Chapter 25 - Chapter 24

Things are a little awkward at the room. I can't totally focus on the discussion if everytime I met Mrs. Kennedy's eyes, she will glare at me. That's why my eyes is either stuck on the ground or staring at my doodles at the back of my notebook. You know those fancy 'S' and some stickmans? Yeah that.

Before, if I have a question, I always raised my hands to ask for clarification but if I raised my hands now, she will ignore me as if I am not existing. If I am confused at something, I resolved it by asking Ari about it.

We have an assignment but it is only one which make my classmates sigh in relief. That made me proud of myself... then I remembered that it is the reason why Mrs. Kennedy hate me.

The class ended with glares and hatred. Sigh, that is why, I, having an honest face is bittersweet .

Me, Ari and Riri are walking to our next class. Cal is already in there... I think. Well he didn't fall asleep and he is much faster at walking away from the Science room so I guess that he's already there.

"Are you okay Cooper? Mrs. Kennedy glares at you everytime she sees you. What happened?" Riri asked, concerned at the sudden hatred our Science teacher is giving me.

"Well, you know two know that Norvyn went here right?" I said.

"Yeah, I noticed him. Oh, is that why Mrs. Science said that someone is looking for you? It's Norvyn? Why is he even here? To check on you?" Riri realized it but still confused.

"I may have told papa about the assignments. He is supposed to be the one coming here but because he is busy about the business, he let Norvyn come here."

"Oh, so that's what happened." Riri nodded after I clarified some things.

"Uhm, are we still going to start the group study later?"

"Yes, we need to review for this upcoming exam. While we're on it, let's do our assignments too and help each other." Ari suggested.

That's... not a bad idea. "Okay!" I said.

And we continue to our destination.

* * * * * *

The day ended with no mishaps. It's time to go study... again. Study, study, study! Why do we have to study?! It's exhausting OTZ.

We are now here in my home (we are always here) with Calvin, although he reluctantly go with us after I used my secret weapon. Puppy face for the win!

We decided to study in the garden for the change of view, that's what Riri said.

We really should go back in the house because it is getting dark. We are lucky that there are mini lights here... you know those little bulbs that are connected by wires? I ask Norvyn about it when he is delivering our snacks here and he said that it is called fairy lights. I don't know why it is called fairy light even though it is not shaped like a fairy but okay.

"Sooo what's first?" asked Riri who is sitting on a metal chair.

"Hmm, maybe we can answer our assignment first then we can go reviewing for the exam, how's that?" I suggested.

"Great idea Cooper." said Ari. He was sitting right next to me. Well, because the table is circular in shape, Riri is sitting in front of me while Cal is in my left.

We got our activity sheets. "I will read the instruction! I love reading!" Oops! My voice is so loud. I can't help it though. I like reading because I get to voice the characters and when I am doing that, I really feel like a different person. Books made me experience things that I've never experience before. It's like... I am really the protagonist of the story. It's that or I am delusional. Being stuck in the house for years will make you crazy.

They nodded and waited for me to speak. "Kuhum, read the questions carefully. Each questions are five sentences minimum?! Ugh why five? Why not no minimum ugh!"

"It's okay Cooper maybe the sentences are eas- nope. This is hell." Riri changed from hopeful to it being crushed.

"Maybe, maybe it's my fault. Telling papa about it. Even though three assignments in a day are excessive, at least it's not that hard but this? This one assignment is like six works in total. I'm sorry guys, I shouldn't have told papa about this. Now we are suffering."

"Don't be stupid." Cal said, leaning on the chair with his handkerchief covering his face. I looked at him surprised. Is that supposed to be comforting? If it is, at least he tried.

"Calvin! Cooper is not stupid, he is sometimes, maybe dramatic but you don't have to say that." Riri reprimanded him. Ouch, never thought that's what I look like to you QAQ.

"They are right Cooper, not what they said but what they mean: it is not your fault." Ari explained. I nodded and smiled at them. "Thanks guys for comforting me... if it's even called comforting." I mumbled the last words of me complaining.

Cal sit up straight taking our attention. "Shall we start now? I don't have all day and I need to go to my job."

"Wait, you have a job?"

"Yes I have, is there a problem with having one?" Cal narrowed his eyes.

"N-no! None at all! Uhhh yes! Assignments, we have to do the assignments. Number one question is..." Phew, great job Cooper for changing the subject. You deserve a pat in the back. Pat pat.

"Uhm Cooper, why are you patting yourself in the back?" asked Riri.

"It's nothing. Come on let's continue what we're doing."

"If you say so." she said, looking at her sheet.

While they are busy with answering the questions, I'm gonna treat myself with this dark chocolate cupcake. Mmmm, so yummy. It's bitter yet it's sweet, the contrary.

"Cooper!" I jumped when Riri suddenly called my name. "Yes?"

"Stay. Focused." she emphasized every words. Oh, oops hehe.

"Sorry sorry." I said putting down the cupcake and picking up my activity sheets.

It is SERIOUS TIME.
