Chapter 46 - 46- Going On Vacation

"Wait, you want me to what?!" Ryan couldn't believe his ears.

"I want you to go to the beach with me! For my birthday!" Scott repeated excitedly.

--------------------

That conversation led to the current situation. It was a sunny Friday afternoon in October and they were driving through the middle of nowhere on their way to the beach. The conditions were that Ryan had to accept money for the work he was going to miss, and that he wasn't allowed to pick up any spare shifts. It took some convincing. A lot of convincing. And puppy dog eyes. And maybe a little bit of a guilt trip. Ryan caved eventually.

Ryan was actually very excited about the trip, enough so that he had some trouble getting to sleep the night before for the first time in forever. He'd never been to the beach before. His grandparents hadn't owned a car to make the drive, and it was too far away to be a trip by bus. Besides, even if they'd gone they wouldn't have been able to afford a hotel. Scott was keeping the itinerary a surprise, but he did let slip that their room was going to have an ocean view.

The scenery was rather pretty, the trees along the highway were ablaze in the reds and oranges of fall. Ryan was having a hard time focusing on that though. He fidgeted in his seat, hand in his lap. They'd passed a gas station a while ago, and he hadn't seen a sign for another one. He was regretting the bottled tea he drank. His discomfort hadn't gone unnoticed.

"What's wrong, Hot Stuff?" Scott asked.

"Is there a gas station or rest stop or something coming up soon? I reeeealy gotta pee."

That sentence was just enough to tickle Scott's horny switch. "Let's see..." he drawled, "We passed that one about half an hour ago... But there's nothing on this road for about another hour... I could turn back, but it would add an extra hour to the drive. Or, do you think you can hold it until we get in to town?"

"I'm not sure I can hold it long enough to make it back to the first one." Ryan admitted, letting his leg bounce shamelessly. "It hit me all of a sudden. I really, really, really have to go."

"Well," Scott teased, "I've got my empty cup from when we stopped for snacks?"

"I don't want to ride around with a container of piss! Just pull over, I'll go pee in the grass!" Ryan pleaded.

"Hm... I wonder if we should get some diapers for the return tri-"

"Geese." Ryan almost whispered. "I love you, but please don't say you want to see me use a diaper."

Scott diverted his attention from the road long enough to get a good look at his fiance. He thought they were exchanging banter, that Ryan was playing up on his kink considering the purpose of this trip, and the fact that they were discussing birthday related bedroom activity off and on since they first pulled out of the city. He was wrong. Ryan seemed small and vulnerable in the seat next to him. Just then, he remembered the notation in Ryan's medical records, involving diaper rash and wrist abrasions.

"I'm sorry," Scott apologized, immediately pulling the car over.

Ryan hopped out and dashed his way to the tree line. At least they were the only car on the road at the moment. Scott watched out for him from the driver's seat, his naughty thoughts quickly disappearing. How could he have forgotten something like that? He'd dedicated a small portion of his luggage to some different things he was hoping to experiment with this weekend, and he made a mental note to hide away the small pack of adult diapers he'd bought. His office supply closet could use the donation.

Ryan took a while in coming back. It could be that his bladder was really that full, or it could be that he was trying to calm himself down, it was hard to tell. Scott almost went to go check on him. When Ryan finally did get back to the car, he was quiet and meek.

"Feeling better now?" Scott asked kindly, driving off.

Ryan nodded "yeah..."

Scott decided to go for a direct question. "Did your ex force you to wear diapers?"

"...yeah."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not really..." He paused, embarrassed. "This weekend is supposed to be about having fun to celebrate your birthday... I'm sorry I brought down the mood..."

Scott reached for Ryan's hand, rubbing the back of it with his thumb. "It was my fault for misreading the situation, not yours. I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable." He glanced over and locked eyes briefly. "Remember what I told you? If you tell me to stop doing something, I'll stop. No arguments, no complaints. There's no reason our safe word can't work outside of the bedroom too."

Ryan waited a little before responding, watching the trees and power lines fly by.

"...Thanks."

--------------------

By the time the ocean was in view, Ryan was in much better spirits. They'd crested a hill, and the entirety of the seaside town came into view, causing him to gasp loudly in delight.

"Ohmygosh! The ocean is HUGE!"

Scott grinned as he glanced over at his fiance. This was going to be a fun trip.

As they got closer and closer to their destination, Ryan started pestering Scott for plans. Scott kept his lips sealed. The only thing he promised for sure was that yes, they were going to walk on the beach. Maybe even a little more if the spot he was thinking of was secluded enough.

The first stop before even getting to the hotel, let alone the beach, was a store that had a giant fiberglass shark head above the entrance, the paint chipped and weathered. Ryan snapped a picture. Mick was NOT going to believe this!

"Why stop here?" Ryan asked.

"Because you need a swimsuit."

"Isn't it a little cold for swimming? Also, I can't swim."

"Trust me, you need a swimsuit."

Scott refused to tell him why, so Ryan had little choice but to go along with it. Inside the store was like nothing he'd ever seen. Pool floats hung from the ceiling, and towels decorated the walls like artwork. There was a decent portion of the place dedicated to kitschy knickknacks with the town name on them, but a sizeable portion was dedicated to just bathing suits, despite being the off season.

Ryan was encouraged to look around to see if anything caught his eye. Ryan had no clue what to look for in a swimsuit. He definitely didn't want a speedo. Or, he didn't want anyone but Scott to see him in a speedo. All the others looked more or less the same, either solid, or with some kind of palm tree or flower print. Should he just pick one in a color he liked? It didn't seem to make much difference...

From the other end of the section, Scott called out to him, holding up a pair of trunks Ryan knew he'd be proud to wear the moment he saw them. They were black, with red peppers printed all over, and the word "HOT" printed down the leg looking like it was on fire. It was perfect.

They were able to find one in his size, and Scott dubbed it the official "Hot Stuff on Vacation" uniform. He still refused to tell Ryan why he needed a swimsuit in the first place. After checking out with the only cashier, who seemed more interested in his magazine than in working, they were on their way yet again.

The last stretch of their drive to the hotel ran parallel to the beach, and Ryan was glued to the window like a little kid, catching glimpses of the water between the numerous resorts. When they finally arrived at the one Scott booked, it was hard to miss the giant glass building attached to it. You couldn't see inside for all the condensation, but Ryan was itching with curiosity.

A uniformed bellhop came out to unload the car, and Scott checked it in with the valet. If that wasn't enough, the main lobby had a huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and several large flower arrangements. Ryan spaced out, taking it all in as Scott finished up the registration at the front desk. The only snippet of the conversation he managed to catch was the concierge saying, "And, you'll need these bracelets to access the pool area."

There was a pool? Wasn't it too cold for swimming?

When he was done with check-in, Scott literally took his fingers and closed his fiance's jaw, as it had been left hanging open as he oogled his surroundings.

"You haven't seen anything yet, Hot Stuff." Scott handed him his copy of the room key and took his hand to lead him to the elevators.

"What about our bags?"

"Don't worry, they'll bring them up!"
