Chapter 40 - There Is Trouble

It's a fact that those who die on the island are taken somewhere else, replacing the persona similar to theirs, either it is wish or prophecy, those there will always go somewhere else in the end, an ideal world without chaos or destiny, a world where your own choices aren't predetermined by an unknown being that reigns over others. A sure-fire way to make everyone happy. Only the boy understood this concept. The bulbous cadaver of the monsters made him vomit up acid, for there was nothing inside his stomach. he clamored and clamored against the wooden planks that were the ground under him until finally, it all ended there and then.

Before this encounter, the boy had finally gained the courage to open the door to the shared rooms he had with the other orphans in the orphanage. His steps creaked slowly against the molded wood sticking against his feet, keeping himself low to the ground. His journey outside the room did not take him far before encountering that horrible vomit-inducing corpse, pulsing with life that shouldn't have been there. Fungi spread across the corpse's face, veins pulsing with blood, one massive bubble, white with puss sitting in the middle. The wretched smell crippled the boy and now, he's in a dream, a dream that never happened, since where he went was no dream, it was a reality he found himself in, for those who die on the island will go to paradise. The real reason those wanted to find a map, it's all because they knew that they'd be reborn like this boy had done as well. Of course, that was only the first group of people while others had heard of the false rumor that is of immortality, that is a different story altogether though.

When the boy found himself awaking in an unknown home, memories that were not his flowed into his brain, but they were him, the boy as exactly like him but... no, this was his most ideal reality. He had a family, things are right in the world.

January 1st, 1912.

Palach had arrived in Montana, Seth and his group found themselves facing against a group of hired Japanese convicts, the likes of which are now at a disadvantage due to Seth's cunning, holding their leader by the neck, dagger pressing against the skin.

"So, what'll it be?" Seth asks, looking closely at the leader's men, he notices their fingers loosen on the triggers. Seth quickly sends out a signal to Nixon and he quickly fires upon his men and they fall, making sure to fire at their arms and legs. Nixon exhales before spinning the chamber of his revolver, smoke emitting from the barrel of the gun, firing his last shot into the air. Tsuki noticed what had happened. A split-second decision made by both of them, almost inhumanly fast. Only then can someone know how terrifying these two really are. "Grab their guns!" Seth yells as if commanding the others. Citlali quickly acts, grabbing their guns and throwing it to Tsuki who catches them with ease, Hinata hesitating all the while.

The Japanese man stuck in Seth's grasps clicks his tongue, knowing he can't do anything about what was happening to them now.

Seth chuckles, "Alright, why don't you tell us what's happening now, first, let's introduce ourselves. I'm Seth, the tall one with blond hair and weird earrings is my man Nixon, the Japanese dude is Tsukiyama, the Japanese girl is Hinata, and the Half-Indian chick is Citlali, what's your name?"

"Masahiko Kobayashi."

"Nice to meet you Masahiko, so can you explain to me what's going on because blonde boy there," Seth points at the injured Vincent, "He sure as hell can't tell us, so why don't you?"

Masahiko sighs, "We were hired by the Mafia to kill anyone related to the bag since they thought that Vincent here and his comrades would keep the gold all to themselves, and it looks like they were right. Inferencing the situation a bit, I can tell Barney and Vincent here thought you all were after them, and now we're here. If they knew people were after them, they were definitely planning to betray someone." Vincent could feel Masahiko's gaze through the Komuso.

Seth nods, "Right, well, we'll be tying you up now."

Seth presses Masahiko's head to the ground, knife still at the man's throat. Seth takes out a bundle of rope in a bag at the back of his waist, popping the bag open and taking out the rope. Seth quickly grabs both of Masahiko's arms, tying them behind his back before Masahiko could even struggle. Seth made it so the rope wrapped around both of Masahiko's wrist and neck, raising his arms slightly in the air as Seth tightens it more and more. Seth then ties both of Masahiko's ankles, wrapping it with the already tied wrist and neckties, lifting his feet in the air as well.

"Right, can one of you patch up Vincent over there?" Seth points to the half-dead Vincent, attempting to crawl away from their group. Citlali quickly moves over to Vincent, grabbing him by the nape of his collar and throwing him back in the middle of their group. He flops violently onto the ground as Citlali begins to tie him up the same way Seth did to Masahiko.

Seth holds up Masahiko, throwing him down to the rest of the group, hopping down the ledge, and moving to Barney. Seth feels Barney's neck for a pulse, but nothing is there.

Seth looks to Vincent, "Looks like your friend couldn't hold out like you."

Vincent attempts to say something but nothing comes out through his winces of pain, dried blood around his mouth cracking some as he grits his teeth.

Seth walks back over to Masahiko, kneeling next to him, "How much is that gold in that bag worth." Seth points.

"Well..." Masahiko hesitates, "We were told but, not told enough, all they said was that there was enough gold in there to buy out a country."

Seth looks to the bag with an impressed expression. "That's pretty neat."
