Chapter 87 - Chapter 87

Indeed, the lycan was strong, but if any of us sisters would fight it without restraint then it would most probably take less than a minute to kill him. We just had to act like we are strong but not overpowered as to not attract more attention than needed. Our time to show our strength will come sooner or later.

We ate and talked everything over with our parents. They were flabbergasted by what happened and at what Athy had done. They reprimanded her lightly but had asked to meet Loki soon.

After dinner, Athy, Uriel and I gathered in my office for some evening tea.

"Elaheh, your brother is a really good cook isn't he?" I complemented Aspez, her brother. "To think he could cook different cuisines for a large number of people and he can cook under time limit too."

"Thank you, my lady." Elaheh replied with a smile.

Aspez was assigned to be the head chef of the employee's residence, and so far, the feedbacks from the employees had all been positive. He was highly praised by everyone that he was even asked to cook some snacks for mother's tea party in a week.

"Are you also a good cook, Elaheh?" Uriel asked her.

"Not really, my lady." Elaheh answered humbly. "I prefer cooking poison than food."

"Ah.." Uriel smiled awkwardly at what Elaheh stated and Athy chuckled.

There was a knock on the door, followed by Sebastiene's calm voice.

"My ladies." Sebastiene greeted as he opened the door. "I have brought Loki as per the youngest lady's order."

Although I have seen countless beautiful faces, both of men and women, I was still utterly surprised when I saw his face. He didn't have father's domineering appearance, or Sebastiene's cool handsomeness, or even, Klent's elegance, but he was stunning nonetheless. Especially the light air of arrogance that he carried, showing pride in himself.

Standing beside Sebastiene who was smiling casually, Loki looked rather annoyed. His brows were slightly furrowed and his lips were pursed. He was facing us but not really looking at us. He was wearing a white, long-sleeved polo with brown pants. His grayish brown hair was tied up in a high ponytail and short tendrils were loose.

"You look better now." Athy nodded. "I hope you took a bath? You smelled dreadful before that I could have been defeated if you smacked me in the face with your smell."

The mention of bath, Loki's ears turned red.

"It couldn't have been that bad, I wasn't able to bath for a week but I did wash myself in the river." He retorted.

"But you did." I smiled teasingly making Loki's face turned beet red.

We all chuckled at the lycan's appearance.

"Stop teasing him, Athy, he might run away." Uriel jokingly scold our youngest sister before turning to the lycan. "Loki, do you mind telling us about yourself?"

"I especially wanted to hear about how you got inside the necromancer's portal." I added.

I motioned for the servants to and Loki to sit with us as it would be really awkward for them to explain while standing up as they would be looking down on us.

"I am the second son of the lycan king, Loki Tien Danahue." Loki started. "Four hundred years ago, a number of our brethren went missing. There were no specific similarities with the missing ones, some were young, some were old, some were women, and some were men. It was one or two from different clans, but it lowly grew in number until two whole clan villages were wiped out without our knowledge."

I frowned, lycan trafficking?

"Father tasked my third brother and I to look for our missing people. We had no clues or even suspicions about where they could be, but we accepted the task. We started searching for clues from the villages, to the neighboring villages. Our fellow lycans also have no idea about the missing ones. We were even about to give up, but a little girl came to my brother before we were about to leave the last village. She said that she saw some black robed people taking her friends and their families the day before. We were stunned. The lycan territory does not welcome humans or allow humans to cross our boundaries, much less take our people out of our territory. It was weird, so we asked the little pup to take us where she saw the black robed men."

He took a deep breath before continuing.

"She took us to a field near the border and pointed to the houses of her friends that were now abandoned. The things inside were still intact, no sign of force could be seen. The only thing that was off was the stench that assaulted our noses. The stench of rotting corpse."

Uriel and her maid gasped. Athy's eyes narrowed. Sebastiene and I listened calmly for him to continue.
