I glance at Faye, who stared back at me with a shaking head and a disapproving look. I felt dismayed that Prince Kai could not accompany us to see his grandmother knowing that he could be the only person that can somewhat talk and convince her.
Even such a turn of events happened, I still felt a tiny bit of confidence that I won't be alone facing her. But it seems that now, I'll be on my own for real. Another unexpected thing, but if I want to get the job done, I'll have to gather my courage and face her.
And so I did.
I give Faye a nod, reassuring her that I will be okay before turning away. I get past Dionne, who only watched me as I stepped beyond the open gates. The cave has gone silent, that the only sound I hear is the thumping of my heart that echoes throughout my ears.
"Wait, are all of you just going to watch her go," Rhys quickly opposes causing me to stop. He whispers the last part, but I could hear it, "that woman is undeniably demented!"
