Chereads / Daughters of House Castellan / Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

The next morning, two elegant carriages were in front of the castle. The first one was in all black with gold linings and lanterns on all four corners. The other one was all black with an open seat at the back.

The knights led by General Marionne were also there with their steeds in their black armors, but they were not wearing their helmets. They were the knights ordered to escort us today. General Marionne will be leading them while general Haktor will be left to facilitate the training of the remaining knights.

"Are you girls ready?" Mother asked as she walk out the door with father.

"Yes." We replied.

"Is everything ready Marionne?" Father asked General Marionne.

"Yes, Your grace."

"Then for today, we will be in your care Marionne." Mother smiled at her.

"Please be at ease and enjoy, your grace."

Mother went into the carriage first, assisted by father who was assisted by Sebastiene. Athy followed inside next then Uriel and I was last, still assisted by Sebastiene.

Klent, who was also a part of our escort, helped the maids into the other carriage before he climbed up his steed. This made the maids blush and giggle.

Sebastiene sat beside our coachman as he was the only male if he sat inside the other carriage. He also wanted to give the ladies some privacy.

The servants and knights all bowed as our carriage moved away.

Athy raised the carriages curtains to look outside. Trees lined each side of the road towards the castle gates. After traveling for twenty to twenty five minutes, we were able to see the castle's gates. It took another thirty minutes before we could see Westreon city, the city built by the Castellans.

As our carriage moved through the streets and Athy enjoyed watching the bustling city filled with new sights.

Unlike Earth, this world was not filled with pollution from factories and vehicles. Our carriage stopped in front of a fancy looking restaurant. Sebastiene went in to talk with the manager as we alighted the carriage. People stared at us. Of course they would, even not knowing who we are, just our faces were enough to bring attention to us. We are pretty, add our uncommon silver hair and purple eyes, we are a sight.

"Lezzetli." Athy read, making us look up at the name plaque.

"Is that the name of this restaurant or the owner?" Uriel asked her maid that was from Westreon city.

"Lezzetli is the name of the restaurant, my lady." The brown-haired maid, Alina, replied.

"It means delicious in the southern kingdom's language." Sebastiene said as he came out with a brute looking man in a suit. "This is Gustaff, your grace."

"Your grace, I am Gustaf Aririn, the owner of Lezzetli." He introduced himself as he led us inside. "It is a pleasure to have you come to our humble restaurant."

The restaurant was well designed with intricate interior. The first floor was set up like a regular restaurants with tables and chairs were set up. Gustaff led us to the second floor where the private rooms were located. There were large open windows that allows us to see outside with curtains if we wanted some privacy. Marionne stood guard outside the door, the knights already had their breakfast earlier and declined our offer to eat with them. Sebastiene and the maids sat at another table because in their words "maids are not allowed to eat at the same table as the masters."

Athy and I sat beside the windows facing each other. Father and mother were sitting on Athy's side while Uriel sat beside me. We ordered all the food on the menu because mother and Uriel wanted to try them all, taste testing they said. We doubt it.

We were enjoying the food when I saw a boy dragging a girl, running towards a small alley. A few moments later, a group of men came running and looking around. I could guess that they were looking for the pair.

"An eloping couple?" Athy asked.

"Hmmm.. Most probably." I answered her while still looking at the group of men looking around.

"Or not." Athy said as she pointed at one of the men. He was holding what seems to be a club.

"What are you talking about?" Uriel interrupted, craning her head to look out the window. "There's nothing there?"

Athy and I ignored her, we just kept watching the men who were furiously looking up and down the street. One of the men noticed the alley and motioned for the others to follow him. I would have ignored it too if not for the red light that came out of the alley.

"Excuse me." I excuse myself and went out to check the ally myself. That red light got me curious.

I went down and went across to the alley where I saw the pair went into, Sebastiene was following behind me without a question. The alley was small and only two people would fit if they stay close together.

We were walking along when Sebastiene suddenly jumped in front of me.

"What is it Seb?"

Seb narrowed his eyes in front before creating a protective barrier around me.

"Poison."
