Chapter 94 - Stay with Me

"Are you sure you're gonna stay with me?" The Wolf asked and the Witch nodded, "Why wouldn't I?"

"Because, everyone in the village says you aren't , that you'll eventually move on from me. Go on to do great things while I...". "You what?"

His eyes lowered and he glanced away from her, "I fade away, become dust as you become the people's angel. I become remembered as a pity that was saved by you and someone as an example to your greatness. Only an example and then you let me go."

She turned her head to the side, "And you really believe that? That I would just dismiss you like that? Just because the village said so?"

"I do, we don't know each other like that and I feel we're going separate because of our paths. It is just destiny." "Our paths? Destiny? What no it doesn't have to be, just because I helped you doesn't mean it's pity."

"Then Stay with me."

Her eyes widened, "What?" He closed the distanced in between them and grabbed her hands, brushing his claws against her skin. "Promise, you will stay with me. That you won't leave."

She blinked back, "Why can't you just trust my word?" "Because it's not enough, I need you to promise." She gulped and lowered her head, "What if I don't want to promise?"

He narrowed his eyes, "Then that means it's true. That we really are different and that eventually we will separate."

"But-" "No, buts about it, it's fine, I care about you really but this just won't last." He started to dig his claws into her skin and she fliched at the pain, "That hurts." "Yeah, so does everything, but it will be okay. Because the pain won't last.."

The pain won't last, I thought to myself as I reached the bottom step, and the door to the garden was already open.

No one stood in my way, so I walked outside and what I saw was a path, a dimly lit path of lights that led to somewhere and it almost reminded me of a horror novel.

I take a deep breath and navigate my flashlight through, walking down the slightly rocky path and only glancing around for a second.

The same flowers from earlier but this time, they seem to match the atmosphere. Their rich color, seeming pale compared to the slight glow of the path.

They're stagnant which reminds me of the walls inside, but atleast they can see light, atleast they're alive even though they're here. Even if it's in this pitful place, they're probably barely getting taken care of.

I shake my head as the murmur of voices comes into play and it makes me even more curious as I draw closer. The faint sound starting to actually spew out words the further I went and then I saw something familiar.

The spot where I had tea at earlier, where I dashed away from an awkward meeting. It makes me frown but at the same time it's just another thing I got to deal with, especially if I want to find out what happened to Rene'.

"I know you're hiding something."

Glimpses of people in cloaks with lighters could be seen in the distance, not too far from where I was.

"What did you hide? What did you bury?"

"What the fuck are you talking about Regina?! Must you torture me some other time?!"

"No, because I am tired of your bullshit, of cleaning up all the bodies you bury, every fucking mess!"

"Stop using metaphors! You act like I don't know what you're talking about?!" I heard her scoff as the conversation continued, the yelling being something I'm used to and the curses just being another add on.

She laughed, "You know, I came here to burn whatever the hell you've been hiding so you might as well give it up. Unlike you, I actually care about the business, I did my part long ago and I'd be damn to let you fuck it up."

"Fuck it up? Regina you took it from me before I could even fuck anything up, you and my father double-crossed me." "Fuck you, I'm not explaining anything else to you, just give it up, what is it that you're hiding!?!"

It was silent for a second before the conversation started up again, "If you won't tell me, then I will just have to see for myself."

"Wait..."

I could hear footsteps shuffle, "What is it?" "It's with him, your damned cousin. If anything you should blame him." "What the hell are you talking about?" She asked, and that's when I went quiet.

"Lady.Victoria." I froze, as my name was called, terrified to turn around. "It's okay Victoria." I told myself, "It's okay." My heart felt like it would explode just a second ago but somehow I found the courage to turn around and what I saw was more surprising than I thought.

"No one," I murmur, flicking the flashlight around until I spot something on the ground.

An envelope. Green with a Red Seal and it soaked in the light when touched by the flashlight, making it sparkle. "Woah," I stated, about to pick it up but someone snatched it before I could.

"What are you doing here?" It was one of the people in the cloaks, looking over me as if I were an insect. I didn't know what to say so I stayed silent.

"I wonder what Lady. Acres would think of this."

My face scrunched up as they observed the letter, "Where did you even get this? How did you get out?" They asked and I remained quiet still, I mean what was I to say?

"Fine, you don't have to answer me, but we'll see what Lady.Acres has to say about this."

The witch, my mother, what she has to say about it?

I shake my head quickly trying to dash off but they grab my arm.

"I said, we will see what Lady.Acres has to say. You're going to have to face her."
