The next day I woke up to my mom in the kitchen making tea for the family. Everything seemed normal. That's a good sign, I thought. With the little relief I got, I went to the counter, took my phone and started chatting with my friend.

"Ugh! Alex you just woke up! Help me with my work instead of chatting all the time. How many times have I told you not to look at the phone all the time?" my mom started " You know there are kids out there that don't have phones. What do you think they do after they wake up? Huh? They help their mothers with the household work".... and then I zoned out.

My mom was ALWAYS nagging me about using the phone. π‘Šπ‘’π‘™π‘™ π‘šπ‘œπ‘š! 𝐼𝑓 π‘¦π‘œπ‘’ 𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑛'𝑑 π‘€π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ π‘šπ‘’ 𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 π‘šπ‘¦ π‘β„Žπ‘œπ‘›π‘’ π‘€β„Žπ‘Žπ‘‘ 𝐷𝑂 π‘¦π‘œπ‘’ π‘€π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ π‘šπ‘’ π‘‘π‘œ π‘‘π‘œ π‘€π‘–π‘‘β„Ž 𝑖𝑑? I always thought.

I continued talking to my friend when suddenly I heard a crash from upstairs. So much for a moment of relief. I ran up the stairs while my mom followed. I saw my little sister Jennie on the floor. She had fallen off the bed and was crying. I gave a sigh of relief to which my mother glared at me. She rushed towards Jennie on the floor ( Jennie on the floor. Sounds like a party name. ha!)

I realized I was smiling when Jennie told me to stop smiling and help her up. She's only 5. 10 years younger than me and she's bossing me around. The nerve! Anyway I helped her up and proceeded to go downstairs for my daily chai. I took my phone again before I unlocked it I saw a figure behind me on the black screen. I turned back so quick, I was surprised my neck didn't crack. There was no one behind me. My mom came into the room and saw me worried." What's wrong? Is the WiFi down?" She asked mockingly. I told her what I saw and what i 𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑛'𝑑 see, to which she just replied with " Ya the phone addiction is probably rewiring your brain" I considered that for a second and saw her smiling and realized she was just messing with me.

My dad came out of the office room and called all of us to the living room couch for a 'family meeting ' With a lot of groans me, my four siblings and my parents gathered at the living room. Me and my siblings sat on the couch and my parents stood in front of us.

"Since we've just moved here I thought maybe we could have a little party." Dad said."You know to welcome ourselves to the neighborhood and to know our new neighbors"

"Mm dad, I don't mean to rain on your parade but aren't the neighbors supposed to throw the party for us and not the other way around?" Asked Jessica, my older sister

" Well ya..... but turns out they are not keeping a party for us because we just moved two buildings away" Dad replied.

This got a little snickers from Matt, my older brother.

"Anyway we're having a party tonight. You can call your friends and we'll call the neighbors. Ok?"asked Dad.

We murmured agreement and went about our day.

We all invited our friends and got ready while our parents called the neighbors and set up the snacks and drinks.

By 7 the guests started coming. We all talked and had fun. We played music, danced, ate and did a lot of fun stuff.

At about 10 I realized that Andrea, one of my friends, was missing. I thought she must've gone to the bathroom so I didn't bother but even after half an hour I couldn't find her. So I decided to search for her. I asked everyone else where she was and they didn't know. I searched the bathrooms she wasn't there. Then I heard a scream from the basement . Me and my friends went down to the basement and found Andrea laying on the floor trembling.

We rushed to her and asked what happened.

"Kiara , go bring water. Quick "I called to my friend.

She ran upstairs and bought the water.

I sprinkled some water on her face and she woke up with a start.

"What happened?" I asked.

"There-there-was something-big-eyes-huge-red" she managed to stutter.

It was happening. The nightmare I had last night after I opened the box...it was coming true. If everything I saw became true then me and my family would be in huge trouble.
