Chapter 70 - An unexpected reunion

"Are noble always this idiot? I can't believe you're an Shirogane." Iris said taunting her opponent, whom is struggling hard with his messed up strategy because of her unexpected strategy. "…" Hector didn't reply to her, instead, he's trying to understand Iris's strategy. Iris scoffs and smirks, amused at what she see in front of her eyes.

The chess conditions is, Iris with 8 pieces left, and Hector with 6 pieces left. Iris's king is solid protected by her remaining pieces, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook, and three Pawns and the King itself. While Hector's pieces, with just the King, Rook, Bishop, and three Pawns.

'Think Hector, think! You don't want to lose this! Not only Ash will teases me if she see me with Theresa all the time and you can't get more information about father!' He thought, trying to figure out an effective strategy to beat her. "I'll make sure the others see your moment with that brunette~" Iris teases, reading his mind, 'Oh sh*t! I forgot about that!' Hector mentally thought, forgetting the fact, Iris is able to read his mind.

Iris giggles when she sees Hector awestruck expressions, "C'mon, don't keep me waiting~" She said in a teasing voice, as a glass of wine appears in her hand, drinking on it while waiting for his movement.

When she's still drinking, she hears a silent movement on the chessboard. She pull the glass away from her lips, looking at the chessboard. "Seems like you've made up your mind." She said, seeing him placing his Bishop to C4 from F1.

"Did Hector always a heavy sleeper?" Ashley asks, without looking at Theresa who is standing beside her. "I think not…You were the heavy sleeper in the team." Theresa replies, knowing whether he's a heavy sleeper or not. "Hey!" Ashley protests when she call her heavy sleeper. "What? I'm not wrong!" Theresa said defending herself. "Oh yeah? How many hours did I daily sleep?" Ashley asks, acting high. "Around…10 hours or so. And sometimes we cannot even wake you up from your sleep! And that's devastating when we're in a critical situations!" Theresa said, trying to prove that she's a heavy sleeper. "I am not like that!" Ashley said, in denial. "whatever you think…" Theresa sighs, giving up at Ashley's persistence.

Hours passed, until it hit nighttime. As a single silhouette walks in the middle of the cold and dark night, their identity remains mysterious until their face meets the lights of a lamp in front of them, revealing their identity, the cold blooded woman herself, Akane Murasame. Since the atmosphere is very quiet, her footsteps is the only things she hears other than her own breath. Until she hears a lively sounds of peoples having conversations, she looks up from staring onto the dark road, and see peoples at the market, "Still on business at night, eh?" She said to herself while looking at the crowds there, before continuing her walk.

Her friends has already goes home before her, since she told them she wanted to take a night walk before going off to sleep. She always had a habit, and that's is walking alone, when she does that, her heart and mind always feels refreshed, walking without any cares but herself, who is not always guaranteed safety.

As a certain disturbing memories comes up in her mind, beginning to stresses her up, 'Shut up…' She thoughts, frowning and tries to shakes the memories off from her mind, but it just keeps getting stronger, and noticeable, the face of a certain someone. She grits her teeth and punch the wall beside her, as it created a craters from her fist.

'I don't need to remember that b*tch!'

"Unbelievable…" Iris said, surprised, as she stares at how Hector beat her. "That was tiring! I actually use every bits of my braincells!" Hector sighs in relief and put his head down on the table. "Congrats. I didn't think you're able to beat my easy mode." Iris chuckles, clapping her hands, "Easy what?!" Hector shouts, raising his head in shocks. "Hehehe. You would think that was actually my capabilities? Oh hell no. I'm much better than you." Iris laughs, cannot believe Hector's expectations. "Argh! Don't tell me, you're better than Zeolite?!" Hector shouts, leaning his body forward.

"Of course I'm better than mortal." Iris smugly said, "Damn. I don't like where this going…" Hector said, after knowing Iris is better than Zeolite. "Ready for the secret?" She asks, as the chessboard disappears into thin air along with the pieces. Hector looks at her for a while, before getting rid of his cheerful attitudes. "Yes. Tell me what you have." He said, getting serious.

"Since I've only use my easy mode, I shall tell you the lightest secret~" Iris giggles, looking at him teasingly. "Whatever you have then…" Hector sighs, giving up with Iris's play. "Did you know…Who killed your parents?" She asks, crossing her legs, above another. "Not really. Even the public news says unknown." Hector replies, answering her. "Really? The C.P.D knows something tho." Iris said, as it occurred Hector's curiosity.

"What? They know? If yes, they've already tells public years ago!" Hector said, unable to believes what Iris's saying as he slams his palms once again on the table. "Stop with the table slamming, it's making me sick." Iris growls, annoyed by Hector's behavior. Hector sighs, before apologizing.

"Did you think that, C.P.D's purpose is always good? That's when you're wrong kid." Iris said calmly, with her eyes closed. "And what kind of proof did you have?" Hector asks, still have faith in C.P.D. "They was involved with the war in your hometown, Land of Light, in short, Hikari."

"Oi, your turn now." Zeolite said, shaking Chiharu's shoulder. "Ugh…" As Chiharu slowly wakes up from her deep slumber. "Will be back soon." Zeolite said, putting his headphone down and simply raises his right hand, "Yeah…" Chiharu said, still half awake. "Focus on controlling the plane. Or else." Zeolite leaves a messages to sleepy Chiharu as she replies with a hum.

After he went out from the cockpit, he closes the door behind him. He looks down, as he see someone's legs and under in front of him. He raises his head to see the someone's in front of him, and to see Theresa there. "Oh, Theresa. Is there's something that I can do?" He asks, feeling slight uneasy when he see her.

Theresa seems to have trouble with her mind, as she replied with, "Ah, yes. I need to talk about something with you." Zeolite sees through her eyes, curiosity. "I'm kind of busy. Can we talk later?" He said, already knowing what she will talk about. "It's just for a while! It won't take long!" Theresa said, eagerly wanted to talk with him. "No. We'll talk later." Zeolite said, walking past her, as he thoughts he finally free from her, until she called him, by his pasts nickname. "Bloodlust Demon. Is that you…?"

Zeolite stopped in his track in surprised, as his eyes were opens wide, his lips slightly apart from each other, while his mind tries to process what he just hear. Seems like Theresa has just triggered something deep inside him, as she tries to brave herself up, to ask another questions.

Zeolite still in shock, as he unable to replies, but he knows, he will have to replies, no matter what situations he's in. He takes deep breath, calming himself down, before turning around slowly, and tries to brought his eyes to stares at her brown eyes.

"…Yes." He utters under his breath, getting afraid of her reactions, as he looks away, ready to receives whatever her replies, but instead of screaming, or a slap on his cheek, he receives a soft smile. "…Why are you smiling…?" He asks, disbelief of what's her reactions is.

"Remember a girl named Risa back in Sicarius Order?" She asks, in a soft and soothing voice. Zeolite thinks for a while, as he finally noticed something familiar in Theresa's features, brown hair and brown eyes, and the exact same bracelet, a beautiful silver colored bracelet, with rose patters in it, representing Theresa's nature. And some of Theresa's features, is the same as what he sees before, in the old days. "…Are you…Risa?..." He asks, quietly, still in shock. Theresa smiles, and replies, "You're right."

"What? Tell me more! Don't leave me hanging!" Hector shouts, wanted to know more behind the war that breaks in Land of Light. "No. That was enough. I'm not telling you more." Iris refuses to tell him more as she calmly walks back to her throne, having enough fun for now. "Not fair!" Hector shouts, groaning in frustrations. "What's not fair? I'm literally telling something that worth my easy mode." Iris said, looking back at him.

"You sly old hag…" Hector mutters quietly, but of course, Iris hear that. "Alright, enough of you sh*tty noble." She said, having enough of Hector's bullsh*t, and send him back to reality, waking him up instantly.

"Old hag!!!" He shouted, without realizing he's back to reality. "…I'm back to reality…" He said, lowering his voice down, as he was meet with the metallic ceilings, he looks around, looking for the others, and see Arkus asleep beside him, snoring lightly. "Jeez, Iris really take my time…" He mutters, realizing it's already afternoon, since he sleep at night, and would expect to woke up in the morning. 'Don't blame me. Your slow in our chess match.' Iris replies unexpectedly. "Hey!" Hector complaints at her comments.
