A brunette sighed, examining a Hershey's bar as if it were the most interesting thing in that little convenience store. She looked around for a moment before pocketing the candy. The girl then was stopped before leaving the store, and forced to give up the chocolate at the counter. She walked out of the place with a huff.
A boy who just screamed "Greaser" in the way he dressed then walked out of the store and stopped in front of her. He pulled a Hershey's bar out of his pocket and held it out to her. "I figured you might be interested in this. I don't see why, it's only chocolate." He stated bluntly as she took it. She looked like he had just called her ugly. "Only chocolate? This is literally my will to live right here, thank you." The girl then smiled a little bit, almost like a puppy might smile. The guy shrugged at her. "Hey, it's no problem Doll." Her expression immediately changed to a death-glare. "Do not call me Doll. I'm not your girlfriend, bud."
He just chuckled and after a moment realized she was walking away. He caught up to her and draped an arm around her. "Hey, wait a minute, I didn't get your name." She shrugged his arm off and stopped at the bus stop. "You didn't ask, and you never gave me yours. I didn't have a reason to." A bus pulled up and she stepped on. She hesitated on the last step up. "If you really wanna know, come find me tomorrow." And then, the bus doors slammed close, and the boy watched as the bus drove away.
The brunette from the day before looked up as the greaser walked up to her. She smiled a little. "Well, if it isn't the chocolate thief in the flesh." He shrugged and leaned against the wall of a building beside her. "You did say if I wanted your name, I needed to come find you. So-" He pulled out a cigarette and lit it- "are you going to tell me or what?" She rolled her eyes in a playful fashion. "Skylar. It's Skylar." The greaser just looked at her and mumbled "That's pretty."
Skylar tilted her head a bit and smirked. "What was that?" He looked away and shook his head. "Nothing, nothing. I'm Jack, nice to meet you." He watched as she nodded and looked away from him.
He followed her gaze to a brand-new black Mustang. "What exactly are you doing?" Skylar responded pretty casually with, "Debating whether I want to risk slashing this guy's tires or not." She looked at him with a questioning gaze. "Why do you wanna know?" Jack looked surprised for a split second before leveling out his expression. "You don't exactly come across as a professional criminal." She looked around and said, "I'm sorry let me just turn into Bonnie Parker or something." Jack couldn't help but chuckle at that.
After a moment, Skylar pulled out a switchblade with a flame decal and flicked it open. "I've made up my mind, those tires look a bit too new. I think they need scuffed up a bit." She then looked at Jack and shooed him away, to which he obeyed.
Jack looked behind him as Skylar ran up. She looked like she had been through a hurricane. "What happened to you?" She looked behind her as she said, "Um, a slight miscalculation. At least they didn't have a blade." He chuckled and looked her over a bit closer. "You, um... you have a leaf in your hair." She looked up at him as he gently picked it out and smoothed her hair down. Biting her lip, she glanced down and said, "Thanks." He smiled. "No problem."
Jack then thought for a second. "How'd you like to come meet a few friends of mine?" She looked at him and shrugged. "Yeah, sure. Sounds like fun." He then grinned at her. "Great! Come on then." He started to walk away as Skylar just stood there. "Wait a minute, you mean right now? Right this second?" He stopped walking and turned towards her. "Yeah, why not? They don't bite." He smirked at her. "Well, I might if you ask nicely." She made a gagging motion and walked toward him. "You're delusional if you think I have the hots for you." Jack shrugged. "Well, it was worth a shot. Now, we better get moving if we wanna meet them before they go to the movies or whatever."
He then started walking again, leaving her in the dust. She started walking to catch up, but was practically jogging to be able to walk beside him. "You're too fast! Why do you walk so fast?" He smiled at her. "I think you'll find that your short little legs are keeping you from walking at a normal pace." Skylar stuck her tongue out at him. "No, you're just freakishly tall." Jack just shrugged. "Maybe it's both." She punched him in the arm playfully and he ruffled her hair. The two were already on their way to becoming fast friends.
