(Mathilda POV)
We've been riding for about a week now. We brought some tents with us so we can sleep in them at night. It has been raining quite a bit so I'm glad we brought them with us. Luckily though tonight should reach a village where we can stay at the inn.
We are planning on staying there a couple of days to see if we can find any interesting people who we could maybe convert to our cause. And I would have a look around the darker parts of town to see if there are any useful rumors about people like nobles doing bad things and hiding it from their subjects (most nobles are hiding some really bad stuff) and potentially rallying people against this noble.
Don't get me wrong I don't care what those nobles do as long as they don't get in the way of me and Sam. But if we can successfully pull a stunt like other throwing a corrupt noble nobody likes it would be a lot of publicity for us and if we start a company then we would already have a good reputation and people would be more inclined to come and check us out and support us when the church or other businesses try to hinder us.
Olivia and Julie are planning on going to join a monster hunter guild. As you can probably already guess they hunt monsters there.
How it works is that the guild gets requests in this case to exterminate monsters who are causing problems from the person or people who are being terrorized. If they want to post a request in the guild for people to kill the monster they have to at least say what kind of monster it is and give a informed estimate as to how many there are. If any information given is purposefully wrong or they just guessed something they will get a hefty fine and they won't be able to request anything from the guild for a couple of months depending on how dangerous it was that they gave misinformation. Then depending on the danger of the hunt there will be a minimum they must pay if they want they can pay more than the minimum and make it more likely for a hunter to accept the request. A percentage of the reward money will be kept by the guild and the rest will be given to the hunter
You have 2 types of hunters that work at the guild. The 1st one is a hunter who works for themselves and 2nd the ones who work for the guild. Both have their benefits the 1st ones gets to pick and choose whichever request they accept so if they wanted they could just not accept any requests but they wouldn't make any money and they aren't bound to one guild they can travel the world going from village to village accepting requests till they find a place they want to stay. Though if they can't work for some reason like they're sick or something they don't get payed apart from if you got injured during work because the information given was incorrect then you will be given a healing potion or the guild will send over a healer to heal you and they will also pay you a lot of money depending on the damages caused to your physical and mental health.
The 2nd ones still get to choose requests to do in their spare time but during the week they'll have to cooperate in some requests the guild assigned them if they want to or not. They also get a health insurance for if they get wounded. Though they can be sent to other regions they are still bound to the guild they work for. They do get payed better and get some paid vacations.
To be able to work for the guild you have to send a request with a filled out forum of some of your personal data you can get one at the reception. If they like what they see they'll give you some test the next time you are at the guild these test test your combat abilities and your knowledge about different monsters and your general knowledge on how to survive in the wilderness. If the6 like what they see they'll hire you.
It can also be that you have been working at the guild for a while and they have noticed your outstanding performance and they'll take the initiative in inviting you to join the guild.
Now this is only the monster hunting guild and there are a bunch others like alchemy, sorcery even gathering and mapping guilds exist and many others though they don't all work the same but I ain't explaining how every single one works because I'd still be busy tomorrow.
When Olivia and Julie join the guild Julie will register as a healer seeing as necromancy is frowned upon at best and she used to be a pretty good healer not the best but probably better than anyone in that town. Olivia will register as a fighter she has become quite proficient with daggers and her speed has increased quite a bit.
When they are in they'll have a look around to see if there is any interesting people there with potential and if there have been any major tragedies because we know now that our dolls filled with Sam's energy works faster with mentally unstable people so if there was a big tragedy somewhere we could bank of of all the hart broken people and lay a pretty good foundation for us to build of of.
We've also tested wether the dolls work on men and it doesn't seem so. We found a couple o& days ago a small camp of about 5 men not sure what they were could've been bandits could've been normal people doesn't matter.
We put a doll just in the bushes close to their camp hidden just enough that it wasn't easy to see but not so hidden nobody would ever see it. We waited for a couple of hours to see if any of them would see the doll finally a guy with short blond hair and blue eyes came towards where the doll was hidden. As he was walking this way his eyes fell on the doll he walked closer to see what it was and eventually picked it up out of the bushes to get a good look at it. He was staring at it for a little bit turning the doll around to see if there was anything interesting on it but it was just a completely white doll without even a face. He just tossed it back and started pissing on it.
Let's just say that that was his last mistake he would ever make and very much regrets doing it probably the most he's regretted anything in his life.
We kept on riding for another couple of hours and the sun started to set but then as the sun was nearly under we saw the village in the distance.
"Watch out people of this village here we come."
