After meeting with the six people from different races, I went to check the beasts that were also used auctioned. They were all still in their cages as they were hostile and uncontrollable. The other six were currently meeting with Athy and Uriel who are in charge of sending them back and the letter of request for the leaders.
I looked around and the beasts were snarling and growling at me. Demon beasts are considered dangerous and usually attack in groups. They are animals that have received evil magic and revolved into evil creatures that have no sense of understanding and attacks anything that moves. They also have less or no use at all and are usually black in color and has a putrid smell. Wild beasts are animals that lived in the wild who are edible and some could even be tamed and turned into pets.
"Seb, what is that?" I asked and pointed at what looked like a white fur ball
"That is a baby snow fox, my lady." Sebastiene answered as we moved closer to it.
"Are they dangerous?" I asked, trying to see its face but it was curled up in a way that its head was covered by its tail.
"In the wild, yes." Sebastiene nodded. "But, if you train it while it's young, then it could become your pet."
"It's trainable?" I asked but then frowned. "I can't, I have to bring it back to its kind or it might become miserable."
"We cannot take it back to the wild, my lady." Sebastiene shook his head lightly. "It has either been snacked from its pack or the pack has either left it or died. If we throw it back to the northern mountain, it would only die of hunger or loneliness."
"We can find another pack to join?" I suggested as I bent down to look at it closely.
"Snow foxes are not that welcoming to others and are hostile to other packs. The little one could end up as food." Sebastiene explained.
"Then what do you suggest we do?" I turned to him.
"Well, you could find someone to take care of it and make it a pet." He suggested.
I frowned and pursed my lips. I did not like the sound of that.
"Or you could turn him into something else." Sebastiene said with a bright smile.
"Turn it into what?" I asked, wondering if the baby snow fox can shape shift.
"Well, he will be a good source of fur for a scarf or a winter coat. Sebastiene suggested thoughtlessly. "Or a fluffy fur carpet for Lady Athanasia."
I turned to stare at Sebastiene, raised the corners of my lips into an icy smile that could send shivers to anyone who saw it.
Sebastiene, seeing the smile I gave him, awkwardly coughed to clear his throat.
"I was just suggesting the things a snow fox can be turned into." He said without looking at me.
"No killing it." I said through my teeth.
Sebastiene cleared his throat again and nodded.
"The only way to save it now is to adopt it or have it adopted and trained." Sebastiene said dismissively.
I sighed and stared the little white fur ball that was curled in the middle of the cage.
"The snow fox is also a good pet, my lady." Sebastiene spoke again. "It is smart and strong. It is from the Canine descent so it can also be very loyal to its master."
I looked at Sebastiene.
"It is strong?" I asked in surprise.
"Yes, my lady." Snow foxes have the ability to control ice and snow which they use to protect themselves against other beasts and also to hunt for food."
I looked at the little fox again. A pet that could protect its master. It is something that would become useful in a fight.
"Oh!" Sebastiene suddenly exclaimed. "They also grow as big as a horse, so they are also used as mounts."
I gasped and stood up abruptly.
"It is a good pet, but I am still hesitant to give it to anyone." I said with a light shook of my head. "It may be useful, but to tame it, they will need to use force and hurt it. I do not wish for it to be hurt."
"Well, you could ask a beast tamer to tame it professionally?" Sebastiene suggested.
"And where am I going to find a tamer?" I asked, making Sebastiene unable to answer.
Beast tamers are not only expensive, they are also rare. In the entire kingdom, there are only two known beast tamers, and both are serving the royal family.
"We could ask lady Athanasia if she could use Kaido to train the little one." Sebastiene suggested again.
I thought about it for some time.
"We could try." I nodded.
Athy is fond of cute things but her fondness doesn't last very long. Her patience is even shorter than it so it could be very dangerous for the snow fox if it pisses Athy off. But it was the only solution we have right now. If it does not work, we'll just find another one.
I continued to walk around and I saw a number of wild beasts, and most of them were still young. Sebastiene explained to me the ways we could deal with the beasts with returning it to its natural habitat as the priority.
Besides the snow fox, there were two other items that we are unable to return to their homes. One was a dragon's egg and the other was a Treant seedling. Sebastiene told me not to worry about the egg since it will take hundreds of years before it hatches. On the other hand, it was a bit problematic to find what to do with the seedling.
"Can't we just plant it?" I asked Sebastiene who was rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"A treant cannot live just anywhere, my lady." He answered. "We need to find someone who knows about it."
"Okay." I nodded and we started to head back out, but I stopped by the little snow fox's cage. "Bring him out with us."
"Yes, my lady." Sebastiene opened the cage.
Hearing its cage clinking, the little fox opened its eyes and jumped back, growling ferociously. When it saw Sebastiene it curled itself and started whimpering like a scare little puppy. Sebastiene casually picked it up and carried it out.
"It looks unusually scared of you. Why?" I asked.
Sebastiene just gave me a mysterious smile but did not say anything.
When we got out of the training room I raised my hands to reach for the little fox but Sebastiene stopped me.
"My lady, it would be dangerous for you to hold it while it is still untamed or undomesticated yet."
"Okay." I rolled my eyes sarcastically at him. "Take it to Athy and see what she could do about it."
"And for the other beasts, my lady?" Sebastiene asked.
"Return those we could return to their natural habitats, keep the egg and the seedling." I answered before coldly adding: "Kill all the demon beasts."
"Yes, my lady." Sebastiene bowed with a cold smile.
