"Hey teach, we missed you." The second guy said while the other two ignored her, heading towards where Korū, Hikari and Alina were sitting.
"You're in our seats." Cole said.
"These seats don't have your names on it." Korū didn't move, refusing to be 'pushed around by cocky bastards' as he would put it. "It's your own fault for being late."
Beside him, Hikari winced at the thought of the fight that was bound to happen, and the fact that she and their mother might have to patch up her brother afterwards definitely didn't help.
Alina raised an eyebrow at the three boys. "I think you'll have to give us a good reason to shift. Those empty tables in front are easier to slip into inconspicuously when you're late anyway."
"Yeah. We ain't moving, so screw off." Korū glared at them.
"I think making your life hell should be a good enough reason, don't you think?" Cole asked.
Alina gave a lopsided smile, "Try me. I dare you."
Korū's glare morphed into a twisted version of Hikari's grin. "You wanna fight me, bastard?" The mark on the left side of his neck seemed to pulse slightly.
"Can the both of you calm down-" the teacher attempted to cut in.
"You know, Korū, I really wanted to sit through this lesson." Alina said, smirking. But then she realised something. She'd gotten used to the scent of Hikari, Korū, and their wolves, but now, there were three other werewolf scents lingering in the air.
Hikari's wolf stirred, growling softly in her mind, realising the fact.
Korū's 'twin-radar' sensed it and he picked up the strange scents as well. "Even fucking better." His grin grew wider.
Alina smiled too. She hadn't had a fight in a while, and it was clear that one was coming their way. Her tiny wolf shook out her fur. They wouldn't know what hit them.
Hikari leaned forward in her seat. "Let's see who will make who's life hell." Her smile grew to match her brother's, and with them wearing identical expressions, they looked exactly the same, apart from the hairstyles and clothes. Neither could turn down a good fight. "One last chance to back out," she offered.
"Man, I'm glad they're on my side. Kinda." Alina thought, laughing internally.
"Hell no. See you after class. Hope you're good enough to give everyone a show." The Cole said.
The three guys turned around and sauntered to the seats in front, the last guy flipping them off as he went.
One period later, the bell finally rang.
Outside, Korū and friends were backed into a wall. Or at least, there was an attempt to back them into a wall. Korū smirked. "Give it your best, suckers."
Hikari merely sighed and popped her neck, standing slightly behind her brother. Those jerks were in deep shit. The twins were two of the best fighters their age in their pack, able to match against the strongest warriors.
Alina just leaned against the wall casually, an amused expression on her face. "So guys, one on one?"
"Of course it's gonna be one on one," Korū snorted. "If three of them gang up on one person," he sneered, "it wouldn't be very manly would it?"
Alina laughed. "Linda's gonna kill us." She said, twirling a piece of her short black hair between her fingers. "Dibs on the third dude."
Korū lunged first. He tackled Cole, landing a hit to the other guy's face. "You're gonna regret this, asshole."
Alina was still leaning on the wall, eyeing the tall brute in front of her. She raised an eyebrow as if challenging him.
He glared at her and sighed, as if he didn't want to be there. Then he tried to punch her.
Alina got out of her relaxed stance before anyone could blink and ducked easily, moving to the side.
"What's your name?" Hikari casually asked the guy she was trading blows with. "I'm Hikari."
"Liam. You talk too much."
"I've been told," she responded, ducking down to sweep his legs out from under him in a smooth kick, which made him yelp.
Meanwhile, Korū threw a quick left hook and gave Cole a nosebleed.
Alina smiled as she hooked her leg around the guy's leg from behind and straightened it, causing his to buckle. She whipped around and hit him in the temple, effectively knocking him out.
Her eyes widened as she fully turned around to see the guy kneeling while face planting the wall. She watched as a drop of blood trailed down from his face.
Oops, now both buddies had matching busted noses. Alina mumbled under her breath, "Shit, who the fuck stands so close to a wall. Sorry buddy."
Korū was locked in a brutal tussle with Cole, both of them snarling, clawing, and punching, kinda like two Alphas fighting over territory. He would have shifted and crushed Cole's neck in a second but it wouldn't have been wise, so he didn't. Instead, he opted to throw the guy into the wall. There was a crack, and Cole's hand hung at an awkward angle. Cole was gritting his teeth in an attempt to not cry out in pain, and Korū was watching him with sadistic amusement.
Hikari finally stopped talking to her opponent. She leaped up and pushed off the wall to the one opposite, then attacked Liam from behind. One hit to the base of Liam's neck and he was out cold.
Alina rolled her eyes, knowing that Korū was using this chance to fight and enjoying it to the max.
Suddenly, Linda appeared at her side. "What happened? What are you guys doing?"
Alina gestured towards the guy she fought, now slumped on the ground beside her, then to the guy Hikari knocked out, and the ongoing fight. "What do you think?"
Linda sighed. "You're telling me the full story later." She glanced at Korū and Cole. "Korū, finish up quickly before a teacher comes, or I'll do it for you."
"Tch. Just leave it," Korū spat, turning away from Cole.
Linda nodded and started dragging her three friends away from the scene as quickly as she could. The next thing they knew, they were in their next class. They were early, so there was no one in the class yet.
The moment they settled down, Linda exploded. "What were you guys thinking? You don't even know who they are!"
"The heck are you saying?" Korū asked, irritated. "They were assholes, we just taught them a lesson."
Linda flicked a finger at his forehead, getting a glare. "You just beat up three future Alphas of three different packs. I don't think anyone's mummies and daddies would be glad when their children go back home today with broken noses and wrists."
"Hey, I didn't break his nose. The wall just, I don't know, burst a capillary or something. I hardly touched him. And Hikari didn't even draw blood. Also, if I was their mum, I'd be ashamed of them and their skills." Alina said, swinging an arm over Linda's shoulder.
"The so-called 'future Alphas' won't even be able to keep their packs in line if they can't even land a hit on someone in a high-school fight." Korū leaned back in his seat.
"Besides, what are they gonna do?" Hikari added. "Start a war?"
"Wow, I don't know, get you guys expelled? I'm not letting my friends get themselves kicked out on the second day of school and leave my lonely ass alone again." Linda shot back.
Alina gave a chortle, "Sis, I don't think they would do that. Expelling us would just announce to all the packs that they can't handle us. Stop worrying so much."
Linda shook her head, a small smile on her face. "You're impossible."
"We all are," Hikari chimed in. "Especially Korū."
"Hah?" Korū poked a finger at his sister's cheek. "Say that one more time and Okaa-san's gonna be scraping you off our wall with a spatula."
"She's not wrong, you know." Linda said, causing Alina to laugh even louder.
