Cooper's P.O.V
The second class went smoothly. We just introduced each other again, and that's it. It's nice to meet new people!
"Haaaaah." Adrian sighed. Well, I guess I'm the only one who's excited to meet strangers.
"Finally, I'm starving! I didn't get to eat breakfast because I woke up late." exclaimed Kristine.
"Well, you should've slept early. You know that today is the first day of school." I said.
"I knooow I just can't sleep because, as you mentioned, school."
"Wow. You're that excited to go to school?"
"No. I'm that anxious to go to school. I don't want the vacation to be over ugh!" she complained.
.... oh.
I nodded, showing that I understand her concern. But I truly did not understand. Was going to school that awful?
As we walked near to the cafeteria, the noises became loud. Kristine pushed the door, making the noise louder. I can't even hear myself.
We went in line and ordered some food. Kristine ordered twice what I bought.
Adrian... well, he just ordered some sandwiches and water.
"... You sure you can finish that, Kris?" I asked.
"Yes, I can and don't call me Kris it sounds like a boy's name." Said Kristine with a hint of dislike in her voice.
"So what should I call you?"
"Anything but not Kris, please."
I laughed.
"Ok! How about... Ummm... Riri? Adrian is Ari and you are Riri!" I exclaimed.
"Willn't that be confusing? Those two names sound the same."
"I'm sorry. I'm not that good at making names."
"No! You shouldn't be sorry! It's ok you don't have to be sad. The nickname is good, it's just a bit confusing." Kristine said hurriedly.
"Oh, okay Riri!" I beamed at her.
"Phew." She exhaled like she just escaped some big crisis.
"Stop talking and finish your food now. We only have 15 minutes left before our next class." Adrian or Ari said. He was finished in eating his own food.
"Well, fifteen minutes is still long sooo... Cooper do you know that guy who just barge d in our first class?" Riri asked.
"Yeah, his name is Calvin."
"Oh sooo, what's his age? His preferences? Gasp! Does he like D or P? Oooh or maybe both?"
D or P? What's that? Donuts or pies?
"I don't know. I don't know him." I shrugged.
"But you just sai—"
"He said that he knows him, his name, not personally." Ari cut in. Yeah, that's what I meant.
"Thank you, Evighle. So he's hot, right?" She said to me.
"Hmmm, he's ok. I don't really know what the category is to tell someone if he or she is hot or not."
"Ugh! You're frustrating me a bit. Okay, you can tell it if he's hot or not, if he's hot or not. Get it?"
...
Wut?
"No..." That explanation made it more confusing!
"Ok let's just eat. I'm tired of explaining."
"Okay!"
~~~
The day was uneventful. Now it's time to go home. I can't wait to tell what happened to Papa! I made sooo many friends.
Adrian and I went to the parking lot so we could get the car. Of course, Ari will drive because I still can't drive.
While we were just going to the parking lot, I heard voices. There was a sound of someone who was grunting, someone moans because of pain and a lot of fighting. In the corner, I saw Calvin being beaten by some guys.
"Ari! There's someone fighting! Calvin is hurt, we should help him!"
"No, we're not going to do that. We are not going to meddle somebody's business."
"But he's hurt!" I insisted.
"Okay listen Cooper, if we meddle with them we're gonna be in trouble and I don't want you to be hurt because your father will be mad at me. Remember your promise? You shouldn't be hurt or you will go back to home schooling. You don't want that, don't you?" Ari asked.
Sigh. Adrian is right. But are we really not going to do anything to stop them?
"I understand, but we should still not leave him like that, he's our classmate after all. We can call Ms. H." I suggested.
"Sigh, okay I will tell her. Stay here and do not move." Ari said with a stern voice. I nodded and then he ran.
Please be faster...
"Urgh!"
I hurriedly glanced at Calvin. Please hold on. Help will come soon.
I'm getting back my words. This is not uneventful!
"The next time you see us, run away 'cos this is not the only thing you will get from me." The guy said arrogantly and laughed. The other guy laughed too.
How can they laugh at someone being beaten? Do they have loose screws?
"Cooper!" I looked back and saw Adrian with Ms. H and some guards.
Finally!
The guards ran and stopped those guys from continuing bullying Calvin.
I ran to Calvin, not daring to touch him in case I touch his wounds.
"Are you okay?" Ugh! Stupid Cooper! Of course he's not okay!
"I mean, did that hurt a lot? Wait. No, of course it hurt a lo—"
"Stop."
Huh?
I looked at him. Did he talk?
"Stop talking. Not only my body hurts my mind too because of your incessant yapping."
"Sorry. I'm just worried."
He looked at me.
"Just... stop and get away from me."
I nodded. Standing up and walking to Ari. Maybe Ms. H should do it.
"Mr. Myers, Mr. Price, thank you for telling this. You should go home now." Ms. H said.
"Okay. We're gonna go now." Ari said.
I glanced at Calvin. He's face was black and blue. I hope this will never happen again.
"Bye Ms. H, bye Calvin."
Ms. H smiled at me while Calvin just ignored me.
We got in the car and left. I think we have the climax of our day. Now, I have more stories to tell to Papa.
