Chereads / Daughters of House Castellan / Chapter 170 - Chapter 170

Chapter 170 - Chapter 170

The surroundings have turned dark now that night has crept in. The demon beasts kept coming without cease and we kept fighting them nonstop. Athy had summoned more spirit warriors to help us with the fight, letting the knights rest and get treated by the only healer we have. Uriel got bored with using her weapon and had changed her fighting style into using her abilities. I have also started to use my abilities and even summoned water guardians to help with the fight. With our bodies as vessels, we were able to use unlimited force soul that fuel our abilities.

"How long do we have to do this?" Athy asked as she landed beside me.

"Tired?" I asked while drowning a four-armed gorilla in a water ball.

"Bored." She replied with a sigh.

"Should we finish this?" Uriel shouted from the top of a lizard looking demon beast.

"We should." Athy said. She stood up and raised her hands. "Come forth, spirit knights."

A whole legion of spirit knights came out to heed Athy's summon. They were the spirits of knights that are now serving Sidapa and now serving his vessel, Athy.

"Spirits of the wind, heed my call." Uriel followed.

Beautiful flying nymphs appeared when Uriel called the Dodogas, the spirits of the wind. They ae able to fight and cannot be pierced by weapons.

"Come, Water guardians." I called upon my summons.

Water dragons came pouring from the ground and coiled on the demon beasts, preventing them from moving. This made it easier for Athy's spirit knights to cut the demon beasts down with one strong strike.

With all our summons coming together, the fight easily came to a conclusion. We were able to win without a single death on our side. Well, on the Castellan's side. I have no idea about the others behind the fog. Though we only let weakened demon beasts pass through, if the knights of other houses are weak, there might still be losses.

I glanced at the dragons who were surrounding me.

One, two, three, four, five. Five dragons have heeded my call.

"Thank you for your help." I told them gratefully.

"It is our duty to help the vessel in times of need." A dragon replied in an old horse voice.

"Call upon us whenever you need, my lady." Another replied with the voice of a woman which reminded me of Miss Bloom.

"I will." I nodded at her. "When the time comes, I will summon you again."

The dragons made a nod before evaporating into thin air.

Athy and Uriel approached me, their summons have also returned to their places.

"Are you okay?" I asked them and they both nodded.

We looked around us and saw corpses of demon beasts in different sizes and state. Some were burned, cut into pieces, some were just dead with no sign of wounds. Blood were pooling on our feet, dyeing the snowy ground with purplish blood.

"I feel disgusting." Athy spoke as she raised her feet which was splattered with demon beast blood.

"I feel you." Uriel nodded. "I feel sticky and icky, like I did not take a bath for a year.

I rolled my eyes at both of them.

Dramatic.

"My lady." A soft call from behind me made us all turn. "Should we head back now? I am worried about her grace being left alone at the tent."

I nodded at her. I actually forgot that mother was at the tent and that father and the others who joined the hunt are still not back. There was no sign of Sebastiene too.

"Let's go." I spoke with a smile. "We won today."

Loud cheers erupted from the knights who fought with us in this battle without question. They raised their swords, a sign of victory. Seeing them happy and alive, I and my sisters also raised our weapon with pride.

We wrapped up everything and walked out of the fog.

There were a couple corpses of demon beasts lying on the ground. Knights of different houses were panting and leaning on their weapons, as if they just fought a very difficult fight. The moment they saw us, they stood straight and watched us as we walked back to the camps, unscathed. Our dresses and armors were stained with purple blood but there were no injuries visible.

I walked in front with my sisters and saintess Sachi with Loki and the others following behind us with straight but proud faces.

"Lady Castellan!" Lady Polit exclaimed when we reached the camps.

"How is mother, Lady Polit?" I asked as soon as we reached her.

"Her grace is well, not a single demon beast was able to get past us." She replied proudly.

"Any news of the hunt?" I asked her as we walked towards our tent where mother was.

"Still none." She answered with a solemn face.

"I see." I nodded and we both entered our tent.

Mother was sitting on the chair, Susan in her lap, sleeping.

She became teary eyed when she saw us but refrained from moving so Susan would not be woken up. Maximillian was sleeping soundly on the bed.

"Where is Lady Rutchel?" I asked when I noticed the viscountess was nowhere in sight.

"Lady Rutchel is currently healing the injured knights." Lady Polit Answered. "There are many knights who were injured in battle.

'What battle?' Uriel spoke in my head.

"Are there any casualties?" I asked her.

"Fortunately, there were none." She answered with a smile.

"That's good." As soon as those words left my mouth, a knight came running inside our tent, panting.

"They have returned!" He exclaimed breathlessly.
