Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Leader of the Violet Cobra gang - Feng Jian

Tang Li Mei called the guard standing outside their room, passed a paper, and whispered a few words in his ears. The guard took the paper from her to carry out her instructions.

"The next item to be auctioned is an old painting from the world-renowned artist Huang Zhou's collection, and this painting is the last of his creations before he passed away." The auctioneer explained.

The entire venue was in uproar since people wanted to catch a glimpse of this famous painting.

"The bid starts at $2 million."

"Five million" A middle-aged man raised his number to bid.

"Eight million," another said. As the bid amount went up, the number of people bidding for the painting decreased.

"Twenty million" A young man raised his bid while others struggled to decide.

Tang Li Mei looked at the crowd sharply and finally raised her bid.

"Thirty million!!"

The crowd quietened down as they turned their heads towards the second floor to get a glimpse of the person who raised the amount by ten million, like it was a piece of cake.

Who was this person? To waste so much money on a mere painting?

Everyone had different thoughts.

The young man looked towards the second floor as well. His hands clenched, and his eyes narrowed. His mother wanted this painting, but $25 million was the maximum he could fork out for now.

'Since it's a woman, it would be easy to just monopolize her to sell it to me,' he sneered.

Tang Li Mei and Hong Xi left the VIP room with a black cloak covering their bodies from head to toe and a black cloth covering their faces inside the hood.

They proceeded to walk towards the Rose Garden.

Her eyes looked empty, and her entire aura turned colder as they neared the garden.

Hong Xi gulped while walking by Tang Li Mei's side.

She tried to keep her mouth shut and not cause her boss to lash out by uttering any nonsensical stuff.

The young man followed them as well.

Tang Li Mei knew they were being followed, but she wanted to avoid any trouble inside the hotel premises. And if the other party is harmless, she would never initiate an attack.

"Miss, please wait!!" the young man called out.

Tang Li Mei and Hong Xi turned around to look at a man in a grey suit running towards them.

"Hello, Miss! My name is Luo Chen. The painting that you bid for today, can you sell it to me?? It's very important to me." He asked politely while trying to look into the cloak that was covering their faces.

Hong Xi's eyes narrowed.

She wanted to give this lunatic a piece of her mind, but Tang Li Mei held her hand and stopped her.

"You lost your chance during the bid, and I'm not selling it!!" Tang Li Mei directly declined his request and turned around to walk away.

Luo Chen clenched his hands and glared in their direction.

"I'll pay you two million more than what you have paid for the painting," he arrogantly shouted, but the two women pretended not to hear him and walked away.

"Why are you being so stubborn? I already told you that I would pay you more; what else do you want?" He sneered and caught her hand.

Tang Li Mei gloomily stared at her hand, which was being forcefully held by the young man.

Her eyes narrowed, and she quickly jerked her hand out of his hold.

Hong Xi swiftly moved aside to avoid being accidentally hurt by the demoness.

'WHACK!!'

Tang Li Mei roughly tugged the tie on the young man, and his body jerked due to the sheer force.

"Get lost!!" She icily commanded; her cold grey eyes gave the young man a chill down the spine.

She shoved him against the wall and walked out.

Luo Chen's entire body collapsed from the push, and he was in terrible shock.

He looked toward the direction Tang Li Mei had left and closed his eyes.

He tried to calm his breathing. But the aftershock remained when he felt his body shake uncontrollably.

Once they reached the rose garden, Tang Li Mei saw a middle-aged, bald man in his late forties holding a rose.

Tang Li Mei narrowed her cold, empty eyes.

This was the guy who murdered her loved ones.

Her hands clenched into fists.

"Feng Jian, leader of the Violet Cobra Gang, has been the most wanted person in the country for the past four years, yet you still have the guts to stroll around when the entire police department has been searching for you." She sneered.

Feng Jian turned around and looked at her as his gaze dimmed.

"It's not like they can catch me." He replied arrogantly in a gruff voice.

"Now, miss, let's not waste each other's time. So tell me, whom do you want my men to kill?" He asked as if talking about the weather and not a person's life.

Tang Li Mei sneered,

"Now, how would that be any fun?? Instead, how about a small demonstration???" She coldly glanced at him.

Feng Jian's eyes widened as he tried to escape. But....

"Whoosh"

A small dagger came out of nowhere and pierced the skin on his thighs.

"AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" His legs gave up.

He fell on the grass.

His forehead was covered in sweat while he desperately tried to get the dagger out of his body, but to no avail.

The dagger pushed in deeper and deeper as he tried to pull it out.

A swift kick landed on his abdomen, and his body rolled.

He struggled to get up.

But the pain in his leg was too much, and he was already losing too much blood.

"Please spare me!!! No matter how much you have been paid to kill me, I'll pay ten times more!! Whatever you want, I'll give it to you." He begged and groveled.

Tang Li Mei looked at him as a mocking smile appeared on her lips.

"You cannot give me what I want; your money cannot bring them back." She replied calmly.

A flicker of sadness appeared in her eyes before it quickly disappeared.

"BOSS!!!"

Before she could torture him, Feng Jian's lackeys arrived. Ten men with strong builds ran in their direction.

Tang Li Mei stared at them coldly.

"HAHAHA!" The man laughed maniacally, looking at Tang Li Mei.

"Now it's your turn to run!!" he shouted.

"You fools, what are you waiting for?? Kill these bitches for me," he growled.

But Tang Li Mei didn't give them that chance.

"Xi, take him to the base." She commanded.

Hong Xi, who had been merely standing by the side and watching the show, perked up.

"Finally!!" She marvelled.

"Yes, boss!!" Hong Xi hit Feng Jian at his acupuncture point, causing him to lose consciousness.

She swiftly picked him up and disappeared into the night.
