Chereads / Daughters of House Castellan / Chapter 156 - Chapter 156

Chapter 156 - Chapter 156

The day of the winter hunt has arrived. Most noble houses had started to travel towards the Salvatore Dukedom days ago. The travel time from Westreon to the Salvatore dukedom in the north was three days by horse and five days by carriage. Fortunately, we have the portals that could reduce our travel time into three hours. But we will not be arriving directly inside the dukedom but just outside the territory, so we will need to travel for two more hours to arrive at the camp at the foot of the Guvino Mountain.

"My lady, everything is ready." Sebastiene came in my study and informed me.

I nodded and followed him outside where my parents and sisters were waiting for me. Father was giving last minute instructions to Ragnar's sister who was the head maid. After a few moments, we were all set to travel.

This will be the first time in years where the entire Castellan family will go out and show themselves to the other nobles. This is also the first time they will see me after knowing that I have become a vessel.

Sebastiene aided us in getting on the carriage while he and Loki rode a horse. Ragnar Ajax sat at the other carriage where Klaus was sitting. The maids were in another carriage while all the knights were riding their horses. Father was on top of his mount, Shadow, and ready to depart.

Arriving at the portal, Sebastiene used his force soul to open it. The portal usually requires four force soul but with Sebastiene's strength, he could probably open all the portals at the same time. With the portal connected to the boundary of Westreon's northers border, we departed.

I slept inside the carriage the whole travel in the portal and only woke up when we were already close to Guvino. Mother and Uriel were chatting about some trivial things while Athy was busy looking outside her window. There was really nothing to look outside but bald trees covered in snow as well as the ground.

"Are we close yet?" Athy asked Loki who rode by her window.

"We are almost there, my lady." Loki replied, his breath fogging the air. "You can already see the smoke from the campfires."

I opened the curtain on my window and I could feel the cold air on my face. The carriages was equipped with heat magic, an ability of Marionne, which heats the inside of the carriages. It was like a heater for cars.

"Seb." I called on the idiot butler who was riding his horse without holding the reigns. His arms wide open as he faced the sky with his eyes closed, welcoming the snow that were falling.

Sebastiene quickly led his hose to slow down and walk beside my window.

"Yes, my lady?" He asked with a bright smile.

"How long till we arrive?" I asked him. "And wipe yourself. You look like a child who just saw snow for the first time.

"Apologies my lady." Sebastiene chuckled, took out his handkerchief and wiped his face.

"Are our tents ready?" I asked him. We have sent knights on horses to set up out tents so we could rest when we arrive.

"Yes, my lady." Sebastiene nodded. "Sir Ragnar went with the knights first to make sure everything is ready for our arrival. General Marionne also went to heat up the tent."

"Good." I sighed. "How is our knights doing?"

"The weather adaptability magic you have had added to their armors are keeping them warm. Even the warming cream we lathered the horses with are working really well. There is nothing to worry about, my lady." Sebastiene assured me.

"Okay." I nodded.

I had all the knight's uniforms be embedded with weather adjusting magic. If the weather is warm, the armor will keep the temperature cool and when the weather is cold, it will keep the knights warm. As for the horses, Elaheh created a cream-like potion that warms their bodies and the armor also warms them. Very useful things that we had created because of Sebastiene saying that he could control his body's temperature to adapt to the weather.

"My lady, we are now entering the Camp grounds." Sebastiene suddenly informed me. I poke my head out a little and saw the tents with flags that have symbols of the houses that owned them.

I pulled back in and closed the window. I didn't want to see how other nobles would stare at our carriages, I mean, I find it creepy.

Even though our windows were closed, we could still hear the gasps and murmurs outside. I wouldn't even call it murmurs anymore, it was more like they wanted us to hear them.

A few moments later, the carriage stopped and Sebastiene opened the door for us.

"We have arrived, your grace, my ladies."
