There was a pop, a loud crack under my feet.
My legs collapsed on the marble floor.
The floor pressed up against my body hard.
I couldn't move.
My limbs wouldn't budge.
I was tired.
I was sick.
Anyone who walked by might have thought I was dead, but I was very much alive.
I was avoided by everyone, except those with pity.
My heart still beat.
I could count my inhales in my ears.
One....
Two....
Three.....
Four....
I felt like I would puke. Vomit. Everywhere. People would avoid- no.
There was a tight knot in my stomache, one that was tied many times before.
What is this?
I attempted to move my arm or my elbow. It was difficult, but there was slow progression.
My prosecutor walked past me- proud of themself. I could call it a he, but he was a she.
There was many of her. Everywhere. Everytime I met a new person, it was always her. It made me sick. My stomache was in pain.
Everyone was like her, a copy of the last person, a robot. A person with the same mind, beliefs, ideas, voice, and looks. I'm scared that those who I love most will turn to her and become apart of the collection, but my greatest fear is that I could become one of them.
A young boy ran to me-seeing I was on the floor. He asked me if I was okay. I responded faintly that I couldn't move and that I have seen some odd things. My voice was quiet, almost to a whisper. My voice sounded like someone who had awoken from a slumber, still groggy and wanting to sleep. The young man stared at me as if I was insane. I can't blame him. NOTHING happened. No one hurt me. No one did anything to me. I must have been hallucinating in his mind. I thought he would help me , but instead he was filled with fear. His skin grew pale. His eyes wide. He was afraid of me. Not a moment too soon, he ran to his friends. They stared at me as if I killed someone. My mind came back to the cold floor and the girl who walked past me. I imagined the girl having a smile on her face, like she won a fight. Walking with a swagger, and everyone staring in her direction. My mind came back to, there was a black room and someone screamed, " Nurse!"
"That was all I remember, doctor."
