"You're the only certainty in my life. Please don't go. Please don't leave me... I'll break."
...
"Oh, hey, mom, you're back," I say as soon as I enter inside the house. As soon as she sees me, she heads straight towards me, making me falter in my steps. "Uh, I didn't do anything, and I have a jo-"
She grabs my arm and with a serious expression on her face that I never hope to see, she says, "Where were you the whole night?!"
Shocked at the rage in her voice, I stay frozen, willing my mouth to say something but deciding against it, I let Ayan speak for me.
"We were at Sasha's-" Ayan shuts up when mom raises a finger at him.
"You're not my daughter. I did not ask you the question," her shoulders shake with anger as she grits her teeth out at Ayan.
I look at Ayan wide-eyed, and he returns the look.
I gulp; if she's talking to her favourite child like this, then I'm a gone deal.
