Chapter 148 - Chapter 148

Looking at these angry and confused faces inside numerous cages, I get the feeling that I won't finish the task Lady Melody has given me without hurting at least one of these guys. The problem is, lady Melody asked me to try and not hurt them, which is the challenging part. As a demon king, I was used to using my ability to annihilate armies, erasing kingdoms off the map and torturing others until they submit. To think I would be receiving an order that consisted of 'not' hurting someone. Funny.

I looked at the auction items that were living, succubus, a mermaid, a fairy, a lycan, an elf and a Minotaur. The fairy and the elf were easy to deal with as they have a calm nature. For the others, it would be a disaster if they got out. These demon kinds are naturally arrogant and hot-headed, especially the minotaur, they are very stubborn and hard to talk with.

"Sebastiene." Klaus called me which took me out of my reverie. "Can we really talk with these creature rationally?"

I put on a confident smile and nodded at him.

"The young ladies would like to meet with them, we can only try our best to reason with them to listen to us." I answered him.

"But they look like they won't listen to us though." Klaus said as he glanced at the minotaur who was releasing smoke through its nose."

"I think the winged one can be reasoned with." Sir Anderson commented and pointed to the tiny fairy sitting with her legs curled to her chest, in the middle of her similarly tiny cage.

"Yes, we should start with the fairy." I said and approached the fairy.

Fairies are also considered as the peaceful guardians of the forests. They are beautiful tiny creatures that liv for as long as the tree they live on, lives. Unlike the elves who are protectors of the forests and are amazing fighters, fairies are non-fighting races. They live to help the forests thrive by planting more trees, helping injured animals, and help animals give birth too. But some people are just too greedy and wanted them as pets. Their kind and peaceful nature are being taken advantage of and they are used as gifts for children who has no idea how to take care of them, so they end up dying.

"Hello." I greeted the little fairy who was trembling in fear. "Do not be afraid, little one, I will not hurt you."

"That is what they all say." A coquettish voice interrupted. "They will not hurt you, but they will kill you."

I turned around and saw a beautiful lady wearing a red body hugging dress, her head of gold was tied into a bun above her head. She had an alluring smile on her face but her red eyes had a glint of mocking in them.

A succubus.

"Unfortunately, we are really not allowed to hurt any of you, as per our lady's orders." I answered her with a smile of my own.

"A demon like you who has reduced into a human's servant cannot be trusted." Another arrogant voice interrupted.

I turned around and saw the lycan, in its wolf form, glaring at me.

"It was my choice to serve her." I answered him.

"Choice?" The lycan laughed sarcastically joined by the succubus. "Did you even have a choice when she bought you?"

"Bought?" I chuckled. "Unlike you sir, I was never sold."

I looked at the lycan sarcastically.

"I was never defeated by some mere humans and thrown into a cage I could not get out of and just waited to be sold off." I smiled at him but my tone was mocking. "So yes, I had choices and I chose to serve my lady."

"Ha! You can't fool me!" The lycan shouted, enraged. "A demon will never serve a human. Unless that certain demon has no pride."

"Oh. I have my pride." I looked at him in ridicule. "The pride of a demon, intact and whole. What about you sir? Do you still have your pride as a lycan? The so called physically strongest demon clan? After being defeated and caged like a mutt, do you still have your pride?"

"Arghhhh!" The lycan charged to the cage bars and was immediately burned by the poison on it. He stepped back after realizing how stupid he was. "You're lucky I am inside this damned cage, or I would have ripped you apart and let you taste your first defeat!"

"My first defeat?" I chuckled and raised my hand. All the cages moved on the sides, including Klaus and Sir Anderson, leaving the lycan's cage in the middle with me. "I would like to see if you could."

I touched the gate with my bare hands and ripped the bars open. Surprise was written all over the lycan's face.

"I would really like to see how strong you are to be this arrogant in front of me." I say and stood in the middle. But the lycan did not move. "What are you waiting for? Don't tell me you are just all bark and no bite?"

The lycan lunged at me. His mouth wide open, ready to bite my head off.

Stupid.

I slapped him using my right hand and he flew to the side hitting the succubus's cage and dropped down on the floor spurting blood through his mouth.

"Now." I smiled at the others. "Are you going to listen to my proposal or do I have to defeat all of you?"
