Chereads / Daughters of House Castellan / Chapter 158 - Chapter 158

Chapter 158 - Chapter 158

The sounds of trumpet only meant one thing, the Royal family has arrived and it is a call for all the subject to go meet them and bow down.

Father, mother and us sisters all went out and stood outside our tent. The other nobles have come out too.

A fancy white and gold carriage with a white flag on top. The flag had a golden sun with a halo embroidered on it, the symbol of the royal family. The sun of the kingdom.

"Too fancy." Athy commented on my side.

"Right." I nodded. It was indeed too fancy. The white, the gold and all the shiny silver armors the royal knights were wearing. It was all too fancy, like they were trying to show off.

"Are they trying to show off their power or are they showing off just to us?" Uriel, who just came back to our side, asked.

"I bet they are just showing off to us." Athy sneered.

The carriage came to a stop and a red carpet was rolled open on the ground a few meters long. The knights lined on each side of the carpet, their gold plums swaying in the wind. A knight walked to the carriage door and opened it.

"His Majesty, the King, has arrived!" A herald announced and everyone bowed down or curtsied, everyone except us Castellans.

A man in his fifty's came out of the carriage. He had red hair and a red bushy beard. He was wearing an armor without the helmet and a long golden mantle. His eyes were droopy like he drunk a barrel of wine the night before. After stepping out of the carriage, he stepped forward and looked around with his chin up.

The next one who stepped out of the carriage was a green-eyed lady, her hair the color of old dried hay. She was wearing a red dress and a golden mantle hung from her shoulders. Her eyes were blank and she made no efforts to smile to her subject. She looked like she didn't even want to be here.

The king did not even bother to look at the woman beside him, his eyes staring directly to my mother. He let out a disgusting smile and walked forward towards us, his bulging stomach juggling under his armor. He stopped right in front of my mother and smiled even wider.

"Lady Anastasia, it has been a while since I last saw you." The king ignored my father and immediately greeted my mother.

"Your majesty." Mother spoke emotionlessly as she looked at the king in the eyes.

The king feeling awkward at my mother's greeting, or lack thereof, turned to look at my father and frowned. "You did not even bow down in front of the royals, Archduke?"

"Unless the rule stating that we, The Castellans, are never to bow down to royals have been changed, then there is absolutely no reason for me to." Father sneered. "But you can ask my daughters if they'd like to bow to you."

"Humph!" The king humphed and turned towards us. "Daughters of House Castellan.."

The king had not even finished his sentence, Athy turned around to go back into the tent without a word with Loki on her heel.

"Hey!" A young man, in gold embroidered clothes shouted at Athy. He was around twelve or thirteen years old, with a round face and red bob cut hair. His fringe made him look plumper and even more mean looking.

Athy turned around and raised her brow.

"Are you blind? Did you not see my father, your king, speaking? How dare you turn your back on the king!" He shouted furiously at Athy.

"Loki, who is that fatso?" Athy looked up at the butler beside her.

"That is the second prince of Elleveire, Rudious Krior Dela Elleveire." Loki replied beside her.

"That ugly thing is a prince?" Athy scoffed. "How disappointing."

Athy looked at the king again.

"I guess the apple really do not fall far from the tree." She added before she turned around and went in the tent.

The prince trembled with anger and pointed a fat finger towards our tent.

"Arrest her!" He screamed.

The royal knights took out arms and faced out tent.

"If any of you take one step towards my sister, I will make sure your families will lose the gods and goddesses blessing your entire lives." I spoke calmly, a smile on my face.

The royal knights all froze on their spots. To lose the blessings of the deities would be the same as throwing away your life, you would be doomed for misfortunes your entire life. I specifically mentioned 'family' to let them know that they would not be the only ones suffering.

"What are you doing?! Did you not hear me?!" The fat prince screamed. "I ordered you to arrest her that uneducated piece of hmmmp!"

A hand clamped the second prince's mouth before he could spout any word which could lead the stupid fatso's head to fly.

I could actually feel Athy waiting for him to call her names to have an excuse to kill a royal without getting a backlash. I could also feel Heyva Sor being summoned.

Lucky idiot someone stopped him.
