Upon swinging the door open, I catch Mina on the way down the stairs, but she halted to look at me with panicking and fearful eyes. Her body shook, and she fumbles with her hands, which screams how uneasy she feels.
"What's wrong? Are Ducan and the rest back?" I asked while my father pops out of the door beside me. He also could not help himself but question what's bothering Mina.
She continues to shake while she drops her head down in shame. The next thing that she says stunned my father and me as she guiltily pleaded for an apology, "I told Dazia about the mission."
"Why would you do that!"
It didn't come to me that my voice could have shattered the glass windows with how fierce and angry I sounded. I stared down at Mina, cold and hard to add on the pressure she's undergoing.
"She-she gave me no choice. It's either that or Dazia will tell Queen Indra about me and my crimes," she croaked, tears streamed down her face, "b-but that's not all."
