Seeing that Karciel was speeding towards him, Sebastiene did not move. He remained standing there with a devilish smile painted on his lips.
The knights who were watching this scene thought that Sebastiene was not able to react to Karciel's speed, but those who have been able to deduct Sebastiene's personality like Haktor, they knew that Sebastiene was actually just mocking Karciel by not moving. It had always been his strongest point. To annoy his enemies.
Karciel suddenly appeared in Sebastiene's face with his fist swinging towards Sebastiene's abdomen. Right before the fist landed on his stomach, Sebastiene smiled widely.
A booming sound was heard the moment Karciel's fist connected with Sebastiene's body. The power behind the punch was strong enough that even the rocks around them flew away due to the impact. Everyone thought that Sebastiene would have flown back or at the very least fall a few steps back from it.
To everyone's shock and Karciel's dismay, Sebastiene remained standing there looking at Karciel with a mocking smile.
Karciel jumped back and raised the hand he used to punch Sebastiene. The hand looked weird with the fingers bending in odd angles. They were definitely broken.
Karciel narrowed his eyes at Sebastiene.
"What is your body made of?" He suddenly asked.
Sebastiene shrugged and brushed the part where Karciel's fist connected, using the back of his hand.
"Is this the strength you were talking so proudly before?" Sebastiene asked after dusting himself. "It's too weak that I am actually disappointed."
His casual manner annoyed Karciel, but the latter did not let his feelings get the best of him this time. He learned from the punch earlier that Sebastiene was strong. Winning him over would be more beneficial for him than to fight him head on.
As for Sebastiene, although he had taken a punch from someone an elf said was strong, he did not actually feel it. As a matter of fact, not only did he not feel anything from it, he even felt lied to by those that said Karciel was strong. He was uninterested with him now.
Feeling Sebastiene's disinterest in him, Karciel suddenly spoke.
"Are you really human?" he asked.
Sebastiene looked at him and frowned.
"Did you not hear general Haktor refer to me as a demon butler earlier?" Sebastiene asked as if he was talking to an idiot. "He wasn't being sarcastic."
"Cocky little bastard!" Karciel sneered.
Karciel was about to dash forward again when Sebastiene raised his hand to stop him.
"General, I'm done." Sebastiene spoke to Haktor who was leaning on the wall. "I'm not interested in him anymore. He's all yours."
Haktor's face brightened and his serious face broke into a wide grin.
"Finally!" He said as he walked forward with his weapon over his shoulder. "I was starting to feel sleepy over there!"
Sebastiene also walked towards the knights, leaving the dumbfounded Karciel behind. The two men even did a high five when they walked past each other. They looked like they were just playing and changing players.
Sebastiene occupied Haktor's spot on the wall while Haktor stood a few meters away front of Karciel, warming up.
Seeing a new enemy in front of him, Karciel focused on Haktor. Sebastiene did say that Haktor was the general and the leader of the knights for this raid so he expected him to be strong. Karciel did not just go for the kill right away and studied Haktor first. He pulled out a sword and narrowed his eyes at Haktor.
He was studying Haktor when the man in front of him suddenly disappeared.
"Where did he go?" Karciel looked around frantically.
"I'm here." Haktor whispered.
Karciel swung his word backwards the moment he heard Haktor's voice from behind him. But unfortunately, the only thing he sliced was air.
"You should never turn your back on the enemy." Haktor said as he appeared out of thin air and landed a powerful punch on Karciel's face.
Karciel flew backwards like a wet cloth that was thrown and hit the wall. The impact of the punch was so strong that a moderate breeze was felt by the knight who were watching a little further away. It even caused some of them to flinch and unconsciously touch their faces as if feeling the punch themselves.
On the wall, many meters away, Karciel slowly stood up holding his face. He wiped the blood off the corner of his mouth after spitting some.
"I was not expecting the general of the Knights of Noktis to be weaker than a butler." Karciel sneered, his eyes mocking.
"I am." Haktor replied good-naturedly with a shrug. "But that does not mean that I am weaker than a little rat like you."
"A rat?" Karciel chuckled darkly. "A rat with the ability to create an underground business inside the Castellan's territory. Quite the feat isn't it?"
"No matter the feat, if you get caught, it would mean nothing." Sebastiene snickered. "A rat will always be a rat. Right?"
Karciel's eyes narrowed dangerously and he released an immense killing aura that sent shivers to the people on the red street.
