The fight between the heroes and villains carry on into the streets as Retrospect hovers down the street on top of a chunk of concrete, high above the ground. Floating debris and cars orbit around him as he throws them one by one down at the speedster chasing him. Pace Racer runs afters him while dodging the thrown projectiles.
"JUST STAY STILL YOU SWIFT BASTARD!" Retrospect yells out, hurling a car at Pace Racer.
"Sorry, I wouldn't be called the fastest man alive if I did." The hero speeds up, making the car seem like it was moving in slow-motion as he casually runs around it.
Retrospect reaches out with both arms and concentrates the street below. "Ok fastest man alive, try running when there isn't any street to run on!" Retrospect lifts up both arms, tearing up the street from the ground and crushing it into pieces.
"Well shit…"
Back at the playground Madam Vogue struggles to subdue Amethyst as she puts up barriers upon barriers along with her unlimited duplicates.
Vogue Levitates herself up into the air using her telekinesis. "You're like an infestation!" She yells, ripping off massive chunks from the remaining walls of the buildings. Vogue covers the entire playground in a volley of brick, metal and glass in order to kill Amethyst.
One by one the Amethyst duplicates are shattered by the volley of debris. The real Amethyst puts her arms out to the sides creating a barrier around her as she begins running towards the floating villainess. Before they are shattered, the duplicates create flat, square-shaped barriers in each hand and throw them ahead of the real Amethyst. Amethyst uses the flat barriers as stepping stones as she hops from one to the other getting higher and closer to Madam Vogue.
"Thanks for the assist, girls! I'll take it from here!" Amethyst says clearing the volley and closing the distance between her and Madam Vogue. "Give up now, you're under arrest." Amethyst leaps off the last barrier platform at Vogue.
"LIKE HELL I'LL GIVE UP!" Madam Vogue flings her arms up, launching some of the debris from the ground straight up towards Amethyst.
Seeing she will be hit by the debris from below, Amethyst summons another duplicate in front of her. They both reach for each other as the duplicate pulls Amethyst in, dodging the debris and flinging her at Madam Vogue. She tackles Vogue and they come crashing down to the ground, rolling over each other until they come to a stop with Amethyst kneeling over her victorious.
"Don't try anything… it's over." Amethyst says, breathing heavily from the fight.
"No… it can't end here for me…" In that moment a piece of Vogues mindscape snaps. "LET ME GO!"
"Tch… I…" Her voice sounded like a reverberating echo inside Amethyst's mind. She struggles to fight the compulsion to listen but to no avail as Amethyst slowly gets up off Vogue. "Th-... The he… Did you d-..." Even forming sentences was a massive struggle while she watched Vogue get up from the ground. Without saying anything Madam Vogue takes off leaving Amethyst there unable to move.
Running down the street, Vogue reaches for the communicator in her ear. "Retrospect, I'm falling back! Can you hear me!?"
Over in another part of the industrial district, Retrospect is still fighting off Pacer Racer and continuously ripping up the street. "I hear you! I'm still busy on my end! Head to the base, I'll meet you there!"
"Oh no, I didn't say you could leave just yet." Pace Racer increases his speed yet again to the extent that time seems to be almost at a stand still. He runs forward, every step he takes causes cracks in the concrete, and leaps from one chunk of the street to the other until he lands on the platform Retrospect is on. Pace Racer grabs the arm and the back of Retrospect's neck, runs down to ground level and puts him in meta cuffs.
The flow of time reverts to normal as the spot on the street in which the speedster was is torn up from the amount of pressure from the footing. The floating street chunks are sent flying into the sides of the buildings afterwards being used as footing for Pace Racer.
It takes a few seconds for Retrospect to realize he is pinned down on the sidewalk. "What the hell just happened?" He asks in confusion as he saw Pace Racer as a blur for one second.
"You're caught, bro." Pace Racer lifts Retrospect off the ground and onto his feet. "This is Pace Racer, I have Retrospect in custody. Rendezvous to my position."
Amethyst regains control of her body once Vogue is out of range. She reluctantly reaches for her communicator. "This is Amethyst, Madam Vogue has escaped… Apparently her compulsion isn't limited to just animals like we were told."
Couple minutes have passed until the heroes meet up with the rest of the law enforcement. They toss Retrospect and She-wolf into the back of a swat truck and slam the doors shut.
"Two out of three bad guys. I'll take that." Says Pace Racer walking up to B.A.D, Daniel and Amethyst.
Amethyst looks down in disappointment. "I'm sorry, if I had known we would have all three of them."
"It's not your fault, Amethyst we didn't know she could compel humans too. Anyone would have made the mistake." Daniel says to comfort his colleague. "We just have to be on our toes next time."
As they are talking a group of police is seen walking up to them, one of them is carrying meta cuffs. "Sadly, I won't be there for that."
Daniel looks at B.A.D then back at the police. "I should've expected this outcome." B.A.D takes off his riot helmet and brass knuckles. He turns around with his hand behind his back for the police to easily cuff him. "This was part of a deal with the authorities, wasn't it?" B.A.D just nods in silence. "At least tell me why you did it?"
"Transmuter… that son of a bitch threatened to kill my family if I didn't agree to be his inside man. I got scared for their safety so I played along." Says B.A.D.
"What made you finally come clean?" Daniel asks.
"You. He wanted me to lead you into this trap to have you killed by that bitch. I couldn't stand by and just watch you die, had to do something. So I worked out a plan with Mr. Hall, my family is under hero protection until we can bring down Transmuter in return I give myself up to the police." B.A.D says just before they start to escort him to a squad car.
"Anything else we should know before you are sent to the slammer?" Amethyst asks him.
"Yeah, there is one more thing. That mole you were talking about before, it's not me." This information shocks the rest of the heroes. "That mole is the one who gave my personal information to Transmuter. Promise me you will find that bastard." With that request B.A.D gets into the squad car and is driven away.
(I retconned Baddie bri to Madam Vogue, I couldn't take the name anymore. The characters name is still Bri outside of the villain persona. changed the name in the precious chapters as well.)
