The men in black stood in front of their boss to stop my attack. Good for them, they had someone whose ability was shield. He was able to stop my attack but was not able to save his head. The person next to him tried to attack me with an axe so I twisted my body and swung my sword upwards across his body. His insides fell on the ground still steaming from his body heat. The other men tried to attack but the boss raised his hand to stop them.
"I suggest you surrender, lady Castellan." The boss said as he walked towards me. "What we want are the files and Madam Bloom. If you surrender them to us, there will be no need to hurt you."
I swung my sword to remove the blood on it and raised an eyebrow at the man.
"A tad bit late to say that, isn't it?" I smirked. "I won't make you surrender though, all of you must die here."
The boss raised his hand a flame instantly surrounded it.
"I warned you." He repeated what I said earlier to his men and dashed forward with his fist aiming for me.
I rolled my eyes at him.
Copycat!
With a smile hovering on my lips, I stood in place and waited for his punch. When his fist was in front of my face, I raised my hand and caught it.
The flames on his hand sizzled ferociously before it burnt out.
"W-what?" The boss asked with a trembling voice as he looked at the tiny hand holding his fist. He tried to pull his hand away but I held into it like glue, not even moving an inch. When he realized that pulling was not working, he tried to ignite his flames.
Unfortunately, my inert ability is liquid control, including water. So I just wrapped my pretty little hand in a layer of ice cold water from the spring of life and boom, no flames can ever hurt me. But I was too lazy to explain that to him so I just extinguished all the flames he conjured on his fist.
When the flame on his fist did not work, he conjured fire all around me and exploded them together. Too bad, I also learned to create barrier to protect myself from close range attacks. So it did not only not hurt me, it hurt him instead.
Stupid.
He thought that by exploding those fireballs, I would die and he could go with minor injuries. Wrong again. He only hurt himself from his stupidity.
"You know," I spoke while still holding his fist. "my ability is water, so I doubt you will ever be able to hurt me."
The boss looked at me with angry eyes while smoke was still coming out from his body due to himself. He tried yanking his hand again but I still held tightly to it.
"You may be able to protect yourself, but what about your little sister inside?" He said grimly. I turned to see that the carriage behind me was surrounded by fire balls, the same one he used to try and explode me to smithereens.
"That would be the most stupid thing you will ever do." I said as I looked back at him with all seriousness. "Trust me."
"Ahahahaha!" He chuckle manically. "Do you think I'll be scared to blow a little kid? No. My orders were to take the documents from Karciel's office. But if I am unable to, I can just destroy them. Burning them down is equivalent to destroying them!"
The fireballs then attacked the carriage and exploded with a loud sound. The explosion covered the carriage with flames and smoke.
"I was not warning you because of the documents." I sighed and let his hand go. "I'm warning you because my little sister is taking a nap inside and she hates being woken up without a reason."
The boss quickly jumped back to his comrade while shaking the hand I held. I raised my sword and it disappeared in midair. I heard the door of the carriage open under all the smoke.
"You are so dead." I shook my head lightly and looked at the men in black.
A light breeze made the smoke move away and a perfectly shiny black carriage could be seen. The door was open and a tiny little girl wearing a black dress stepped down. Her slightly chubby cheeks were pink and her eyes were a bit droopy, instigating that she just woke up. Her brows were slightly furrowed and her eyes was focused on the men in black.
"Who dared to light firecrackers outside my window?" Athy asked, he tone, annoyed.
"Mister black guy over there." I pointed to the boss. "I warned him."
Athy stared at the boss and in an instant she was right in front of him. She was only a little taller that the man's knees so she was looking up to see his face.
"You woke me up." Athy said coldly.
