just like that he was gone.

If I cultivated diligently I would be able to break through at this current pace within a few days. That was not my plan however.

I let the energy in me circle faster and faster, until I felt the power break through a natural barrier within us all, meaning I had reached Mid Foundation Building.

With this strength, I could begin to stir some real chaos.
