"Your parents asked for your presence, Ms. Alexa."
It's been two weeks since Alia returned to their ancestral house, living with her parents once again. And it's been two weeks, since her sister's death. She managed to contain her anger towards her parents and was able to act civil whenever they were to interact.
Also no one inside their mansion suspected anything about her not being Alexa. She managed to act, talk and interact like Alexa, even though it was such a pain trying to be serious and stoic at all times.
'How the hell can she act like this all the time? It's fucking tiring!' Alia thought while trying not to smile like how she always does before, when she was still Alia, and not Alexa.
"Where?" She asked not bothering to look at the maid. She's busy sorting the files she's been reading that includes the information about their company and everything else about it.
"At the main study, Ms." She maid spoke lowly which caught her attention.
Alexa's way of interacting and speaking really scares everyone around her. As much as she wants to interact with their maid and everyone else nicely, that'll ruin the whole Alexa facade she's been putting on.
"Very well, tell them I'll be there in a minute." Alia gave the maid a side way glance which made the latter flinch at the eye contact.
Alia sighed. Well, She has to get used to it, if she wants this to last, and for no one finding out.
She stood up from where she's sitting and made her way out of her sister's room. It was a pain, and it was really uncomfortable sleeping in her sister's chambers the first night up until now. She feels like she's going through her sister's personal space. But who is she kidding? She even has her sister's identity now, and here she is, bothered by her sleeping in her sister's room. The irony.
As Alia walked across the isles of their house, every maid and attendants that she comes across with, would either bow at her, turn their backs pretending they are cleaning or they would simply just run by the mere sight of her.
She sighed. Everyone's treating her like she has some contagious disease and it's making her feel uncomfortable and irritated. What the hell is wrong with her sister acting this way? She doesn't act like this whenever she was with her before.
Reaching the main study, she composed herself and knocked on the door three times. Upon hearing a low response telling her to come in, She turned the knob and made her way inside the room.
Inside the room revealed both her parents looking like they were waiting for her to come. Both were seated comfortably at the sofa sipping wine while talking in a hushed whisper.
"Mother, Father. You called for me?" Alia said as she made her way towards her parents.
Her mother, Quina, glanced at her direction for a second but then went back to quietly sipping her wine as if she saw and heard nothing. Alia bitterly smiled. Thankfully she's used to both her parents doing this to her, if not, she might have broken down in front of them both once again.
"Alejandria, has Tanya taught you everything already?" her father asked while sipping his wine looking straight into her eyes with his cold gaze.
Rolling her eyes would be something that Alia would have done if this was a different circumstance, but it isn't so she refrained herself from doing so. Instead, she gave them a small smile and nodded her head, yes.
"Yes, father. I was able to learn everything there is to know regarding the company," she sighed. "and Alexa." her voice turned low at the mention of her sister.
Quina scoffed hearing Alia mention her precious daughter's name.
No matter how much Alia tries to ignore her parents' reactions regarding he mentioning her sister, she couldn't. She knows how much it broke both her parents knowing their precious daughter died because of the family's black sheep, her.
The fight between her and her parents is something she wants to bury deep down her memory lane, and if given the chance, she would love to have that memory erased permanently in her mind. It was the most horrible thing that's ever happened to her, and even the mere sight of her parents would remind her of that event.
That's one of the many reasons she chose to leave their house and wholeheartedly accept being disowned by her parents. It was the best way for her to stop the ceaseless nightmares that would visit her every night caused by her parents and also because she wished for freedom from her parents' hold.
Now, because of what happened to her sister, she's now back to the life she chose to forget. Above all, she, once again returned to being her parents' dog. An ever so obedient dog.
But this time, she swore to never let her parents have their way in her life, or now, hers and her sister's. She swore to take revenge, and to make sure her parents are never to raise their heads in front of her. What they did to her was inhumane, and for that, she seeks revenge. She'll make her sister proud, she'll make them pay, and have them taste hell.
"Very well. You may leave. Get yourself ready, you'll start working at the company starting tomorrow, in the place of Alexa, as the Vice President." His father told her, looking at her with his eyes as stoic and cold as always.
Alia mumbled a small approval and made her way towards the door, leaving the room.
Just as she was about to close the door of the room, she heard her mother spoke.
"Do well, Alejandria. Don't disappoint us once again."
She heeded no attention to what her mother said and firmly closed the door.
As she heard the door made a sound, she sighed.
'They'll fucking pay. Hell will stand as my witness as I cast their fall' Alia thought as she clenched her teeth and curled her fists.
As she walked through the halls of their house, her eyes held fury which made everyone she'd walk pass through either flinch or whimper. Who wouldn't? They've seen Alexa cause chaos and get mad, and it caused a traumatic experience to some of their maids. Add the fact that they know nothing about Alia being Alexa now. Little do they know, the Alexa they knew before is nothing compared to the Alexa they're seeing now.
Boy, Alia's far worse when mad.
Upon reaching Alexa's room, Alia dived into her sister's bed not minding what she's wearing. She's too preoccupied to even think of having a change of clothes. As Alia was about to drift off to dreamland, a sudden knock on her door pulled her out of sleepiness. She lifted her head away from resting it on her pillow and drowsily looked at the door.
"Alexa, are you there?" hearing her father's assistant's voice, she flopped her head on the pillow once again before answering in a muffled voice.
"Alexa, I'm coming in." announced Tanya.
Tanya then shook her head seeing Alia flopped in bed wearing improper clothes.
'This girl has got serious problems in maintaining elegance and poise.' she thought walking towards the walk in closet and picking up a set of sleepwear for Alia to change into.
"Alia, get up. You need to change." she said poking the sleeping girl.
Alia only grunted and shifted her position before peacefully sleeping once again.
Tanya mentally facepalmed and did the changing of Alia's clothes, herself. After that, she sighed and looked at the girl sleeping peacefully with adoration and pity.
She knew everything what the young girl was going through, she's been with them since they were ten. She saw how differently the twins grew up, and how differently their parents raised them both. She knew how fragile Alia was before, and she's happy seeing this young child grew up strong.
With a smile on her face, she headed towards the door of the room and made her way out. She must prepare everything Alia would need for tomorrow. And she must prepare herself, upon guiding the young child live as her older twin.
For from tomorrow onward, Alia will never be Alia again. Alia will be buried deep within, and only Alexa will remain. That's the only way for her little one to survive. And she'll do everything to keep her surviving.
