"Aurelia dearie, the mistress wishes for your presence in the library." A soft voice whispered to the concentrating girl.
"Can't it wait? I'm in the middle of my lessons, surely it can't be that important." Aurelia replied, not even looking up.
The woman shook her head, "The mistress demanded your presence immediately and we mustn't make her mad."
Aurelia sighed, "Very well. Ane, may you please reorganize my books while I visit mother then?" Ane nodded and began stacking the books. Aurelia swiftly exited the room and made her way down the halls.
She arrived at a big spruce door and gave a gentle knock.
"You may enter." A firm voice answered to the knock.
Aurelia opened the door and stepped into the library.
Aurelia gave a small curtsey, "Is there something wrong, mother?"
Mother shook her head, "No no, please sit down. I must talk to you about important matters."
She sat down across from the stern woman, placing her hands carefully in her lap.
"Next week is the entrance exams for Mortem and as you know, I expect you to be getting in without any difficulty." Aurelia's mother gave her a long and cold stare as Aurelia returned a weak nod.
"If your failure brother was able to get into the school you should have no issues, correct?"
"Correct, mother..."
Aurelia's mother got up from her seat and began pacing the library, "You are the family's only hope, Aurelia. You must save it from ruin."
Aurelia looked down, not sure wether or not to feel proud or annoyed. "Yes, mother."
Mother nodded, "Very well, you are dismissed." Aurelia quickly walked out of the library and ran back to her room.
