Chapter 40 - Persuasion 100

(Author thingy)

I'm gonna try to do at least every Sunday and upload.

I know that isn't a lot but I hope some consistency helps me get stuff more under control.

(Valery POV)

There I was in the middle of a previously dimly lit forest looking at my sister Mia holding grace up by the neck against the tree.

Grace was struggling. Clawing at Mia's right arm which held her firmly by the throat and up against the tree. Her legs were flailing about trying to kick Mia hard enough so she would let go of her but that rarely ever works and this case is no exception... or is it?.. no it isn't. Mia had already planned the ultimate countermeasure she stood a bit to the side and at arm's length. Kicking someone in front of you is easy because you can reach the furthest like that but trying to kick someone sideways is a lot harder because you have a lot less reach unless you do yoga but that's just cheating.

Mia was looking at Grace with complete and utter contempt in her eyes. And everyone in about a 20-kilometer radius suddenly knew someone had pissed off the wrong person.

Mia's previously beautiful long black hair has become red, her eyes too have changed into a bright red-orange type of color and she sprouted nine tails and all of them were set ablaze which lit up the forest very well.

"DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE TRY AND BARGAIN THAT INFORMATION WITH ME YOU GODDAMN ATTENTION SEEKING WHORE"

I realized immediately grace wasn't going to survive this if I didn't step in.

So I considered my options I could let Mia kill her which would be more beneficial in the short run. If I let Grace get killed we'd be rid of our dead weight, one of our rival siblings is gone and most importantly she wouldn't be able to take my little Sammy away from me.

But she has quite a few allies most would betray her the second they get the chance but some would genuinely want revenge and out enemies will use them to bring us down if I could I would throw Mia under the bus (what is a bus I don't know but I'm throwing Mia under one) for that but I think they see us too much as a team so they'll bring down the both of us regardless. And grace has a lot of information she's blackmailing a whole bunch of powerful beings so it would be stupid of her if she doesn't have some kind of fail-safe that releases all the information this dissuades people from assassinating her and some will even defend her so their information won't get leaked. If the info does get leaked it will cause quite a bit of chaos and we won't be untouched by this chaos I know for a fact some of the higher-ups in our kingdom are being blackmailed by her we only keep them around to feed her miss information.

I put my hand calmly on Mia's right arm which was still holding the struggling and grunting grace up against the tree.

Het head turned to me and we looked at each other in the eyes. She slowly calmed down and the muscles in her right arm began to relax and the fire in her eyes began to dim.

Grace slumped to the ground and lay there coughing quite profusely.

I whispered to Mia "you can probably feel it too but Sam is somewhere nearby I can't pinpoint the exact location but that doesn't matter as there is only one person in this neck of the woods who could've known about Sam and have taken him as well Genevieve. I'll talk to grace to ask her who took Sam Jenny probably had help from someone you go scout the perimeter to make sure no one is spying on us and place some lights around for more visibility."

Mia stared at me for a few seconds it was obvious her rationality and pride were conflicting with each other but after a few seconds, her rationality seems to have won. Mia walked away reluctantly starting her survey and I stayed where I was to revel at the moment I had just achieved a great victory in The Who is the better sibling war.

After the moment was over I turned my attention to grace who was still slumped against a tree and I got ready to turn on my charm and use some of my excellent persuasion techniques which most definitely doesn't consist of torture.
