Chereads / The Road to Nirvana / Chapter 5 - No Woman, No Cry

Chapter 5 - No Woman, No Cry

Dear diary,

Just got busy, you know how expensive shit is? Hurts my heart every time I see cute clothes and can't buy them... But I guess that's my new poor life.

Sorry I didn't talk to you for a while.

Shit has been hard, one of the guys doesn't like me... I don't know his name it wasn't important... But I worked pretty hard and got them a show but I hope they're as good as everyone says. I'm considering posting their show on YouTube ... Get them more popular in the social media sphere.

I don't really want anyone to see my face... You know why. But I'll figure out a way of removing it.

Dad almost caught me with Aarav but I think he didn't recognize me. I have to leave Chennai soon. The longer I stay here the farther away my dream is.

As far as I know... Dad hasn't filed the FIR against me... Which is good. I sold whatever I got from home too... so I have quite a bit of money saved up. But my bank account is frozen, so I'm keeping it in my bag, dangerous I know but I don't know what else to do.

Maybe I'll get some sort of box? One of those aesthetically pleasing wooden ones? With a puzzle as a lock? Maybe...

But till then it's in my bag. The blue one, it was the biggest one okay? I had to keep the bag in my suitcase.

Charu has become fed up with fighting with her mom for me... I feel so bad for myself; it's not self-pity... But I don't think I deserve all of this.

Jail time? Charges? Really? Just ...sad really.

Anyways diary, I have to prepare for the show, this manager thing sucks ! I'll go make the YouTube channel now. The band is already quite popular... one of the best bands in south India, but they're not really known out of India. So I have to get them out there.

I'll see you later diary!

"See. A woman is like a sea…" Aditya shouted to be heard against the wind. Darshan rolled his eyes and sped his bike up even more.

"Listen to my ass!" Aditya hit his head a woman is like the sea."

"Dirty?" Darshan asked, weaving in and out of traffic.

"No"

"Salty?"

"No!!"

"Then what ?!!" He shouted exasperatedly.

"Untamable" he replied making Darshan nearly swerve.

"Seriously?" He asked. Why he had even offered to drop this idiot home he didn't know

'Yes! So you have to stop trying to control them!" He gripped on to Darshan's shirt making him yelp

"Oi!, my shirt! Okay so. What's your point "

"Try to be nice to Jp?" He asked. Darshan growled, turning into a by lane.

He stopped by an apartment complex that genuinely looked like it was giving up. Aditya got down and adjusted his shirt while Darshan took off the helmet

"Only her FRIENDS can call her Jp" he mocked her," look you like her? So be it. Tie friendship bands and braid each other's hair. I don't care but I don't like spoiled brats"

Aditya sighed "but if you're mean to her, she will leave"

"Really? From the whole practice. That's what u infer?" he narrowed his eyes before combing his hands through his thick black hair.

"I think she's pretty" Aditya shrugged.

"She's also like seventy-five years older" Darshan chuckled.

"Yeah, oh that reminds me... I was searching for her on Facebook... she doesn't have a page?" He asked.

"Well ... I know I joke, but she's not really forty-five so why would she?" Darshan asked.

"No Instagram... No whats-app. And a small Nokia phone... With a few sim cards"

"What do you mean few?" Darshan asked," how do you know?"

"I saw her rummaging around in a big purse and there was a small plastic box thingy of cards," he said.

"Seems...suspicious" Darshan mumbled," anyway I'll try getting Aarav to figure it out"

Aditya stayed silent with a pouty expression while Darshan rolled his eyes.

"Calm down Nancy drew." he said and put on his helmet before starting the bike up "pick Nagma up for night's practice. Don't let her come alone"

He drove off leaving a frowning Aditya. He genuinely could not care less about the girl if he tried. Aditya on the other hand was very young... He was only 19 after all, barely knew what was good for him. Darshan had always been like a bigger brother to him. His family was not very well-to-do ... But they let him do what he wanted as long as Darshan was with him.

Darshan, on the other hand, was from an even poorer family, but he was also a freelance photographer who was doing quite well for being so young.

But he knew, Aditya meant well in all that he did...

As he drove onto the main road he could swear he saw Madhav walking. He turned his head and saw a girl holding his hand. A car honked and brought him to reality, he drove on.

Was it really him? Maybe he was dreaming.

---------

"Okay here's your house" Madhav smiled I'll come to pick you up at night?" He asked.

"Sure babe" Nagma grinned see you then"
