Chapter 103 - Chapter 103

I left the women with Astrid as I know that she would want to speak with them privately. But I do not trust them, so I left Klent there.

Klent actually did not hide himself, he was helped by Anderson who created a barrier to make him unnoticeable. It also made quite the impact to those women if they learned that there was someone they couldn't detect. It would keep them from making any sudden attacks as they would think that there are others around.

"Seb, send someone to invite Miss Bloom to the castle undercover." I told Sebastiene as he got out from the bathroom to ready my bath. "I believe that Karciel would keep an eye out for whoever comes and goes from the castle so make sure to also keep an eye out for the spies."

"Yes, my lady." Sebastiene smiled before asking. "What do we do with the spies?"

"Keep them in the dungeon." The corner of my lips lifted, showing a cold, mocking smile. "I bet those two are bored of only seeing each other until now."

Sebastiene's face lit up from what I said and in an amused tone replied: "Yes, my lady."

I went to the bath and laid my body on the tub. The warm water infused with fragrant oils filled my senses making me relaxed.

I thought back on those ladies from before, Astrid's sisters. They were strong. I was worried about them. Not because they were strong, but because they were Astrid's sisters. Even though Astrid had vowed to loyalty to House Castellan, it does not mean that she is not free to leave. I am afraid that with her sister's appearance, Astrid might want to leave with them when this is all over.

I frowned at the thought.

Mother like Astrid as her head maid. She was not only capable but also strong enough to protect mother. She was also smart and easily gets along with others, even though she always looked strict. She was always wearing a serious face, but not like Ragnar Ajax who was clearly lacking with facial expressions, she just have this air of superiority to her. I heard from Sebastiene that the other employees would go to her if they have questions or requests. She was acting as the head maid until the other Ajax lady arrived.

"Haaaaaa.." I sighed.

I need to find a way to keep her of her own choice.

When I got out of the bath, Sebastiene was waiting inside my room with a complex look. In his hand was a paper and an envelope.

"What is it Seb?" I approached him looking at the things in his hands.

"I received a report from our informant just now, my lady." He said as he gave me the paper with the envelope. "And your father, His grace, received an invitation."

"From who?" I asked as I walked to the vanity mirror looking at the report first.

"From His majesty, the king." Sebastiene replied flatly.

I stopped reading the report and checked the envelope. Indeed, it had the royal insignia on the stamp.

"Go check if my sisters are awake, if they are, bring them here. If not, just let them sleep and fixed a time for them to meet me." I instructed him as I stared at the letter, struggling whether to open it or wait for my sisters.

Sebastiene looked at me worriedly.

"What is it Seb?" I asked, turning around to face him.

Sebastiene stared at the letter and his face blackened.

"There is something in that envelope together with the letter, my lady." Sebastiene frowned lightly. "Like some kind of powder with a weird smell."

I furrowed my brow and glanced at the letter.

"Poison?" I asked him.

"It does not smell like any poison I have come across." Sebastiene shook his head. "But I doubt that it is anything good."

If Sebastiene thinks that it is not something good, then I would definitely trust his instincts.

"Go and summon Elaheh." I instructed him. "If it is some kind of poison, she should be the one to know about it."

"Yes, my lady." Sebastiene bowed and went out the door.

I placed the letter on the table and went back to the bathroom to wash my hands. I changed into my nightgown and waited for Sebastiene to come back.

A few minutes passed and there was a light knock on the door.

"My lady, I have brought, Miss Elaheh." Sebastiene announced.

"Come in." I replied.

Sebastiene opened the door and let Elaheh, who was in her sleepwear under her robes. I guess Athy is already asleep since her maid is already about to sleep.

"You called for me, eldest lady?" Elaheh's soft voice asked.

"Yes, I have something for you to check." I motioned at the letter on the table. "Sebastiene said that there was something amiss with the letter. He is not sure if it is poison or something else, so I called for you."

Elaheh went to the table and picked up the letter before taking a sniff. Her eyes widened and she hurriedly threw the letter back to the table.

"What is it?" I asked her, startled by her reaction. "Poison?"

"No, my lady." She replied with a horrified expression. "It's a slow acting Aphrodisiac."
