Chereads / Daughters of House Castellan / Chapter 83 - Chapter 83

Chapter 83 - Chapter 83

I was just thinking about what to do when I saw Uriel sitting in the garden. She was talking with her maids, most probably gossips since she likes listening to those or the latest fashion since she likes those too.

I approached my sister and the maids immediately greeted me, I smiled at them in return.

"Who did you bring back this time?" Uriel asked teasingly.

"Klaus Enin." I shrugged unbothered.

She sat straight and stared at me intently.

"And who is that?" She asked, her face full of interest.

"My advisor." I replied as I leaned back on the chair and looked up to the pinkish orange sky.

Uriel did not speak any further but just stared at me.

"Did the eldest lady just said Klaus Enin?" One of Uriel's maids whispered making Uriel look her way.

"Do you know him, Sasha?" Uriel asked her older looking maid.

"If I am not mistaken, he is the second son of Count Enin, who was banished by the king." Sasha answered.

"Banished?" Uriel looked at me, but I did not react so she turned back to the maid. "Why?"

The maid glanced at me nervously.

"I-it was said that he w-went i-insane from being t-too smart, my lady." She stuttered and kept glancing at me.

"Is he insane sis?" Uriel asked with a frown.

"Nope." I smiled lightly. "You can talk with Athy about him. She did made him cry from embarrassment earlier."

The maids all stared at me in shock.

"With Athy's tongue, I bet she questioned him where it hurts the most, didn't she?" Uriel sighed.

"Exactly." I nodded. "But her first question must have hit him hard too."

"What was it?"

"Are you a boy or a girl?" I beamed at her.

Uriel chuckled and so did the maids.

"Why would she ask that?" Uriel asked still chuckling.

"You will understand when you see him." I winked.

"Is he staying here?" She asked.

"For tonight, he is. Will work around it more tomorrow after he speaks with his father." I shrugged before looking at the maids who suddenly perked up and blushed.

"It's time for dinner, my ladies." Sebastiene bowed slightly before smiling.

The maids started swooning and acting cute.

ACTING. Yes.

Cute. No.

I'm not against employee relationship but I also don't like public display of affection, like what these girls are doing.

I stood up and motioned for Uriel who was giggling at how her maids were acting.

"Where is the new hire, Seb?" Uriel asked as we walked through the hallway towards the dining room.

"You mean Klaus, my lady? He is in the knights' residence at the moment." Sebastiene answered her with a smile.

Their relationship had always been friendly as Sebastiene was one of her teachers.

"Is he really pretty?" She asked looking up at him.

"I cannot comprehend the meaning of beauty when it comes to men, as I am one, but if you are asking if his face can pass off as a woman, then, yes, my lady." Sebastiene answered.

"I want to see him." Uriel suddenly said making the maids perk up, excited to check the new guy.

"You will meet him tomorrow, but let him rest for today." I told her. "Let him gain back some of his confidence that Athy shattered."

"Do you plan to introduce him to everyone tomorrow?" She asked.

"Yes." I nodded. "He should be known to everyone."

Uriel kept quiet after that.

"Did you receive any reply from Count Enin?" I asked Sebastiene.

"I have sent the message but no reply has been received yet, my lady." Sebastiene answered.

"When you receive a reply, inform me immediately." I told him. "Also, inform the generals that I want to speak to them tomorrow, bring Klaus and Klent too."

"Yes, my lady." He answered as he opened the door to the dining area.

We sat as the maids and Sebastiene stood behind us.

"Where is Athy?" I asked mother when I noticed that Athy's chair was empty.

"She haven't arrived yet." Mother answered.

Uriel motioned for her young maid and whispered to her. The young maid nodded and went out.

"Did you ask her to fetch Athy?" I asked and Uriel just nodded.

"By the way, did someone with the name of Ragnar Ajax came in for an interview today?" I asked mother.

"Oh yes." Mother nodded as she put down the glass of water. "He came with his sisters earlier and applied for the butler position."

"How was it?" I asked, truly curious if his father was telling the truth.

"Passed with flying colors." Mother answered excitedly. "I have never expected him to be as thorough and as knowledgeable as that. He was also quite strong and he got along with your father quickly."

"Do you like him father?" I asked my father.

"Yes. Quite efficient, I tell you." Father praised.

"Where is he now?" I looked around.

"He will officially start working tomorrow, he went back to his family first." He answered.

"I see-"

A loud explosion was heard. So loud that the entire castle shook.
