Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Guns don't help situations.

"That man..was it..?"

"It was him, yes."

"But..you pushed him off the roof and he still-"

A chuckle interrupted, "Life has a very strange way of bonding two people together but it happens."

"Right."

"What happens next is really gonna confuse you considering how you're processing the story."

"What do you mean?"

"Let me tell you what happened."

Thursday, 2:11 am. 1994, on the 3rd of March. Earth.

"Oh god, oh god! What have I done..?" A fearful mumble to herself was all Angel could manage while trying to calm her mind as the pounding on the door only got worse. "Open up!" The male outside shouted, causing Angel to flinch and stepped away from the door, her ears going down as the fight or flight instinct raced for control over her body. The pounding on the door increased, becoming louder and causing the flight instinct to win. She immediately turned and ran to the kitchen the best she could in her stockings, using them to her advantage when she reached the hardwood floor by letting herself slide the rest of the way to the back door. Her hands began fiddling with the doorknob she now had trouble unlocking, her eyes not being able to focus with the dizzying cloud of fear fogging her mind. Her ears twitched up, her eyes widening with her panic skyrocketing when she heard the front door break open, the hinges making loud clanks when they hit the carpeted ground in the living room. If she couldn't open the damn door right now, she was done for! "I know you're in here!" The male yelled, making her flinch again when his voice was louder than before, he was inside the house. Angel started breathing heavily, desperately trying to open the back door, her fingers not managing to get the lock turned even a little bit. "Come on, come on-" She muttered under her breath harshly and cursed the fact that the door was unlockable, she was starting to believe it wanted her to be caught. While she fumbled with the door and was focused on trying to get it open, her ears didn't pick up the sound of footsteps coming near her. A cough made her hands flinch away from the door and the rest of her body freeze, her tail fluffing up as her ears went down. Slowly, she turned her head to look over her shoulder before her blue eyes widened at seeing the male stood behind her with his arms crossed. She swore her heart stopped beating right then, she couldn't feel it. She looked up at his face, not being able to help her staring when she was otherwise frozen and had no intention of fighting. The male had furious levels of anger coming from his body language but he also seemed patient, waiting for her next move. Angel honestly just wanted to stand there forever frozen where she stood and hoped not moving meant she was invisible, though she knew that was impossible. Patience can only hold for so long and when it breaks, that'll be it. So, she took a deep breath and turned the rest of her body around toward the male and straightened up, feeling self-conscious when his gray eyes immediately drifted down her figure. She couldn't tell if he was just trying to make sure she didn't run or if he was looking at her body itself but either choice made her regret what she chose to dress in. A tank top and shorts, definitely the best choice for moments like now, note the sarcasm. Of course, now wasn't a good time to have a nervous break down about what she was wearing, she still had a very angry man in front of her that just broke into her house because she pushed him off her roof. Which, to be fair, it was her roof. He had no right to be mad. Angel stayed silent as the male's gaze traveled to her face, her breath nearly hitching if she wasn't holding it when his eyes connected with hers. His eyes held the same anger that his body gave off and Angel counted herself lucky he hasn't tried to attack her yet.

"I think you have something to say to me." He said, breaking the silence sharply. Angel's ears went down at the volume of his voice but her face started to burn when the foreign feeling from before hit full force. It was weird how he was angry yet that feeling still surrounded her, it was even stronger than before. She hated that it was though, it was bad that he caused it. If he was going to attack her, all he'd have to do is talk and she'd freeze, so it was a weakness. Angel swallowed down her nerves, her tail's fur fluffing up more and slowly latching itself onto her stocking covered legs. The male's eyes glanced at her tail when it moved and that only made it fluff up more as Angel took a step back. "W-what..?" She choked out. He glared, not seeming to like her loss of words and she imagined that knives had stabbed her eyes but she forced herself to keep eye contact. That worked out pretty well till the male started to approach her with his footsteps seeming to shake the hardwood floor and making her ears flop down in an instant. Angel let out a startled squeal, moving away as quick as she could with her stockings wanting to slide on the floor. He didn't stop or hesitant in his approach and she gasped when her wings bumped into a corner. With the realization that she had just backed herself into a corner with no safe escape, she looked at him frightened and caught the corner of the male's lips almost twitch into a smile as he realized it himself. Her body shook with each step he took toward her, his steps tauntingly slow when he saw he had caged her. He was terrorizing her, trying to provoke a reaction and she hated it because it was working. Three long steps were all it took to be close to her and yet again she was flinching when he slammed his one of his hands onto the wall near her head and the other near her waist, pinning her there. She felt helpless against the male and his unknown intentions, her mind starting to run wild on what he could do to her. The ideas were mostly not good ones. "I said, you have something to say to me." He said, luckily not yelling with how close they were but his whispering was worse when the foreign feeling that Angel once described as cozy returned much stronger than the other times. Her face flushed, burning with a blush that made her glad she didn't have pale skin or the male would have seen how much their closeness affected her. Though she was sure he knew anyhow. She managed to keep eye contact with him for a good while as he stared her down with his gray eyes but all it took was him stepping even closer to make her cave. She bowed her head down, her wings springing open in an instant and fanning out before wrapping themselves around her body to hide her. The male gasped, her wings smacking his hands off the wall and pushing him away before he could fall onto her. He stopped himself from falling back and took a moment to catch his breath that the shock stole from him. "Such odd wings.." He muttered, sounding startled and almost amazed. Angel took her own moment to calm her breathing, the flustered rush making her heart beat too much for comfort. She still felt trapped even with the male not pinning her, she knew that wasn't good. She needed to do something about it before the feeling turned into something worse, she felt that the situation would have a bad outcome if she let it. She peeked through the black feathers of her wings and looked at the male. His gray eyes were drifting across her wings, staring at them curiously and in awe. She couldn't help the shiver that ran through her back when his eyes traced the pattern her feathers created and soon trailed up to connect his gaze to hers. His glare returned but much softer than before like he was more amazed than angry now. Angel took a deep breath to will her confidence up as her wings slowly spread out to their full wingspan. A brief look of fear crossed the male's face but he hid it a second later, nonetheless, she felt like she had more power over him now. Her wings made her look bigger than him, and they were strong so if the look wasn't enough, she could smack him with them.

"My wings are odd?" She questioned, her voice laced full of confidence but it wavered at the end when his glare went harsher. "You breaking down my d-door is odd!" She cursed internally at her stutter as she tried to make her voice louder. She swallowed a lump that had formed in her throat when the male clenched his fist but she stood her ground by glaring back at him. "That's odd? You knocking me off this roof is odd!" The male replied, his eyes narrowing into a sharper glare. Her blue eyes narrowed right back as a challenge, one she honestly didn't know if she could win. Her wings slowly folded behind her back as she clenched her fist, her sharp nails poking into the palm of her hand and threatening to draw blood if she wasn't careful. "My roof. Some people have to sleep and work." She growled out. The male scoffed, turning his narrowed eyes away from hers as he turned his head and crossed his arms. "So? Doesn't mean you go up there and push me off." He argued. A growl rumbled in Angel's throat, she didn't even know the guy's name and they were fighting, plus he acted like she wasn't threatening! She already had enough of his attitude and was ready to kick him out. "Well, how about you stop talking to yourself on a stranger's roof! Go do it on your own!" She growled out and just as she was about to add how rude he was being when this was his fault, he returned his glare to her. It was full of fire and it made her shut her mouth before she could continue digging her own grave deeper than what it already was. "You don't know what I was doing." He stated with an almost primal growl that made another but very different shiver run down her back and sweep her confidence away from her. "You will never know and we will never meet again." He started stepping toward her while he talked and she started backing up again, her body filling up with panic again and yet another strange feeling. "And trust me, you'll be happy we never meet again." He growled, pinning her to the wall again and causing her to squeak. Her words caught in her throat, the only thing she could do was stare into his fiery and angered eyes. He scoffed at this before he smirked, his eyes changing from the look of anger to something Angel couldn't explain. "I could kill you right now if I really wanted to..or maybe do something else." He said, whispering in a deep and smooth voice that affected Angel in the worse ways, the foreign feeling settling in again and making her feel hot. His smirk widened when her ears down, her face burning red as she feared he noticed the effect he had. Her wide eyes looked over his face before she noticed he was distracted by his thoughts. There was a chance to catch him off guard.

"Or...I could kill you. You don't know my strengths or what I can do." She said, her primal instincts overpowering the fight or flight instincts still there from a few minutes ago. Angel smiled at the male with her sharp canines shining in the light as she forced unneeded fear from her mind, now wasn't the time for it. He narrowed his eyes again as his gaze flickered from her eyes to her mouth, the look in his eyes intensifying but he stayed silent with his thoughts. Angel took this as her chance. One quick step and a push with all her strength, the male was knocked down to the floor. He grunted in pain when his body hit the ground with a thump and Angel dove on top of him in hopes of turning the table. "I really wouldn't test your luck, Ms." The male growled once she had tackled him and before she knew he was moving, the blade of a knife was held against her throat, the cold metal making her pause instantly as her eyes widened in fright. She took a second to assess the situation before her eyes narrowed at his face. "And I wouldn't test yours." She growled, her left hand latching onto his neck and her nails digging themselves into the skin of his neck and causing him to wince. Otherwise, he had no reaction. "I advise you to leave when I get off of you." She hissed to him. His eyes narrowed threateningly trying to break through her act but she didn't let it. "And if I don't?" He questioned. She tightened her hold on his throat, one of her nails starting to draw blood out through his tan skin. "You won't see the sun tomorrow." She answered with unwavering confidence that would have shocked herself if she wasn't focused on threatening the guy. His eyes searched hers for a lie, trying to see if there was a crack in her confidence and there was when he smirked at her again. She got suspicious, narrowing her eyes and unknowingly loosening her grip on him. A very sudden pain struck hard in her left hand and she shrieked out, the pain making her vision blackout for a split second as she felt her body being pushed and her back hit the ground. She heaved in a deep breath, her vision returning and her gaze flickering to her hand pulsing with horrible pain. He stabbed her hand with the knife! She hissed, wasting no time in gripping the handle with her free hand and jerking it out, knowing that the male was ready to attack again. High amounts of adrenaline pulsed through her blood, numbing the pain and making her ready to lunge toward the male to drive the knife anywhere in his skin where she could reach. She sat up to follow her urge but instead, she gasped. A click was heard, her eyes meeting with the barrel of a very powerful gun. She froze and breathed heavily, her rushing adrenaline not stopping the fear that flooded in. She dropped the knife onto the ground, her ears going down as her mind screamed with many thoughts but the loudest one was 'This is where I die.'

The male's gray eyes glared straight into her scared form and his hand was holding the gun steady toward her head, his finger ready to pull the trigger within one wrong move. One of his feet kicked the knife away, leaving her absolutely helpless unless she wanted to die trying to fight more. "Now then." He sighed, "Unless you want a chance to die right here and right now, I suggest you say sorry." He growled in a threatening tone, freezing her more. This had gone too far, she couldn't speak, couldn't move, couldn't do anything to stop him from blowing her brains out. And it scared her. It scared her so much that tears slowly welled up in her eyes and began to fall down her cheeks. His glare sharpened, his finger pulling the trigger back a bit and her breath hitched when the hammer barely moved. "Say you're sorry, now!" He yelled, making her flinch and squeeze her eyes closed, she couldn't get her voice to come out. She just knew she was going to die. The male sighed.

"Suit yourself."
