"Dr Ray, we should leave too," Anna said as she realised that Ray was losing his control after every passing second.
"Yes Anna, take him with you and don't worry about us we'll reach home on time. So tell mom about it if you reach earlier." Cally said to Anna.
Anna nodded and they went out.
"Sorry Sarah, it wasn't...wasn't meant to end like this. It was meant to make you happy...make us happy." Cally said covering her face with her palms.
Sarah patted her back lightly and said,
"It's fine Cally, I am satisfied just with the thing that you all gave a thought about me."
"Jeremy and I had planned so much for this evening," Cally said as she felt miserable for Jeremy and herself.
"Jeremy?" Sarah said in a low voice.
"Yeah, he planned all the decoration and even bought the cake for you, and you know the funniest thing, he knows your favourite flavour in cakes."
Sarah went into deep thoughts and thinking only brought some broken parts of her memory...
"I'll take this one," Sarah said as she pointed a cake kept in the sealed shelves of the bakery.
"Oh! You like red velvet?"
"Hmm..." She nodded her head quickly earning a chuckle from the man standing beside her.
"Actually, I don't like it. I looooove it." She continued keeping her gaze locked at the cake in that shelf.
"If you love it then...I love it too." The man said playfully.
"Aye! Stop flirting recklessly." Sarah exclaimed furrowing her brows.
And as she looked at the man standing beside her, that man he turned out to be Jeremy...
"What is this?" Sarah whispered as she grabbed her forehead with her another hand.
As she thought more deeply, more distorted memories flashed in front of her.
"Sarah, I...I love you."
"I knew it!!" Someone yelled from behind Jeremy.
And as soon as he turned around he punched Jeremy and the ring Jeremy was holding,
was made of very delicate rare glass fell on the floor and broke into pieces.
"Why can't you let us live alone.!"
"Niall! Stop it!" Sarah yelled at Niall who was holding Jeremy's collar.
"You jerk, you know that Sarah is mine!" He kept yelling while suddenly Jeremy smirked and said,
"You think you can keep her safe, you don't deserve her after what you did." His low voice made Niall even more furious.
"You JERK!!" He yelled as he punched Jeremy not once but twice.
"Stop it!" Sarah said in a low voice.
"Please." She said again.
But no one listened to her. Jeremy jerked Niall's hands and kicked in his stomach to make him step backwards.
Panting while his lips and nose bled a bit he said,
"You won't be able to be with her all your life if you keep ignoring your surroundings. And note this, only she will have to pay for what you did." Jeremy said pointing at Sarah who was standing on his right side.
"And if that ever happens you'll be the first one I'll beat the pulp out of whom. And I'll always be there to protect her and I promise that to myself." He continued.
"You're no one from whom I should take an advice!" Niall yelled and he was about to hit Jeremy again when Sarah yelled,
"STOP IT!"
But in reality, she wasn't just yelling in her memories she was yelling in her present too.
"Sarah?" Cally jerked her by her shoulders to get her conscious.
"You're okay?" She asked and Sarah opened her eyes.
"What happened?" Cally asked.
She looked at cally while her eyes were wet. After what she remembered she was only able to whisper,
"I can't bear this anymore."
She closed her eyes and fell on the floor...
****
As Sarah opened her eyes which felt like after years she was welcomed by bright sunlight entering her room through her window on the right side of her bed. She looked outside and sighed as she again remembered what she had seen.
"It means...I knew Jeremy too and...and he- he loved me?" Her voice broke in between and a tear fell from her eye down to the pillow.
"Sarah? You're okay?" Hannah came into her room.
She wasn't able to sleep properly after she welcomed her daughter home who had fainted. She sat beside her and caressed her hair gently.
"Are you feeling fine now?" She asked and Sarah nodded and slowly sat upright.
"What happened last night?" Hannah asked.
At this question, Sarah kept quiet for a while looking at her hands while Hannah looked at her daughter who seemed weary, worried and wakeful
"Is there anything you would like to say?" Hannah asks further.
Sarah gradually lifted her head and said,
"Mom, I...I can't do this anymore." Her eyes were once again flooded while her brows furrowed.
"I don't know who's right or wrong anymore. I don't know whom should I believe or not."
"Sometimes he seems right and sometimes he. Sometimes I feel someone who wants to hurt me is around me and sometimes I feel that everyone wants to protect me."
"Who-" She gulped in and took a short breath.
"Whom should I trust? Whom should I expect love from?"
She landed her head in Hannah's laps and started jerking as she cried silently. Seeing her daughter in pain Hannah's eyes weren't able to resist but cry. She wiped her tears out quickly and sniffed in between.
"I wish...I had died in that accident." Sarah whispered lightly without letting her mother know her thoughts.
"Your boss...Emma called me. She said it's a rest leave for you."
"Rest well, and don't think much about anything and.... let's go out I've prepared something for you."
Sarah nodded and sat upright, they were about to get up when Sarah's phone rung.
"Yeah Emma, I'm alright you don't nee-"
"What happened, anything wrong?" Sarah asked as she sensed restlessness and worries in Emma's voice.
"Niall's nowhere to be seen. He didn't come to work yet and he isn't picking up his phone. We have a meeting today I'm handling at the office so...can you please look up for him?"
"Yeah, I'll go right now!" Sarah said and declined the call as she hurried towards the bathroom...
****
Somewhere in the dark, a woman was talking on her phone,
"Have you called every one, it's today or never." She proclaimed to the man on the other side of the phone.
"Yeah, everything is prepared here. But..."
"But?" She asked him.
"Who are you?" He questioned.
"Does it matter? Just invade his house when I say, you'll get a big scoop of all time and your channel will be at the top."
She said and declined the call. Thinking about what will happen next, a smirk formed on her thin red lips...
