The meeting with the Ital Royals had gone exactly as Marco had predicted. The lavish gifts of fine fabrics, jewelry, and Fae wares were more than enough to earn their support against his younger brother. Or any other threats their alliance might face.
When Marco began to elaborate on the other side of his plan, the Ital King became worried that his authority would be threatened. As they shared hushed whispers in the corner of the room, it seemed as though Marco was simply convincing him with words. Had anyone approached the two, they might've realized that wasn't the case at all.
At some point, Marco had leaned in while discussing the upcoming meeting. When he'd placed his hand on the Ital King's shoulder, Marco had funneled a small amount of his Dark and Ether magic into him. Both his action, and the ensuing effect had taken only moments.
