"Ow, fuck you!"
"Never!"
"Disgusting!"
"Old man!"
Shouts were heard from the living room, with loud cheering in the background.
"Go, Rich!" Liam was shouting.
"What about me?" Alina asked indignantly.
"Werewolves have a natural advantage." Linda was heard stating calmly, most likely still on the sofa with her leather.
"What the hell is happening?" Cayne demanded, to no one in particular, his attention still focused on the game.
Unbeknownst to the three people hiding out in the room, Alina and Richard had decided to have a friendly spar with the excuse of teaching Cole and Liam hand to hand. A very, very, intense friendly spar.
"Who the hell knows? Oi, Hikari, heal yourself, damn it!" Korū said, distracted by the sound of gunshots.
"Cayne, BEHIND YOU," Hikari warned.
"I CAN HEAR!" Cayne exclaimed, trying to ignore all the sounds coming from the living room, focusing instead on shooting people.
"Send help, I'm stuck," Hikari said. "There are three people cornering me here."
"Who told you to go there?" Cayne asked, moving towards Hikari cautiously, as she had forged ahead of them. The enemy was pretty skilled, though that would be understandable, since they were most likely humans who were not occupied by the messiness of the supernatural world, and would most likely have more time to game. At least, that was Cayne's opinion.
Liam poked his head into the room, making all three of its occupants jump at the sound of the door opening. "Hey, Cayne, when you're done, come out to learn some hand to hand."
"Sure." Cayne answered distractedly. "Shit! Don't die on me, Hikari."
"AH OH MY GOD CAYNE, TURN THE FUCK AROUND!" Korū was gunning down a guy but there was another one. Hikari's health was down to red, but she was okay. For now.
"OKAY, OKAY!" Cayne shouted. "Die faster!" he tried to persuade the enemy, but alas, they did not heed his words.
"This is so intense."
"I know right," Richard answered Alina, the two of them peering round the door frame to stare.
"Now I really want to go shooting." Alina said, "I'm probably rusty."
"Too bad, we'll do it another-"
"WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP AND LET US CONCENTRATE!" Cayne yelled.
"Chill, dude. No need to shout." Alina said, the two of them withdrawing back into the living room to spar again.
"Hey, we'd better get outta here. The playzone's shrinking." Hikari notified her teammates.
"Wait, damn it," Korū snapped. "There's still two more people here."
"Do you hear anything?" Cayne whispered, his avatar unmoving. It was crouching behind a tree, constantly looking around. This was a fun way to let off steam without being in actual danger.
Korū drove a car to where Cayne and Hikari were hiding. "Get in."
"Where are they? Where is it coming from?" Cayne asked, trying to spot the attacker as they drove towards the center of the playzone, his health bar rapidly decreasing.
Hikari was killed by a headshot, and Korū was also being shot at.
"Argh, we were so close." Cayne groaned, as they all died. They were second place. He sighed and stood up, heading towards the chaos of the living room. "I'm going to see if Alina and Richard are still up for some hand to hand combat lessons."
"Good luck."
Korū flopped backwards onto the bed.
Cayne exited the room, greeted by the sight of Alina and Cole wrestling on the floor, with Liam and Richard cheering them on.
"Go, Ali! Knock him on his ass!" Richard shouted.
"HE'S ALREADY ON HIS ASS!"
"Fight, Cole! Don't face the same embarrassment as Cayne did!" Liam encouraged.
"I'm trying." Cole growled out, not mentioned that he was the one who got a broken wrist the same day Cayne got a nosebleed from a wall.
"What the hell did you just say?" Alina kneed Cole in the stomach, leaving him groaning on the floor and stalking towards Liam. "Embarrassment?! How is getting his ass kicked by a seasoned warrior an EMBARRASSMENT?!" She demanded.
"Whoa, whoa, I didn't mean it like that…" Liam said, backing away. "Um, I mean, he's a future Alpha."
"I'm sorry! Don't kill me." He squeaked as Alina approached, his back hitting a wall. She stopped right in front of him.
"Who's the embarrassment now, huh? A giant like you cowering from a girl three fourths your size." She broke into a grin. "I'm just joking. I got through that phase a while ago." But has she?
Cayne, Korū and Hikari were watching from the doorway. "This is...chaos," Hikari stated.
"...yeah." Korū's gaze was fixed on Cole. "Wanna rematch?"
"Nope." Cole was still on the floor. "I've had enough for a lifetime."
Liam slid down the wall till he was sitting. "There's nothing embarrassing about cowering from a seasoned warrior!" He whined.
"Whatever you say." Alina waved her hand dismissively as she headed to the kitchen for water.
"Coward," Korū mocked.
"Yep." Cole said, unashamed. "I would appreciate it if you could teach me your methods, though. Preferably without me sustaining permanent injuries."
"Fuck off. No."
"Eh, it won't hurt to teach the defenseless idiot something. I mean, it could, keyword being could, reduce the chances of him dying," Hikari pointed out.
"Why wouldn't you want him to die?" Richard pointed out, Linda snickering from the side.
"Why would I want him to die?" she countered.
Alina came back from the kitchen. "Who to wha?"
"This guy asked me 'Why wouldn't you want him to die?' Him being Cole. Why the heck would I want anyone to die?" She considered for a moment. "Okay, fine, maybe some people, but he's not in the list."
"Good to know." Cole muttered. "Can you teach me instead?" He asked Hikari hopefully.
Korū let out a huff, but didn't stop Hikari when she went over to Cole. "C'mon, get up and I'll show you some stuff. Korū knows more since he's training to be a warrior, but I know enough."
Korū just leaned against the door frame, watching silently.
"Thanks." Cole said, looking a teeny tiny bit surprised. But only a little.
Everyone else watched on in amusement, even the cats and crow.
