'If only I can have her for myself.'

————————

"Why hello there, fine young man, "

I was woken by the familiar voice I heard, it was coming from outside my bedroom.

I looked at my left side, Aisha was still sleeping. I shook her back lightly for her to wake up.

"Mmm... Dash?" She whispered, almost a moan.

My jaw dropped. Was she dreaming about Axel?!!

I looked at her again... and just as I thought, she was still sleeping.

"Woah! Another handsome young man! Which one of you is my baby's boyfriend?"

I ran outside my room as fast as I could.

When I am now in the living room, I jumped on my mom, hugging her tight.

"Mom!" I said, my tears are almost flowing because of joy.

"Hi Elise," she said hugging me.

"Oh, so that's Fleur's mom. I thought she was someone else," I heard Axel whispered and sighed in relief.

"Uh, yeah?" Colt sarcastically answered.

"How'd you know?" Axel mocked Colt.

"That's basic common sense, " Colt answered.

I mentally rolled my eyes. They're always fighting for the most little things.

I remember last night before we went to sleep, Axel and Colt were fighting because they don't want to sleep in the same room. But after the police left, Colt stayed in the guestroom while Axel slept on the couch in the living room. It's like taking care of kids inside an eighteen-year-olds' bodies.

Speaking of the police. They found nothing. As if the stalker was never here. No evidence, fingerprints or even a single hint of who he is! There was none. That makes him scarier, the fact that he is anonymous.

There is nothing scarier than the unknown.

"How are you, Elise? Are these your friends? Or..." Her eyes grew wide. What are you thinking, mom?

"Uh yes, they are my friends," I answered.

"This is Axel and this is Colten-" She cut my words.

"Colten? Colten Reef?!" She asked. "Isn't he your?..." she added but she didn't continue it. Oh, she knows what's up.

I laughed awkwardly. "Ah, yeah. He's my childhood friend and this year's classmate," I smiled.

"Where's dad?" I asked to change the topic.

"Oh, he's gonna be here in a week. He got more business there."

"Howy mowy! Auntie!" Aisha said from the other side of the house in a sleepy yet enthusiastic voice. She obviously woke up just now.

"Why hello there, umm??"

"You forgot about me?" Aisha was on the verge of tears.

"Ha! Just kidding, how can I forget about my other child?" She said jokingly.

~Unknown's POV~

We're now sitting in front of the dining table. I was staring at my food on the plate, spacing out.

What does it feel like being called "my child"?

I smiled bitterly as I reminisce the past.

"Mom?"

"Dad?"

"It's scary here," The nine-year-old me sobbed.

"Mom, please help me. I don't like the dark," I cried in despair. Bugs crawling onto my chained foot.

"Dad, please let me out," Why is everyone so cruel?

"Just kill me, please." I cried out, pleading for my life to end at such a young age. No one cares... no one can hear me in this dark basement.

I have no one.

"Uh, are you okay?" Mrs. Avery asked. "Don't you like the food?" She added.

"O-oh. I love it. But uh- I don't feel good. Excuse me, please," I excused myself and stood up. I need to refresh my mind for a while. The memories kept flooding me.

~back to Fleur's POV~

"What happened to him?" I whispered, asking Aisha.

"Hmm, I don't know... perhaps he's allergic to garlic-rosemary steak?" She silently giggled. She's never serious about anything.

I shook my head and continued savoring my food. Maybe he doesn't feel so good.

-----

After everything was settled, it was now their time to leave.

"Goodbye, Mrs. Avery and to you, Fleur, " Axel said politely.

My mom patted his head. "Bye, son, " She said. Axel's smile grew wider and his gray eyes were shining.

"Bye, Auntie! Bye, Fleur!" It was Aisha.

Colten smiled and faced me. "May I talk to you for a minute?" He asked. His stares makes me nervous.

"Uh, sure, " I agreed then I led him to our garden full of European Iris.

"Fleur, " he whispered. I bit my lower lip, why am I so nervous?

He was looking really serious. Yesterday he was like mad about something and now he was being serious about something again.

"Fleur, I want to tell you this before but I don't have the courage to say it. I umm... I really lik-"

"What're you guys doing there?" We heard Axel. Was he here the whole time?

"Oh, nothing. I was just asking Fleur if she likes to sit with me beside the bus for the school trip this week, " He said then scolded Axel.

School trip? Oh. "I already have Aisha to sit beside me," Aisha will be hurt if I changed plans.

"No! It's fine, it's fine. Uh- bye!" He said and rushed to the pavement walks, hopping out of the grassy garden.

Axel squinted his eyes. "Okay. Let's go, it's getting dark, " And by that, Colt looked at me for the last time and bid his goodbye. I nodded and went inside.

I'm don't want to assume anything but I think he was about to confess to me.

I mentally screamed. Was he?!!!
