(As Kai & Rai continue blasting a wave of fire against Kol's wall of ice, Kol decides to go on the offensive by suddenly creating a hole through the ice and fires a blast of ice so cold that it freezes their combined flame. As the ice spreads, both Kai & Rai jump away to avoid the attack.)
Kol: So you were saying?
Rai: Heh. An impressive feat you just accomplished, Kol. Got any more tricks up your sleeve?
Kol: I've got a few.
(Just as Kol says this, he begins to shoot ice shards from his hands as both Rai & Kai jump, dodge and maneuver around the area. They then dash towards him while cutting and slashing through ice shards with their weapons and immediately closes the gap between them. It's here when they begin fighting with Kai & Rai attacking Kol relentlessly, but Kol keeps his cool as he slowly begins to learn their attack patterns and begins to dodge and land quick and precise strikes that give him space to breathe. Kai then plunges toward Kol with his dagger in hand but misses. As he turns around, Kol hits him in the gut with a powerful ball of ice energy that sends flying back, crashing into the wall, followed by an explosion that leaves behind ice particles. After this, Kol then turns his attention to Rai.)
Rai: You know...Not a lot of people can say that they defeated my brother, Kai. In fact, this is the very first time I've ever seen him lie on his back in this matter. I tell from who your father was, and by how you fight that you are the real deal with it comes to the Uesugi Clan, am I right in saying this?
Kol: Yes. It's no secret that once the time came that I was looked at in being the next one to lead, but as you already know that can not happen now...Thanks to you and your brother, that will never happen. So you question my skill? Yes, I am the very best of my clan. In fact, I'm one of the most proficient fighters in this entire kingdom, I have carried out some of the most daunting of tasks for my family, clan, and kingdom! So...Not only have you killed my entire clan, killed a member of my family and now threatened to destroy my kingdom, you've just now have disrespected me not only as a fighter but as a Para. You and your brother have said many times over that you want to kill me and my sisters. Believe me, when I say before the day is over one of you, be it you or your brother won't have a tomorrow.
Rai: May I ask what makes you so certain of this?
Kol: You see that's the thing...I'm not certain of it. Hell, you could kill me now and it would be the end of it. Maybe at the end of the day, it's all of four of us who's dead in this grand scheme of your comrade at the gate.
Rai: And if that were to happen, all four of us dying here. Would you be satisfied with that outcome?
Kol: I would...But with all this anger, this rage and hatred I have flowing through me, the chances of that happening are nonexistent.
Rai: I am ecstatic to hear how you truly feel, Kol, because what you're feeling right now believe or not is the very same thing me and my brother felt what feel like years ago now. When we were eight, our home was burned down. Our family was chased like animals and was put down all the same. Years went on as me and Kai both hoped and dreamed for the moment that we'd finally get to enact our revenge upon the man responsible. You know right after we had destroyed your clan, I sat down and thought to myself...I must be living in an endless loop. The only thing that had changed was that the coin was flipped and it was us who were the murderers. And it brings me so much clarity now telling you that killing your father gave me some form of release. It was as if he was the one who killed my people and burned down our homes. So...As you are now aware, this is just as personal for me as it is for you, Kol.
(Upon hearing this, Kol is shaken up a bit by this revelation of his father's past deeds. Elsewhere, Alexia arrives in the Royal City but quickly hides behind a corner as Galan and Mason continue to battle. Galan fires a blast, but Mason easily deflects it.)
Mason: Is this the best you can do? If so I'm afraid this won't be lasting very long.
Galan: You know for a kingdom of this size, I'm surprised by the lack of an army. I was told that not only was this the most powerful kingdom, but you had an impenetrable barrier as well. So much for that, I suppose.
Mason: Here in my kingdom we take the safety of our people seriously. As soon as we got word of your arrival, my queen sends out our forces to escort the civilians to safety. We see no reason to utilize our military might when the level of this threat is insurmountable. To put it short, they would've been lambs to the slaughter. Kate didn't want that.
Galan: I too lead a large number of men.
Mason: Do you now?
(As Mason says this, he glances to his left to see Alexia peeking over the corner. She signals to him that she's heading to the palace.)
Galan: Indeed so. In fact, they should be here any minute.
Mason: Is that so? Well, I better finish this before they arrive.
Galan: Does that mean you'll finally going to take this seriously?
Mason: Tell me something...
Galan: Galan.
Mason: Perhaps if you took this seriously, Galan, then perhaps I would feel obligated to do the same.
(As Mason says this, he then charges towards Galan as they continue their battle. Doing this then opens up a clear path for Alexia.)
Alexia: Great job of opening up the lane for me. I need to make this quick. Everything is depending on me.
(As Alexia makes her inside the palace, Galan proceeds to take notice something about Mason as he effortlessly dodges his attacks.)
Galan: You wanna know something, Mason? I think I finally figured out your little trick.
Mason: Is that right? Enlighten me then.
Galan: Just as my attack gets in a certain radius of you, suddenly there's a split second where I feel it. Where I can feel every fiber of my being slows.
Mason: Alright and what is your prediction?
Galan: Right as my attack is about to connect, you emanate your time manipulating power from the palm of your hands to save yourself.
Mason: Okay then. This is the part where you tell me how knowing this saves your life.
Galan: Well that's a shame. I have no need for it.
(As Galan says this, a group of ten men wearing a white piece of cloth over the face and distinct black marks in their pale skin.)
Mason: Is this the group of men you spoke of earlier?
Galan: Allow me to introduce you to my workers.
Mason: If I'm being honest, I'm very disappointed. I expected more, but all you've done is waste my time. I will quickly exterminate you so I may join the queen and end this failure of an encirclement.
Galan: Would you like to know why I keep them? This particular clan has a rare ability to numb the body. To a point where you will lose all of your five senses, I might add. Safe to say you've lost this encounter.
(As Galan says this, Alexia finds the spell paper and begins to make her way towards the tower. A few quick minutes passes as Alexia reaches the tower and arrives in front of Dante's cell. Once she enters the cell she places the spell paper onto the cube and writes a symbol on which causes the cube containing Dante to fade.)
Dante: What's this? You're a new face.
Alexia: I'm sorry, but we don't have time for introductions. You're needed out there.
Dante: What's your name?
Alexia: I'm Alexia and your Dante The Bloody Crow, now can we get a move on?
Dante: Does your queen know you're doing this or is it her idea to free me? Don't answer that.
(As Dante says this, he picks up the green apple, tosses it into the air and then pokes it with his finger which suddenly makes it burst into Crow feathers.)
Alexia: What was that? With the apple?
Dante: I've been telling the guards every day now that I like green apples, but they kept bringing me red as some joke.
Alexia: But you made it disappear?
Dante: That's because I'm saving it for later.
(As Dante says this, back outside Mason promptly goes for an attack on Galan's workers, but as he is just fingers tips away, they begin to hum in unison, immediately stopping everyone in the Kingdom in their tracks. As the humming gets louder, Dante quickly covers Alexia's ears.)
Dante: Do you hear that? Come on. And keep your ears covered until I say so.
(As Dante says this, Alexia nods. Elsewhere, Galan approaches Mason.)
