Chapter 1 - The Book

"Dad? I have the book," I stood at his royal throne, breathless, holding an ancient book waiting for a reply. One of his demons stood there in a formal black suit, everyone wore the same boring outfit. I never wore it. My wardrobe consisted of plaid shirts, navy blue jeans, tank tops, sweatpants, shoes, and an assortment of jackets. Today it was a red plaid shirt worn with a black tank top and jeans with boots.

Everyone was so stuck up. I was educated by my father with help from the demons. Mostly about the dangers and the supernatural beings that walked on Earth. My physical education was just me learning how to defend myself. I could take down a grown adult at 10 years old. According to my father I was ready for combat at 15 and could become a warrior. I trained for battles everyday, ready for the dangers that might try to walk through my path. I considered myself a soldier.

Blood and tears always shed creatures. The angels and demons had a different story. They were not allowed to have feelings for each other or they would be punished by one of the archangels themselves. This one angel is famous for his "son" Jack and feelings for the Winchester brothers. Jack was the spawn of Lucifer and Akiaya Novak; he wasn't an archangel or human. He was something more than that. To the angels he was a miracle. To my father he was an abomination and threat to all kind.

A few weeks ago we captured him and held him in a cell that was unbreakable, ancient enochian writing was engraved into the unbreakable steel bars. He escaped the cell when it was my turn for watch. Father tried to stop him but Jack exorcised half of the demon population before he could get his hands on him. I was there and he told me I wasn't human and that I was just like him. I never knew what he was. He disappeared after the destruction he left to my father. My father told me to go to the library and to look for the 'Book of All Kind.'

I ran in the halls which seemed to be a labyrinth into the library and pulled off every book on each shelf only to find it a week later. Tucked away in a safe. I broke open the safe with my mind, it was like blinking or breathing. It just happened. I was amazed at what I could do. Here I am standing at the king's throne, holding an old, dusty, leather book, containing unbelievable knowledge, and keeping a big secret from my father. He hated secrets.

"They're heading to an abandoned warehouse in Louisiana near Lake George."

"Thanks Ryan. I'll send some demons over there," he said. He raised his hand, which was his usual signal for 'you can go now.' Ryan bowed to him and turned around.

"Excuse me," I said moving out of his way so he wouldn't bump into me. He winked at me giving me a slight smile before leaving. Heat flushed over my face as I felt my face turn uncomfortably red. Relief swept over my arms as I placed the heavy book in his lap. I rubbed my wrists trying to make the pain go away but it just increased.

"Do you know what happened in the past few weeks?" He opened the book and scanned through each page.

"Yes." I said hesitantly.

"Jack slipped away from your grasp. What happened sweetheart?" My feet ached from standing and waiting. I looked at my feet not wanting to answer his question. He slammed the book closed, making the sound echo around the room and causing me to flinch. I glanced at him. He looked furious.

"Nothing," I answered. He rose from his seat and wandered around the room, fiddling with his jars and items he kept in there.

"Nothing. Interesting. You know to become a soldier you have to be loyal to your king and to be honest right? " I shivered knowing what he would do to me if I didn't give him an answer. He would put me in a cell. The same type he put Jack in.

"Do you know what happens when someone lies to me?"

"Yes Sir," I replied.

"Do I need to go over the consequences?"

"No Sir," I knew what the consequences are. They were cruel. Starvation, torture, parallelization, and death. My dad never did those to me because I was always the one to squeal. I was afraid of what he would do. He's not the type of person that does the 'you're grounded' method. It was 'you mess up you're screwed' method. I'm not squealing this time.
