Chereads / Daughters of House Castellan / Chapter 164 - Chapter 164

Chapter 164 - Chapter 164

I walked around other tents looking for Athy and the Rutchel's daughter, Susan. Other nobles were panicking and some were even packing up their things and getting ready to leave.

I went around the whole camp, tried using my ability to look for her and yet no signs of Athy or any of her company. I was starting to get anxious, it was not normal for her to disappear without informing anyone.

I was already planning to summon Parsua so I could ask Sidapa where my sister was, when I sensed an enormous killing intent coming from the royal tent.

'Athy!' I immediately thought and ran towards the tent where the queen and the second prince were staying.

"I told you, there will be blood spilled if you continue this." I heard Loki spoke in a low tone and the scent of fresh blood hit my nose.

I was about to rush in when the royal guards stopped me outside the tent door.

"How dare you a mere butler disobey me?!" A sharp voice answered. "I am the queen, if I say that they are to stay here and play with the second prince, then they will!"

I frowned.

"Move." I ordered the guards who were blocking me. They did not move, yet their fear was obvious from how their hands were shaking.

"Lady Castellan." A soft voice from behind made me look back.

Standing there in her black dress and red blindfold was the saintess of death, Sachi. She was being escorted by a two royal knights like she was a criminal.

"Saintess Sachi?" I frowned and went near her. "What are you doing here?"

Saintess Sachi's perfect brows furrowed together as she held my hands in hers.

"My lady, please listen to me." She grasped my hands tightly. "Someone opened a portal somewhere in the mountains. Soon, this entire place will be swarming with demon beasts."

"Then we should evacuate everyone here." I said and tried to leave but she held my hand tighter.

"My lady, if you leave, the demon beasts will swarm the north and nothing will be left of the villages and towns that they will pass through. There will be no time for the people to evacuate and they will die." She said. "Those demon beasts should be stopped here or the entire northern territory will disappear and become their dwelling."

"How did you know this?" I asked her.

"Lord Sidapa has given me a vision." She answered.

"And he only did it now?" I asked in annoyance. That idiot god is really an idiot.

"I have warned the royal family before but they did not take my warning seriously and still continued this winter hunt event." Saintess Sachi explained.

"Stupid royals." I muttered before looking at her again. "Come with me."

I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the royal's tent again. The guards who were escorting her tried to stop us but froze when I glared at them. The guards who were at the door of the tent also tried to stop us but they both froze on the spot. Literally.

I rushed in and saw the queen sitting on her soft chair looking viciously at Loki who was standing in the middle, surrounded by royal knights.

"Loki. Athy?" I asked as soon as I saw him.

Loki looked at me and bowed.

"Lady Athanasia is in that crystal orb her highness's maid is holding." He replied.

I looked at the crystal ball.

"How dare you burst in here without any respect!" The queen shouted and pointed a heavily decorated finger. "Get her!"

The maid raised her hand, making Loki and Saintess Sachi flinch but nothing happened. She just continued standing there with her hand raised towards me.

"Athy, stop playing." I spoke in an annoyed tone.

The queen stared at me and then to her maid.

"What are you doing?" The queen yelled at her maid. "Put her inside! Take that annoying saintess with her!"

The maid stayed in her position like a statue, not even her eyes moved. The queen yelled at her one more time before realizing what was happening.

"Wha-? The queen tuned to look at me. "What did you do?"

"Athy." I called again, ignoring the queen.

"Your sister has been invited to play with the second prince. You should be grateful that someone like her was chosen." The queen sneered.

I threw her a sharp look that made her quiet, but she immediately recovered and smirked at me in a malicious manner.

"Unless my maid is able to move again, your sister will stay inside that crystal-"

The queen stopped talking when the crystal in her maid's hand started cracking like an egg. With each crack, light glowed from inside until it was completely destroyed.

"What? H-how?" The queen's eyes widened as she stared at the two girls who appeared in front of her.

Athy looked bored, as always, and a blond, curly haired girl was standing beside her with an amazed look on her face.

"What do you want, sister?" Athy asked in her usual nonchalant tone.

"Mother is looking for you." I told her before glancing at the little girl beside her. "Lady Rutchel is also looking for her daughter."

"'kay." Athy replied and turned to the little girl beside her. "Let's go see your mother first."

The little girl nodded and was about to walk out with Athy when the queen suddenly shouted.

"Where do you think you're going?" She stopped them. "Guards! Kill them if they take as much as a step outside."

"If I was not in a hurry to protect the people, I would have time to play with you." I said in a low tone, then looked at the queen over my shoulder and gave her a cold smile. "But don't worry your highness, we'll get there."

I turned to leave again with Athy and the others behind me. We got out of the tent and I could still hear the queen screaming for the guards to stop us.
