The little bun looked at the business card in a daze.
Tang Li Mei, who was standing beside him, observed her son and suddenly didn't know what to say.
Some time ago, as they were about to have breakfast, Han Zhixin got a call from the hospital and was asked to rush back to assist in a major surgery.
He had no other choice but to leave.
Tang Li Mei looked at him with pity.
'He probably doesn't even have time to eat his meals' she sighed.
She asked Aunt Lan to pack some food for him.
Han Zhixin didn't stand on ceremony when Tang Li Mei handed him the bento box and a meat bun wrapped in foil for him to eat on the way.
He grinned like a Cheshire cat.
The woman, who was still getting used to his stupid stunts, was stunned once again, and her eyes twitched in annoyance.
"Idiot!" She whispered, looking away.
'It was good that he was leaving, otherwise....' She couldn't even imagine the situation she would be in.
The man couldn't help but chuckle at her annoyed look.
--------------------------------------------------------
The little bun was still stunned by the news. He stared at the man in front of him, who was bandaging his wounds carefully.
Tang Xun suddenly felt very depressed; he worked so hard to keep this 'potential father' from leaving and thought he had some more time.
He couldn't help but shake his head in pity.
'All of my plans…' he screamed inside and scolded himself for being so overconfident. If he had worked a little bit harder than he previously did, he probably would have been able to stop him.'
'Right?' he questioned himself again.
-------------------------------------------
"You are leaving?" The little bun asked in a barely audible voice.
Han Zhixin glanced at him before carrying him in his arms.
"Yes, a patient is waiting for me at the hospital," he explained with a smile that barely reached his eyes.
The little bun pondered for a while.
"Then will you come back once your work is done, as Mama does?" he asked.
Han Zhixin could see his eyes gleaming with hope. He didn't know how to answer this question and looked to Tang Li Mei for help.
Tang Li Mei sighed at him and held her baby's hands, who was eagerly waiting for an answer.
"Xun'er, baby, look at me. Just like how you miss me when I'm away, Doctor Han also has a family that misses him. But it's not like you won't ever see him again, right?" She tried to explain.
Tang Xun looked at his mother with hesitation before looking at Han Zhixin.
"Then you'll come to meet me, right? Doc-Uncle um..." The little bun didn't know what to call him anymore and felt embarrassed.
Han Zhixin chuckled at his awkward look.
"Uncle Zhi?" he asked the little bun dotingly.
Tang Xun's eyes gleamed with a smile, and he called out affectionately, "Uncle Zhi!!"
The little bun held out his pinkie. "You promise?"
Han Zhixin beamed and promised to come back.
"I promise. I have your mother's number, and this is mine, so whenever you miss me, just call. Okay?" He fondly pinched his tinted cheeks before giving him his business card with his phone number printed on it.
He glanced at the woman beside him, taking in all of her features and gestures, before sighing.
He wasn't sure when he'd get to meet her again.
She wouldn't call him, at least that much he was sure of, so he'll have to wait for the little bun's call or leave it to fate.
"Xiao Mei, although the little one's fever has subsided, be careful and don't let him in the water for a longer period. And as long as you change his bandage and apply medicine, his wounds will heal in no time." He explained.
Hearing this, the little bun's eyes twitched. 'This is cheating! How could they do this to him? His bath time is very precious, alright!!!!!'
He didn't feel like stopping this man from leaving anymore!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------
As Han Zhixin sat inside his car, he stared at the two of them and couldn't help but feel disheartened.
He quickly started the car and took a deep breath before driving away.
The little bun stared at the back of the car in conflict and waited till it disappeared from his sight.
He held his mother's warm hand, and they returned to their home.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A black Mercedes drove through the gates of the European-style mansion.
Han Zhixin got out of the car in exhaustion. He looked at the porch lights and sighed.
He didn't expect to be pulled into multiple surgeries today. He was completely drained of energy.
As he entered the living room, he saw three people sitting and chatting on the couch.
"Welcome back, eldest young master!" The butler greeted him politely.
"Uncle Dai, how are you?" Han Zhixin asked.
"I'm very well, Eldest Young Master. Thanks to your treatment, my shoulder pain is almost gone!"
"That's good to hear." He nodded.
"Big brother! Welcome home!" Han Zihao lazily welcomed him.
He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans and had his blonde hair neatly combed, which was very unusual until and unless he was in front of his mother.
The woman who was peeling chestnuts for him suddenly stopped and ecstatically walked toward her eldest.
She looked stunning in the navy-blue cheongsam she was wearing, which accentuated her features. Although she was in her late forties, she didn't look a day older than mid-thirty.
Mother Han had warm features and was definitely a beauty. Even at this age, she looked charming.
And her husband, beyond any doubt, still seemed love-struck; by the way, his eyes followed her around.
Han Zihao huffed.
"Every single time!" He muttered and rolled his eyes, for which he received a glare from his father, who was reading a few files.
He couldn't help but shrink his neck. Although he was already twenty-five years old, his father still gave him chills.
His mother, on the other hand, was very biased toward her eldest son.
Until it was just him, he would get all her attention and love. But the moment his elder brother came home, he was as good as an invisible person.
Han Zhixin stopped his mother, who was about to hug him.
Mom, let me wash up first," He stated, and left.
Mother Han couldn't help but roll her eyes when she stared at the eldest son's back. She glanced at her husband and huffed in annoyance.
"It's all your fault; look at him; he is coming back home after a week and wouldn't even hug me," she berated him.
Father Han looked at her with a doting smile.
"What did I do now?" He asked with a twinkle in his eyes.
Mother Han gazed at him in annoyance.
"Don't you see how cold and stiff he behaves? Whose fault do you think it is?" she angrily asked.
"Look at Hao'er he wouldn't avoid my hug no matter how exhausted or unkempt he looks," She huffed.
'Her precious baby was never like this when he was a child. He would always follow her, no matter the place. But look at him now; he is exactly the same as his father.'
Father Han shook his head in forbearance; he was already used to his wife's childish tantrum. With a mother who was way more childish than her children, it's a wonder his children were good people.
'If they were to learn from her, he couldn't imagine what the situation would be today' He sighed.
Han Zihao, who was gloating at his father's misfortune, was stunned.
"Mom, are you complimenting me or scolding me?" he cried out.
Mother Han glanced at Han Zihao and shook her head in regret.
'Where did I go wrong with this one?' She questioned herself.
Mother Han didn't know what to say anymore.
Her eldest was a neat freak, and the youngest was too carefree and dumb.
She sighed at her misfortune.
Han Zihao looked at his father, who was trying to stifle a laugh and felt more depressed.
He had no place in this house once his big brother was back.
The blonde-haired man felt pitiful about himself.
Usually, it's the youngest who gets all the love and attention, but in this family, it was quite the opposite.
He felt cheated—he really did.
"Mom, you don't love me at all!" he complained.
"Oh, stop it! Why are you comparing it with your brother? You are always home; I have to literally throw you out to get rid of you. Your brother, on the other hand, just came back from the States and wouldn't even visit me!! His mother!!!!!" She complained.
Mother Han looked at her youngest, who always seemed loving, but today she suddenly found him annoying.
"Why are you the one throwing a tantrum?" Mother Han rolled her eyes at Han Zihao's childish tantrum.
'God, what sin did I commit to birth children like these???'
