It has been two weeks since I agreed to the proposal , and the preparation for the wedding had already started last week . The wedding is set to take place on the 17th of next month . I feel like I would have forgotten the fact that I am the one whose getting married if not for my mother's frequent crying sessions when she remembers that I am going to get married soon . Both me and the groom are not allowed to know anything about the wedding . We haven't even been told the location where the wedding is taking place . So , I have to do nothing except select my wedding dress and show up on the wedding which is good for me as I am not very fond of taking holidays .
My parents have noted down all my preferences , from the colors of the decorations to the type of flowers I want and the groom has also been asked for his choices . When I asked my mother about this , she just told me that the plan is to combine both of our choices and decorate the wedding hall in such a way that it fulfills both of our wishes . I chose the colors white , silver and champagne . I like all three colors but they are not exactly my favourites . My favourite color is black but I can't choose black for a wedding , can I ? For the flowers I chose carnations which are among my favourite flowers .
The only thing left for me to do now is to select a wedding dress . My cousin Elizabeth is becoming my maid of honor and my friends Aria and Susan are becoming my bridesmaids .
I feel like everything is moving so fast . The day when I was playing hide and seek with my parents or when I was studying for my exams just feels like yesterday . Sometimes I just feel like time passes so quickly and it makes me want to cherish each and every moment of my life . Just when more thoughts were going to flood my mind , my mother called me .
" Alexandra , come downstairs , me and your father are waiting for you . "
" Okay . "
Today , we are going to choose my wedding dress . I was currently inside my house as I had taken a day off from work for this purpose . I quickly took my purse and went downstairs . I opened the door of the car and sat down . I hugged both my parents and then the quest to find a wedding dress started .

It was 10:00 in the morning when we had left for our quest and currently it is 7:00 pm . Even after searching for the whole day , I couldn't find something which made me feel happy and satisfied . Now we were going to enter the last shop which was present in New York . This place was my last hope , if I still do not find anything then we will have to go to the nearby cities for my wedding dress . Normally I am not very specific in things and if it was some other matter , then I would have already gone with any other option . But I know that this is the first and last time I am getting married , so I don't want to make any compromise .
We entered the shop named ' The Wedding Palace ' . I have heard quite alot about this shop , it is very famous among all the girls as the gowns here are magnificent but it is located on the outskirts of the city , so we kept it for last . The moment we entered , the staff came towards us and led us inside . We sat down and he started asking us about our preferences , after which he went and brought all the gowns which matched my taste . I tried the ones which I liked but in the end I was not impressed by any of them . All the gowns were beautiful but it's just that they were not meant for me . My last glimmer of hope vanished and we were going to exit the shop when my sight fell on something and I stopped .
" Alexandra , why did you stop ? " my mom asked but I was too awestruck to answer .
Soon she followed my line of sight amd froze for a second before her eyes brightened .
" Excuse me , can you please show us that dress . " She asked the staff member and pointed her hand towards the dress which had caught both of our eyes . Hearing her speak , I broke out of my reverie .
" Oh ! of course madam , I am so sorry I had completely forgotten about this dress . This is the latest piece which just came in yesterday and you are the first customers to view it . " said the staff member .
I asked for the dress so that I could try it on .
When I came out after wearing the dress , everyone present there froze . From the staff members to the other customers , no one moved from their place and everyone had their eyes on me .
Looking at their reaction and the emotions I was feeling , I knew that this dress was it . It was a white , backless , A-line , floor-length dress that had a not too deep V-neck neckline and was embellished with Swarovski crystals in some places . The fitted bodice was accentuating my figure and the flared tulle skirt was giving the dress an airy , angelic vibe . It was shimmering under the light and made me look and feel like a princess . It just felt like me . The dress also came with a long veil and a tiara .
So , we bought the dress along with the veil and tiara and finally our quest ended . As the dress was a bit loose in some areas , we had given the dress to them ( the wedding palace ) for the necessary alterations . Now , I had nothing else to do except waiting for the wedding day . The cake I selected for the wedding was a chocolate cake and a mint choco chip cake . The cake is going to be a multi tier cake , so I was able to choose 2 flavours .

After such a hectic day , my parents dropped me home and went back . I asked them to stay but they had some things to do so they declined . I opened the door and entered . Normally , I would have rushed to the bathroom to take a nice hot shower but today I stood near the door and appreciated the beauty of my sweet home . My house has a ground floor and a first floor . The ground floor has a kitchen with an adjoining dining room , the living room and my dear Ginger's and Sky's room . The first floor has the master bedroom aka my room , a room for my parents and a guest room . It is a medium-sized house but it is perfect for a person like me .
Until an year ago , I used to live with my parents but I decided to move out as I didn't like the way I had to disturb my parents during the middle of the night if I had to suddenly go to the hospital . Both my parents are very light sleepers so even if I try to quietly leave , they would always come to know and then my dad would insist on taking me to the hospital as he felt unsafe letting me go alone . So due to all these reasons , I decided to move out and then I rented this house . This house was perfect as it is close to the hospital and the area is safe .
The couple living in this house is currently staying abroad with their daughter who has just had a baby . They had gone to take care of their daughter who had just found out that she was pregnant . They are still staying there and helping her take care of the baby while she goes to work . It was a very lucky coincidence that we found each other otherwise I would have lost the opportunity to live in this beautiful house .
Even though I have lived in this house for less than a year , I have still created many wonderful memories while living here . Honestly speaking , I feel quite reluctant to leave this house but I know that it had to be done someday after all this is not my house .
I called the dog walker and asked him to walk my dogs as I barely had any energy to stand , much less , walk for another hour . After I handed the dogs to him , I went to the washroom and filled the bath tub with hot water . I even took some lavender scented bath salts and added them to the water . I love the scent of lavender , it always calms me and the best thing is that it is neither like those overpowering scents that give you a headache nor like those scents which you cannot even smell .
After taking a long soothing bath , I changed into my favourite P*kachu onesie . It is among the most comfortable onesies that I've ever bought . Then , I went to the kitchen and made some dinner for myself . I also filled the dog's bowls with food because I knew that they would straight away want to eat after their walk . Just when I finished everything , the door bell rang .....
