Chapter 38 - Chapter 37

In an instant, Calvin saw the rapidly reddening of Cooper's face. He bit back a laugh and smirked at him. Amusement was dancing in his eyes. Seeing Cooper so flustered was entertaining for him.

He waited for the idiot's response. Teasing him was his sort of enjoyment in his rather dull life.

"I-I... I didn't know! How am I supposed to know that!" Cooper's voice raised. His both hands smacked the top of the counter. "How do YOU know about it?!"

Calvin just raised his right eyebrow. "Unlike you, I have the brain to look at the backside of the box. You can see there what is it's purpose. Besides, I need to know what the customers are buying. I am the cashier after all."

Calvin was waiting for the boy's comeback. He looked at the seemingly innocent box that was smacked together with Cooper holding it in his right hand. Cooper noticed Calvin's sight and he remembered that he still have the box on his hands.

He hastily let go of it. "I don't want it! I just forgot that I have it!"

"I didn't even said something." Calvin said.

"It's in your eyes! I saw it. I knew what you are thinking!" He yelled and Calvin could tell that the idiot felt proud with himself. He was lucky that there's no one else except the three. It was rather embarrassing for a stranger to look at the two because of Cooper's shout.

He didn't feel like talking to Cooper so he put his earphones on. He was about to play the music when he heard Cooper's muttering. "What's even the purpose of this? Why is it flavored and why does it require a banana? Do you need to eat something while making babies?"

He could hear the confusion in Cooper. It was both annoying and amusing at the same time. This was the first time he met someone this... Ignorant.

"If you really want to know, then search it in Evighle. You can find your answers there." He suggested.

Cooper jumped a little when he heard Calvin. He was so into his thoughts that he didn't noticed him.

Cooper frowned. "Maybe. But papa said that you can't completely trust the internet. Some information there is made up and just rumors. I need someone who I can trust." He looked at Calvin. "Why don't you teach me what's it about. You said that you know about it too."

Calvin could, but talking about those things was rather awkward.

Cooper instinctively knew that Calvin was about to say no. He decided to use his not so secret weapon: his puppy eyes.

Making his eyes rounder, Cooper pouted and looked at Calvin straight to the eyes. "Please Cal, I promise that I will not pester you for one day. Please?"

Calvin tried to look away, he can't. There's this force that will make you look at Cooper's puppy face and will make you do Cooper's bidding.

It's not that pulling, but it's there. Calvin sighed. Cooper perked up, he knew that Calvin will do it.

Calvin looked at Cooper. "Fine." he said, annoyed.

"Yes!" Cooper celebrated.

"But not now." Calvin added. "I have a job to do. Some other time."

Although a little bit sad, Cooper understands and nods.

There was a moment of silence.

"...Are you still buying that?" Calvin teasingly asked. He smirked at Cooper whose head looked like a maracas because of the shaking.

"I'll buy something else!" Cooper ran... slowly? Calvin was a bit confused or rather he didn't know what to call it.

Calvin shook his head and turned on the player. Classical music was playing on his earphones.

What an amusing idiot. That put a smile on his lips.

Cooper went to an aisle where Kristine was. He was going to complain about why Kristine didn't gave an elaborate explanation. Now Calvin had the chance to call him stupid.

How was he supposed to know about that kinds of stuff? He didn't felt curious to know about it. Before, he thought that if the couple was married, they automatically have kids. Growing up and learning about the parts of the body, he knew that it's not the case. He still felt awkward talking about it outside of a school.

He saw Kristine with Adrian. She was whispering something that made Adrian frowned. Cooper hid behind the other side and listened to their talk. He felt like a spy right now.

He made a gun out of his hand while listening. There isn't any purpose other than for entertainment.

"Cooper I know you're in there. Stop hiding." Kristine said.

Cooper was surprised about it. How could they know? He was sneaky about it. Maybe it's just a tactic for him to come out even though they really didn't know that he's here.

He heard Adrian sighed. "Come out now Cooper."

Cooper stood out from his hiding place and looked at the two the tilted his head. "How do you know that I'm in there?"

Kristine answered. "You bumped the shelf when you hid and you are giggling. Now tell me why is it easy for us to find you?"

Cooper frowned. He didn't remember giggling and bumping. What?

Seeing that Cooper was becoming dizzy thinking, Adrian get his attention. "Have you decided about what would you buy?"

Cooper shook his head. "There is one but it's not what I thought it is so none."

Kristine spoke. "Wait, if you didn't asked what is it about, you will buy it?"

Cooper nodded. He was curious and he will but it to experiment about it.

Kristine bursted laughing while Adrian looked confused, he didn't know what is it after all.

Cooper blushed. "I will buy something else!"

"What was the thing that Cooper's about to buy?" Adrian asked.

Kristine was about to told Adrian when Cooper put his hand on her mouth. He glared at her. "Don't you dare tell him."

Now Adrian had question marks surrounding his head.

Kristine licked Cooper's hand and it made him removed it. Cooper looked at his hand with disgust.

"It's condom." Kristine laughed. "He was about to buy a condom."

Adrian's jaw dropped.
