Knock knock.
I pulled my duvet over my head, hoping desperately that whoever was at the door would get the signal and leave.
Knock knock.
Groaning, I pulled the pillows over my head, lying face down and then thrashing on the bed. The person knocked again and I knew that if I didn't want trouble I had better open the door to check it out. Standing from the bed, I got down and almost fell face flat on the floor. Somehow the duvets had tangled my whole body, making it hard to move. I sat with my legs stretched out and tried to untangle myself. The person knocked again.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." I hollered, thankfully unknotting myself and leaving the cover on the floor.
I unlocked the door, face palming when I saw who had been knocking, Sister Tutu.
"Good morning. What do you want?" My eye were anywhere but on her face.
"They are gone," She was referring to our parents, retying her satin scarf,"You can come and watch Tv."
I glanced at her suspiciously, why was she suddenly been nice,"Why are you being nice all of a sudden? It's not you." I quipped, my body was blocking the entrance. I didn't want her in my room.
Her facial expression was of one that swallowed a lemon drop,"I know and I'm sorry."
What was she apologizing for? Frustrating me? Pushing me to the wall? Pushing me off the edge? I wanted to know exactly.
"Why are you apologizing? What are you even apologizing for?" My body stood rigid, blocking any way in.
"I know I was part of those that pushed you off your limits and I'm sorry about it. I really am." She finally voiced out, rubbing her knuckles nervously.
"Thank God you know." I said and then made to go back inside,"Plus it's not actually your fault. Most of it was mine. And stop talking about it, the deed has been done. No use crying over split milk." I added as an after thought.
"I take it that you've forgiven me." She started, sashaying into my room. Simple body language! They don't understand!
She took my reply... non-reply actually, as a yes and then continued,"Why not watch Tv with me. You know quality sister time." She was wearing one of the silliest smiles I've ever seen on her.
"I'm actually not..."
"I'll pay you." She offered the moment she felt my answer was going to be a no.
A pay?
"How much?" I smiled too, trickling Goldie who had walked up to my legs and was licking it.
"1k."
"5k."
"Ahn ahn na. Oya #1500."
"4k."
"I'll give you 2k."
" Make it #2500."
"Deal!" Her arms were held out in an handshake, I slapped it away. Cradling Goldie to my chest, I followed Sister Tutu out of the room.

"I kid you not!"
"You really mean it?"
"I swear to God Almighty." I assured again, as we both burst out into laughter. I had just told her the story of how dear Tolulope landed in the ICU. She was gob smacked.
"I never knew my baby sister was a thug in the making." She chortled, trying to muffle her laughter. This resulted in her making a snort like sound, at this we both started giggling uncontrollably again.
When the laughter had died down a bit," I am not your baby sister. You better take note." I warned playfully, waging my fingers in her face.
"You mean you'll go hulk on me. Oooh, I'm scared." She shivered, albeit fake the sarcasm dripping from her tone. I slapped her lap, while she was busy making pig like noises.
"So, no boyfwen? As you fine reach laidis. Oga oh! All these boys must be blind." I decided to tease her since that was what she had been doing to me too.
"Yes oh! They are blind. See me na! Emi hotkek!" She rolled her shoulders in a funny way, pouting her lips.
"Who is whining you? Where is the hotkek?" I grinned, scooting away from her. Incase she decided to pounce on me.
"Abi ya blind! You dinnur see me ni."She was on her feet now, doing a sort of mini strut in the living room.
"But seriously na!" I whined out, I hoped she would share a bit, so I would see something to tease her about.
Sister Tutu stayed deep in thought for a moment and then came to sit back down. Plopping right on the couch,"So I was involved with this guy. It was like a kind of fling, but it's over." She announced, her arms up in surrender.
"Deee-tails now!"
"No details jare. But the boy is fine mehn. Even see his pictures." She took her phone from the other couch where it was resting and scrolled through exclaiming loudly.
"Teni we are in trouble. Daddy messaged me like 20 minutes ago that he was coming home to talk to you about your school issue. He should be home any second from now." Her words made me jump up at a speed that would put flash to shame. Hurriedly, I packed my belongings, slippers and dog and ran to my room.
Thank God for God!
It was like daddy was waiting for us to see his message before he entered, his horn blared at the gate and I was sure Musa would let him in soon. Arranging my room as fast as I could, I took the duvets and laid back on the bed.
Knock knock.
"I'm coming sir." I yelled from my bed, rushing to open the door, not forgetting to yawn the moment I met his face.
Daddy looked like he didn't believe me still asleep by that time of the day but didn't say anything about it. I stood aside and let him walk in. He ambled slowly into my room, taking his time to study it. I doubted he had ever entered the room before.
"Your mum was able to convince me -better tell her thank you. So you won't be attending a military school." Yes!
"But..." That part would never turn out well, I knew.
"You'll have to change schools, no i still stand on that. On Monday, you'll be resuming at Grace Reform Academy, and I won't also be selling your dogs. You should honestly thank your mother for a lot of things." He paused and I thought he was done with his mantra.
"Thank you Sir." I said quietly, my head bowed.
"No don't thank me. I'll still be watching you, this is your Sss 2 last term right? I don't want any single negative call about you from that school. Be the good girl you were born to be."
"Okay sir."
"That is all. And clean this room, it looks like a slaughter house in here."
"Okay sir. Thank you daddy."
He didn't give a reply, instead he gave my room one last fleeting look and left.
But what about my phone?
I wanted to shout after him.
